00:00President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. advises Filipinos in countries affected by the conflict in the
00:05Middle East to shelter in place and follow the host government's advice. Over 1,000 Filipinos
00:11working there will have to wait until flights and land travel resume before they can be repatriated.
00:16Marcos says reports from the ground and talks with parties involved in the conflict show
00:20it is too dangerous to send planes to evacuate Filipinos from the Gulf or transport them by land
00:25to safer countries. The president cites a recent incident in which three U.S. fighter jets were
00:30accidentally shot down over Kuwait. Although the crew members ejected safely, he says the
00:36incident underscores the risk of mistakes in an active conflict zone. He adds land evacuation is
00:41also not an option for now due to the continuing strikes. That is also dangerous although that will
00:48be the best option that we will have in the near in the immediate future.
