00:12In a press conference today, Fahmi said TAPA MP M Sarvinen was also absent from yesterday's
00:18sitting as he had to attend prayers.
00:20The Dewan Rakyat failed to pass a constitutional amendment to limit the Prime Minister's tenure
00:25to a maximum of 10 years after the vote fell short of the required two-thirds majority
00:30yesterday evening.
00:31In the bloc vote, 146 MPs supported the bill, 44 abstained and 32 were absent.
00:38It needed at least 148 votes to meet the two-thirds majority required for constitutional amendment.
00:44It was later reported that eight MPs from the government bloc were absent while all Pakatan
00:49Harapan MPs were present and backed the bill.
00:52Apart from Suhaimi and Sarvinen, the remaining six absentees were Hishamuddin Hussein, Larry
00:58Singh, Sayyid Abu Husid Hafiz, Sayyid Abdul Fasal, Henry Sam Agong, Ridwan Rubin and former
