00:00Black women have been crushing it globally, like fashion, music, entertainment.
00:04How does it feel to be a part of that wave?
00:07Girl, it's insane. You know what I mean?
00:10Like, I think we've always been killing it, you know, so...
00:12The world's just catching up now, because y'all was already crushing.
00:15You know, the world's catching up. They've still got more catching up to do.
00:20But it's a blessing, you know, like growing up, watching, like, black women in the industry
00:26and seeing myself in them, you know, and just watching them do what they've done.
00:31And now I'm here. I'm just excited for, like, whoever sees themselves in me
00:37to see what we're capable of, you know what I mean?
00:41And, yeah, I just want to take it to the top. I want to take it as far as I
00:43can.
00:44I love that. And speaking of that, I mean, you already have timeless music.
00:48But what's the key to making music that just stands the test of time?
00:52Mmm. That's a good question. Journalism.
00:58I don't know. I don't know if you ever really know, you know?
01:03But for me, I think it starts in the studio when you just make something
01:08that is genuinely out of love and passion, not like a formula.
01:12Because I know a lot of people go in the studio with intentions,
01:15but I find that when I make music or sing songs that are just feel-good songs,
01:22they always last the longest. Yeah.
01:25Now, what has been your favorite musical moment, either last year or this year so far?
01:30Could be a song, video, performance.
01:32One of yours?
01:33Me or in general?
01:34In general.
01:35Mmm.
01:35Yeah.
01:37I was going to say, do you want to tell someone?
01:42I don't know. Honestly, I think I've just been very excited watching like a new wave of like pop stars
01:48emerge.
01:49Like that's so exciting because now we're seeing the beginning of who knows what it's going to be 10 years
01:55from now.
01:56Thanks.
01:56You
