Pigeon droppings, mould infestations and even a resident possum are just some of maintenance issues identified by the state's health minister in a snap review of hospital cleanliness. The review's been called following the death of two patients at a Sydney hospital from a fungal infection, thought to be linked to construction work.

00:16If you're a patient, you deserve to be cared for in our hospitals,
00:19not having to avoid fatal mould, maggots, bird lice.
00:24The Health Minister's called a snap review of maintenance problems.

00:31a fly problem at Royal North Shore, cockroaches at Wyong and possums in Balmain.

00:52The Ministers also faced questions over the deaths of two transplant patients at the RPA in November,

01:15They're transplant patients. They are arguably some of the sickest patients we have in our hospital.
01:21The deaths may not have been made public were it not for a parliamentary order for papers.
01:26The Health Minister says his office was told in December, but he wasn't informed until February.
01:33You were not aware of this particular issue, is that your evidence?
01:35Not that particular issue, yeah.

01:43That's the only case.
01:43What is our truth to what is the source of their했는데?
01:45The Diablo feeling.
