Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has claimed the UK could have faced an attack from Iran if the Islamic Republic managed to develop a nuclear weapon, as she accused the Government of 'weakness' in not supporting the US-Israel strikes on Iran.

00:00We need to act in the British national interest.
00:03That is what politicians are elected to do.
00:06We are elected to make sure that we preserve the security and safety of citizens in this country.
00:12Iran is a threat to Britain, and we should do everything within our power to make sure that it is
00:18no longer a threat.
00:19The U.S. was carrying out actions in its national interest.
00:24Our government couldn't say whether or not it agreed or disagreed with what was going on.
00:30And let's be clear, international law is a fig leaf.
00:34It is not a coincidence that Canada and Australia, other allies led by left-wing governments,
00:39were able to say what they believed, that they agreed with the actions, and our Prime Minister was wringing his
00:44hands.
00:45That shows that this has got nothing to do with international law and everything to do with votes
00:51and where the Labour Party thinks its votes comes from.
00:54I do not want to see a situation where we are sending British troops, people's sons and daughters, to war
01:00when we're not clear what is going on.
01:03With Iran, it is very, very clear what is going on.
01:06And we can't just bury our heads in the sand like ostriches and hope that if we just do nothing,
01:11the problem will go away.
01:12I do not want to see an Iran that has nukes, because if they do have nukes, we will be
01:18nuked.
01:18That is very, very clear.
01:19That is what we need to explain to many people who may not understand the specifics of this situation or
01:26the details.
01:27We need to be honest about that.
01:28Keir Starmer does not know what he believes.
01:31I know what I believe, and I am able to say so.
