00:00What makes Trey, as we're affectionately calling this dinosaur, so special is the fact that it has this incredible history
00:09on public display.
00:11It was found in the early 90s, and it was prepared and mounted and loaned to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center,
00:17and over a million people have been touched and inspired by this dinosaur.
00:22As a natural history object, it's really amazing because it's a dinosaur skeleton, but it also has this cultural aspect
00:29that a lot of fossils that go to auction these days just simply don't have.
00:34This one is connected to people and undoubtedly has inspired young children who've seen it to pursue a career in
00:43paleontology.
00:44You know, people have kind of emotional reactions and relationship to it.
00:48But it is so unique and so special to be able to take a dinosaur that has been in a
00:53museum and, to Andre's point, been seen by, you know, a million people and be able to offer it for
00:59sale
01:00and be able to tell its story even more so than it's already been told.
01:05Dinosaurs and fossils, but specifically dinosaurs, have always been in vogue, right?
01:12They've always captivated our imagination.
01:14They've always been interesting because it's a tangible part of our ancient history that we get to know through these
01:21amazing displays.
01:22And people are now starting to see the value in investing in these as assets.
01:28The dinosaur has always been privately owned, so I think that's a really important distinction that we need to make
01:32here.
01:33It's not being deaccessioned from a museum's collection.
01:36It is a privately owned natural history object that is now being offered for sale.
