00:00Can you please stop comparing everything and anything, and everything Weepin.
00:03And let's be clear, this isn't at all to put down Bodø/Glimt, who really does a
00:06This year's achievement was immense.
00:07And truly, I wish them the best of luck in going as far as possible, unless they face us, of course.
00:10Because even though I love beautiful stories, etc., I'm a lover of that particular romanticism of football.
00:14But I can assure you that if we show some guts, we'll be in the League semi-finals
00:17Champions
00:18And that Bodo Glimt too, I can assure you that my love for beautiful stories, etc., goes fast
00:22clear.
00:22But anyway, moving on, there are four things that make these two teams incomparable.
00:26From 1, Bodo Glimt did not go that far.
00:29Secondly, they did not face the same teams.
00:31Thirdly, the context of Bodo and Ajax has nothing to do with each other.
00:33And that makes 4, and for me this is the most important point, the level of Ajax in 2019
00:37was absolutely exceptional.
00:39Regarding the first two points, let me remind you of something.
00:41Ajax 2019 saw two draws against Bernal-Munik in the group stage.
00:44It's an elimination for Real Madrid, a second home defeat, but a 4-1 victory at the Bernabeu.
00:49It's perhaps the craziest match I've ever seen in my life, I think, plus
00:5210 years old.
00:53Elimination behind Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus,
00:55And those guys were one second away from eliminating Tottenham in the semi-final and going to the League final
00:59Champions.
01:00Bodø/Glimt, well, that's still exceptional, once again, I want to make that clear,
01:03Don't go telling me this is a hate campaign against Bodø/Glimt or whatever.
01:05But it's just a draw against Tottenham and against Dortmund in the group stage.
01:08A victory against City in Bodø, and there it's true, we really have to concede defeat.
01:12a victory in Madrid against Atlético de Madrid,
01:13and especially Inter Milan's elimination from the Champions League final in a two-legged tie.
01:17But for the two points I mentioned, the first one is not the same path
01:20because Bodo Glimt is only in the round of 16, and hasn't yet reached the semi-finals,
01:23And again, okay, eliminating Inter Milan in the Champions League final,
01:26It's a tremendous achievement, let's be clear,
01:28But the Real Madrid that Ajax eliminated in 2019, do you remember which Real Madrid it was?
01:32This isn't the Real Madrid of Alonso, Ninja Turtles, Arbeloa, or whatever.
01:35It was one of the best Real Madrid teams in history.
01:37So yes, CR7 had gone to Juve who will face Ajax right after,
01:41But still, Ajax had lost 1-2 at home.
01:43They were won 4-1 at the Bernabeu, against the three-time defending European champions.
01:48Thirdly, and I know this can also be a negative point,
01:50It's not necessarily all positive for Bodo Glimt.
01:53But I don't think Ajax 2019 had the cheat code to play at home at the Cercle Brugge.
01:57polar,
01:57where they had minus 20 degrees, and where not all the opponents were necessarily used to it.
02:01Because that definitely helps them a little bit, anyway.
02:02because we know very well that non-Nordic teams are not used to such cold.
02:05And lastly, regarding this point, Bodo Glimt has not played any official matches.
02:10That's the last 4 months, excluding the Champions League.
02:12While all the clubs, Atletico, City, Inter, are playing,
02:15where the National Cups, Super Cups and the Championship,
02:19Bodo Glimt only had friendly matches.
02:20So yes, it can be a good thing, but also a bad thing, because it is not prepared as much, etc.
02:24But still, for me, when I see the overflowing ashtrays in the clubs,
02:27It is reasonable to think that this helped Bodo Glimt.
02:29And lastly, this point, which for me completely overturns the previous three points,
02:31And that explains why Ajax 2019 isn't Villarreal, Lyon, or even Brest, or whatever.
02:36The fact is that Ajax 2019 had the level to be there.
02:39In fact, it's important to realize, for those who were born then and who remember Ajax in 2019,
02:42that the level that this team had was absolutely exceptional.
02:45And the difference with all the surprise teams is that, well, they are surprises precisely.
02:49You've all seen Bodo Glimt play,
02:51And you know very well that one day, unfortunately for them, it will stop.
02:53Because these guys aren't at the level of the top teams either.
02:56I can assure you that this Ajax team, they could have won the Champions League.
