00:00Israel and the U.S. launched coordinated strikes in Iran on Saturday in what Israel's defense minister called a preemptive
00:08strike and U.S. President Donald Trump described as major combat operations.
00:13Short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. Our objective is to defend the American
00:25people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people.
00:37Its menacing activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies throughout the world.
00:46According to a statement from Israel's defense ministry, the attack was carried out, quote, to remove threats, end of quote.
00:53The statement added that a special and permanent state of emergency has been declared across Israel in anticipation of retaliatory
01:01strikes.
01:01According to reports, the first apparent strike happened near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
01:08Some media reports, however, claim the Iranian leader was sheltering in an undisclosed location and was not in Tehran at
01:15the time of the strikes.
01:16A cloud of smoke was seen rising from the city's downtown, and Iranian media reported explosions have been heard in
01:23five cities across the Islamic Republic.
01:26The attacks come as tensions in the region have been high as Washington and Tehran try to reach an agreement
01:33and a deal to limit Iran's nuclear activities.
01:40Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mikhail told your news flagship morning show Europe Today that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot afford
01:48to end Moscow's war in Ukraine.
01:50While Mikhail said he does not claim to understand Putin, he believes the logic of dictatorship explains Moscow's continued aggression,
01:58even as negotiations take place.
02:00It's like riding a bike, being a dictator, that when you stop, you will fall away.
02:05That is the same with Vladimir Putin.
02:08For example, everybody in Europe, and I always remind my colleagues that right now Putin has more men under the
02:14arms than at the start of the war.
02:16So, if we would stop right now, and he would stop right now, killing women and children in Ukraine, then
02:23what to do with those guys?
02:25Mikhail warned that a premature peace without firm security guarantees could create instability not only inside Russia, but across Europe.
02:34His comments come as an EU plan to mobilize 90 billion euros in support for Ukraine remains politically blocked.
02:41Mikhail expressed confidence that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa would find alternative
02:51ways to unlock the funding.
02:56A drone neutralized on Wednesday, very close to the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, during a stopover in Malmö,
03:03could be of Russian origin, the Swedish defense minister said on Thursday.
03:07A Russian military vessel was nearby at the time of the incident, according to him.
03:13French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barraud stressed that the security of the aircraft carrier wasn't threatened.
03:19If indeed, as the Minister of Defense suggested, there is a potential Russian origin for this incident, the only conclusion
03:29I would draw is that it would be a ridiculous provocation.
03:34The French ship was anchored before joining NATO exercises in the Baltic Sea.
03:39A Swedish navi vessel spotted the drone during a patrol and activated an electronic jamming system to disrupt its navigation.
03:48Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said he didn't know about the incident.
03:56Pakistan has declared open war on Afghanistan, launching a series of airstrikes on major cities, including the capital, Kabul, on
04:03Friday.
04:04The attack follows a deadly exchange of fire overnight, with the Taliban reportedly retaliating for previous Pakistani strikes along the
04:12border.
04:13Pakistani Defense Minister Kavaya Mohamed Asif said they had hoped for peace and stability in the region after the NATO
04:20withdrawal, but had now lost all patience, claiming the country became a colony of India, exporting terrorism.
04:27The Taliban government denied Islamabad's claims that it is failing to act against militant groups.
04:33The conflict comes after months of rising tensions and a failed ceasefire brokered by Qatar and Turkey, which has already
04:40left dozens of soldiers and civilians dead, also leading to a massive migrant crisis.
04:45With Saudi Arabia now attempting to mediate, the UN warns that the escalating violence threatens to plunge the entire region
04:52into a humanitarian disaster.
04:54Thank you very much.
