00:00Just as you are to worship, come. Just as you are, you hold your God, come.
00:17One day every church will bless you, my God. One day every knee will bow. Still the greatest pleasure will
00:27be arranged for us, but the bad we do to now.
00:37How many of you have tried to read the book of Revelation? Oh, all of you. Wow. Did it make
00:43sense to you?
00:48Absolutely. Well, there's a secret to it. And even though the outline looks something like that, you cannot read it
00:58that way because it'll never make sense to you.
01:01So what I'm going to do is I'm going to show you how to read it because like the battle
01:07hymn of the Republic says, God's marching on. He's not slowing down.
01:12It's important for you to know what's going to happen in what order and why.
01:17And the culmination is, is that right after beginning of chapter four, chapter four, verse one, is the rapture of
01:29the church.
01:30And people will always ask me, well, how do you know it's then?
01:36Well, you don't really.
01:39This is a theological views of when it's going to happen.
01:43And they call it the theological views of the millennium.
01:47But the truth is, is it there's four different views.
01:53One of them is that it's after the tribulation.
01:58The second coming happens here and the church is raptured then, which doesn't make any sense.
02:05But you understand they all use the same Bible verses to come up with these.
02:09The second one is pre-tribulation.
02:13The church is raptured before the tribulation starts.
02:17The other one is after the millennium, post-millennium.
02:21And that's after the millennium, people are raptured out.
02:26And then there's one where there is no rapture of the church at all.
02:32And it's called the amillennialist.
02:35And the question is, is which one do you believe?
02:37I'm going to confuse you.
02:40I'm going to confuse you because I believe all of them.
02:48It's funny that theologians have come up with four different translations or interpretations of when the millennium is going to
02:57take place.
02:58Or when the rapture of the church is going to take place.
03:01Or when the tribulation is going to take place.
03:04But they're all in Scripture.
03:07I'm not loud enough.
03:11Dave's going to have to help me here because I don't know which one goes up.
03:15Okay, that one.
03:18So, what I've done to make it easy is I've drawn a chart.
03:25I knew I could count on Ed.
03:33But if you go through and lay out the book of Revelation and put all the things together that make
03:40sense being together,
03:41you'll come up with a chart that looks like this.
03:44And I'm going to explain it to you and it'll make sense.
03:47Except I may confuse Ed since this one makes sense.
03:54So, I just took a piece of paper and divided it in half.
03:59One half goes tribulation and the other half goes to great tribulation.
04:04Okay.
04:07And I didn't bring my pencil.
04:09That's terrible.
04:10No.
04:10I've got a pen.
04:11I'm going to use a pen.
04:14So, we just start off and say this is the revelation.
04:19And it starts off in chapter 1, 2, and 3 talking about us as the body of the church.
04:28Chapter 1 is really the introduction.
04:30And chapter 2 and 3 are the letters to the seven churches.
04:34Okay.
04:35So, the first three chapters are all to the church.
04:40And then in chapter 4, especially in verse 1, is the rapture.
04:48And that's the first rapture.
04:51And it just says,
04:53After this I looked and a door opened in heaven and the first voice I heard was that of the
05:00trumpeter saying to me,
05:01Come up here.
05:02That's the whole basis for the rapture of the church before the tribulation.
05:07And the rest of 4 through 5 is us seeing heaven for the first time.
05:14And where the problem starts is in chapter 6.
05:17And you can't read chapter 6 next.
05:20You have to understand who this is all about first.
05:24So, you have to go to chapter 12 and read it next.
05:27And chapter 12 are all the principal players that are involved in the book of Revelation.
05:35And it starts off by describing the woman who's Israel, the red dragon who's Satan, the male child who's Christ,
05:46the archangel Michael, and then it talks about the Jewish remnant.
05:50So, you understand the focus of the book of Revelation is, how's God going to save those Jews?
05:56Because it talks about the harlot.
05:59And how would you classify who the harlot is as given in the book of Revelation?
06:08I'm just going to tell you.
06:09I'm going to guess.
06:10It's anything that takes you away from following Christ.
06:14So, how many religions are there in the world that would tell you that Christ is not the answer?
06:19So, all of this is talking about the harlot.
06:22Now, the bad part about it is that the harlot can be most anything.
06:30It's just talking about anything that takes you away from Christ.
06:35So, this is the first half of the tribulation.
06:39And I'm just going to draw a circle and start here with chapter 6.
06:45And those are the seals that God opens up.
06:49And this is after everybody's gone, after all the church people are gone, after all the religious people are gone,
06:55that's when the judgment starts to fall.
06:57And this is the easy side of judgment.
06:59Chapter 6 are the six, actually there are seven seals, but the first six are all like the four horsemen
07:07of the apocalypse,
07:09which come and the false Christ comes, war starts, famine starts, death starts, and then people get martyred.
07:20And that's all of the seals.
07:24Now, you can't read about that and not understand what's happening while all of that's going on.
07:32And the little diagram that I put down there, which I don't have now, or the outline that I put
07:41down there,
07:44what's strange?
07:48Anyway, of the chapters in order, you can't do that.
07:53Because once the seals start opening up, you need to understand what's going to be happening
07:59while those seals are playing out in the world.
08:04And what it really talks about is in chapter 13, and it's the reign of terror.
08:12And it's the reign of terror of the Antichrist, the false prophet, and the Antichrist, the false prophet, and Satan,
08:21who make up the unholy trio.
08:25And all of this time in here is defined in chapter 11, and it's called the time of the nations.
08:32And the Bible says that the nations will trample down or convene on Jerusalem.
08:40And that's what's going on right now.
08:42The nations have more to do with Jerusalem than the Jews do.
08:47It's divided into three parts, the Muslim part, the Christian part, and the Jewish part.
08:51And really, the Muslims and the Christians are determining more what happens than the Jews.
08:57They can't even rebuild their temple right now, but it'll happen.
09:03The time of the nations will ultimately lead to chapters 8 and 9,
09:11which will be the trumpets, the judgment of the trumpets.
09:16And it's more and more judgment.
09:18They get more severe, more severe, more severe.
09:23And the whole object of all this is who's going to get saved.
09:28And chapter 7 is those who are saved.
09:32And that's the whole purpose.
09:33As a matter of fact, it says there's such a large number that walk into the millennial kingdom of Christ.
09:39But a lot of them are going to pay for it with their bodies.
09:43They're going to have their heads chopped off.
09:45There's an altar that's talked about with all these heads stuck under it.
09:49And, of course, the people that chop off heads are Muslims.
09:54I ran into Ronnie LeBlanc last week downtown, and he was giving a sermon on – this was in one
10:04of the cowboy shops.
10:05He was giving a sermon on all the Muslims that own hotels in Sheridan.
10:13Do you know how many hotels are owned by Muslims in Sheridan?
10:16Huh?
10:17Yeah.
10:18He named four real quick.
10:21As a matter of fact, the new Holiday Inn is owned by Muslims.
10:25And they won't let them put any Bibles in there.
10:27And let me ask you this.
10:29What if the Muslims decide when they – after the rapture of the church, they have free reign and they
10:35can just drive into all these hotels, fill them up with arms, and invite all their Muslim friends to come
10:42up here and just kill everybody?
10:43The next thing they're going to do, Ronnie says, is they're going to petition the city government to build a
10:48mosque.
10:49I mean, this – we left Houston because there were too many Muslims.
10:54And get up here, and they're starting to show up up here.
11:00Maybe I need to go up into the bighorns.
11:05In chapter 10 of the book of Revelation, it talks about why all this is going to happen the way
11:11it happens.
11:12And this is all over who owns the earth.
11:15It's all about the ownership of the earth.
11:17Who owns the earth?
11:20Okay, you got that right.
11:22This is about ownership of the earth.
11:26Now, once these two sets of plagues run through the earth, there's going to be a whole lot of people
11:35to get saved
11:37because of the 140,000 people that are mentioned in chapter 14, where Jesus calls out 144,000 male unmarried
11:52Jews
11:53who've never been with a woman and puts on them a seal so they can't be killed,
11:58and they go around the earth evangelizing the earth.
12:01And there's 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes.
12:07So they're finally going to do what God's intended them to do all along.
12:13And that's make a difference and bring souls to Christ.
12:18That's in chapter 7 and 14.
12:23So you get a picture of what's going to happen just during the first three and a half years.
12:28And that's all this is.
12:30And that's a lot of stuff to take place.
12:32But, you know, the church is not going to be here.
12:35It's going to be the Jews fighting against the Muslims.
12:38That's what it's really going to be.
12:39And then all these people that are talked about here, and that's all part of chapter 14.
12:49And the implication is that since they've been redeemed, that that's the second rapture.
12:56They go out at the midpoint of the tribulation and are taken out for the final punishment.
13:04But these 144,000 have finally done what God wanted them to do.
13:08And everybody's left, evidently, even though it's not specific, to go through the great tribulation.
13:15And this is in chapters 15 through 19.
13:19There are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 chapters that deal with the tribulation.
13:31And then there's 5, 4, or 5, that deal with the great tribulation.
13:38So by this time, society has been divided.
13:43There's the good guys who've seen the light and chosen the right pathway, and there's bad guys.
13:48And there's a lot of them left who refuse to worship God.
13:52And in chapter 15, he says, okay, for you people who don't want to believe, here comes the bowls.
14:02And the bowls are the worst part of the book of Revelation.
14:08Chapter 16, God punishes everybody who's left.
14:13And chapter 16, it's horrible.
14:15Chapter 17 is about Babylon, the harlot, and God's victory over these two.
14:25Now, with all this happening and going on, you have to ask yourself,
14:30what city would be the focal point of the earth after the tribulation starts?
14:38Now, you know, during the time before here, before the book of Revelation actually starts,
14:47the Jews are going to build the temple, and it will be the third temple they built.
14:52You know that.
14:54There's preparations to do it already.
14:56What?
14:57Well, it's going to be Israel, yeah.
14:59And where's the temple going to be built?
15:02In Jerusalem.
15:03And are they going to be worshiping God the right way?
15:08No, they're still going to be doing it the wrong way.
15:12So you have to understand that the Jews at that particular time are part of the problem.
15:18So what's God going to do?
15:20He's going to wipe out Jerusalem a third time.
15:23Why?
15:24He's going to cleanse the whole thing because what's going to happen during the millennium?
15:29What's going to come down from heaven?
15:31The what?
15:31The city.
15:32What city?
15:33The city.
15:34The city.
15:36The new Jerusalem.
15:38It's on the tip of your tongue, wasn't it?
15:40It's just the line.
15:42And the ground has to be cleansed in order for him to do that.
15:47It has to be made holy again.
15:49And he's going to do that.
15:52In chapter 18, he talks about Babylon's destruction.
15:58He talks about how the earth reacts.
16:03And this will tell you how many people are left on which side.
16:06But he says, earth mourns, but heaven rejoices.
16:11And who's going to destroy Babylon, which is really a mystery?
16:17Babylon.
16:18It's really Jerusalem.
16:19Who's going to destroy it?
16:21He is.
16:22He is.
16:23He did it the first time.
16:25He did it the second time.
16:26He's going to do it the third time.
16:27He used somebody to do it the first and second time.
16:30And believe it or not, he's going to use somebody the third time.
16:33And what nation is going to help him destroy it the third time?
16:36Who's left?
16:37The Muslims.
16:38Yeah.
16:39As a matter of fact, it says that another Muslim is going to go into the Holy of Holies
16:44and declare themselves to be God and wants to be worshipped.
16:47Chapter 19.
16:49This is such a big deal, destruction of this,
16:54that heaven and the believers understand what the significance of this is,
17:02and they rejoice over the destruction of Babylon.
17:09And when that starts, guess who's coming back?
17:12Yeah.
17:13Yeah.
17:14This is the second coming.
17:17Jesus says, well, they finally got it right.
17:19Now it's time to go back and set up the millennium.
17:22So the second coming happens.
17:25Of course, he's got a bunch of armies out there he's still got to help get rid of.
17:30Well, there's a big battle, and it's called what?
17:34Armageddon.
17:36And there's a plane.
17:38If you get your Bible out and look, there's a plane.
17:43I think you can see this.
17:46Yeah.
17:46There's a little tongue sticking out right here and a river that flows down right here.
17:52And this is the plains of Megiddo, just north of Mount Carmel.
17:59And that's where the Battle of Armageddon gets its name because it's going to be fought on the plains of
18:06Megiddo.
18:08Now, after the Battle of Armageddon, the beast and the false prophet are put where?
18:18In where?
18:19Hades.
18:20In the bottomless pit.
18:22Never to return.
18:25And that ends the Great Tribulation.
18:29Then, in chapter 20, Satan is put in the abyss.
18:35And why it has different names for all these, I don't know.
18:38But there's someplace different he's going to be put.
18:41He's not punished yet.
18:42He's just put in storage for 1,000 years.
18:47And that's just in verses 1 to 3.
18:52And then in 4 through 6, the first resurrection of those that died during the Tribulation takes place.
19:03And then 7 through 9 is the final rebellion.
19:08And this is after the 1,000-year reign of Christ.
19:11And what does Christ do at the end of the 1,000 years?
19:15Guess who he lets out?
19:17You know, John Lennon had a song called Give Peace a Chance.
19:21This is the proof that peace doesn't work.
19:24If we don't live under rules, and it's God's rules, then it'll never work.
19:29And that's what the whole kingdom afterwards is going to be about.
19:34And after 1,000 years of perfect peace and everybody having no problems at all,
19:38all the food they need, no sickness, no illness, nothing,
19:42Satan gets out and starts another rebellion against God.
19:45And then in verse 10, Satan is put in the lake of fire.
19:52Different names for it all.
19:55And then the second resurrection takes place.
20:00And I'm assuming because Satan got out and led an insurrection that a lot of good people died,
20:05and God's going to raise them.
20:07But I don't know that.
20:09Some of these things are not.
20:11God doesn't tell us everything.
20:12You understand that.
20:14He just doesn't tell us what's going to happen and who is going to be affecting.
20:17We're going to be up at the marriage supper of the Lamb, though.
20:23And then to round all this stuff out, there's chapter 21, which talks about the new heaven, earth,
20:33and the new Jerusalem, which all come down and land on the new heaven and the new earth permanently.
20:42During the tribulation, during the millennial kingdom of Christ,
20:47the new Jerusalem comes down and floats above the ground and never sits down on it.
20:55Too many battles, too many deaths.
20:59And this is when the second death takes place,
21:02and all the people who didn't believe, they get thrown in the lake of fire.
21:06And this is the first seven verses.
21:09And this is verse 8.
21:12And 9 through 27 talks about the Lamb, the Bride, and the new Jerusalem.
21:22And in chapter 22, it talks about how everything is going to start over, a new start.
21:29Oh, I didn't have a whole lot of room.
21:32And so, the new start, that's in the first 16 verses, and then in 15 verses.
21:44And then 16 through 17, Jesus gives us a new command, and it doesn't say what it is.
21:52Then, in 18 and 19 is the warning, and he's very specific about it.
21:59I'm just going to read it to you.
22:01For I testify unto everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this book.
22:06If anyone should add to these things, the plagues that are written in this book, God shall add to them.
22:16So he says, don't add anything to it.
22:18You know what one of the biggest movements right now is about Bibles, is that our Bible doesn't have enough
22:28books.
22:29You heard that?
22:31We have 66 books, and there's 20 or something more that come out of Egypt.
22:42Is that where it comes from?
22:44No?
22:45Yeah.
22:46Is it?
22:48It's called the Ethiopian Bible, and they're adding books to the Bible.
22:53And they're books that will confuse you if you read them.
22:56I'm just telling you ahead of time.
22:58You don't need an Ethiopian Bible.
22:59We've got 66 books that have been preserved for 2,000 years.
23:07And the council in Laodicea, or in Constantinople, was the one that decided which books were inspired enough to be
23:19considered part of the canon that we now have as the 66 books.
23:24So you don't need to be confused by it.
23:27There's all kinds of funny tales and trails that go in there.
23:33But he says, if you add to it, you'll get the plagues too.
23:37So some people are going to suffer that.
23:40And then he says, if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy.
23:45And this is the hard part.
23:46He says, God shall take away his part from the tree of life.
23:51Now what does that mean?
23:52You're going to end up in that fire.
23:57Out of the tree of life, out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
24:01book.
24:02And then in 20 and 21 is the conclusion.
24:08Does it not make sense anymore?
24:12It doesn't make sense any less.
24:15I like that.
24:18Now I've got a better copy of this.
24:20And if any of you want it, I'll bring it next week.
24:25You cannot read the book of Revelation and figure it out.
24:29I did my first outline of the book of Revelation, I don't know, 40 years ago.
24:36And I actually wrote a book called the book of Revelation.
24:41And that was probably 30 years ago.
24:45And 20 years ago, I taught through the whole book of Revelation.
24:49But I still didn't get it right.
24:51And these are just attempts to get it right.
24:53And I finally figured out you can't read it in order.
24:57Some prophecies in the Old Testament are written out of order.
25:02Why does He do that?
25:04Why does God dictate the books of the Bible out of order?
25:09Yeah.
25:10He wants you to be miners, not just sifting through the dirt, okay?
25:15He wants you to dig for what's there.
25:17So it's a burden on us to really try to understand what Scripture says
25:23by digging deeper and harder and lasting longer.
25:27The whole reason for the church to have Bible study at all
25:31is to impart some of that depth to everybody.
25:37So don't do this.
25:39Don't do that.
25:40If you want to read it and make it make sense,
25:43I'll give you an outline to go by so that it makes more sense.
25:47You'd be surprised what you'll get out of it in depth that you didn't get out of it before
25:53if you just go through and read it because it has a reason to be read that way.
25:57Does it look there?
25:58It does.
26:01And it's a great visual.
26:04I put together a chart like that 20 years ago.
26:08And it never made me happy.
26:12I'm not sure this one does either.
26:13That's not the point of it.
26:15But the point is to help me get everything out of it I can.
26:18And you've got to read the parts together that are together
26:20in order to get the deeper meaning out of it.
26:25And I haven't read it this way enough times yet.
26:29And I'm not saying I have or that I know the right way to do it.
26:35Don't get me wrong.
26:36I'm still trying just like you should be.
26:41So let's sing Shine Jesus Shine
26:44and hope that He'll give us the light we need
26:46to understand what He has written for us.
26:50And then I'll pray for clarity at the end.
26:52Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word
26:56and pray that You'll help us to so conform our lives
26:59to Your Word that doing Your will
27:02becomes second nature.
27:04If there are any here that are not saved,
27:07help us to lead them into Your kingdom
27:10and help us to bring peace to their hearts.
27:14For we ask it all in Jesus' name.
27:16Amen.
27:18Amen.
27:25Amen.
27:27Amen.
27:28Amen.
27:32Amen.
27:33Amen.
27:33Amen.
27:34Amen.
27:35Amen.
