00:04Good morning, this is a historical day for the United States Congress.
00:10We have listened to people all across America who have kept up with
00:17the whole Epstein investigation and are outraged by the obvious fact that men
00:25and women for that matter of great power and great wealth from all
00:29across the world have been able to get away with a lot of heinous crimes
00:36and they haven't been held accountable and they haven't even had to answer
00:39questions about what they knew and when they knew it.
00:44Today, we hope to be able to do as we did yesterday and continue to bring some
00:50of the most powerful people in the world in to answer questions.
00:54Again, no one's accusing anyone of any wrongdoing, but I think the American
00:58people have a lot of questions and our house oversight committee is committed
01:04to getting answers.
01:05We're committed to transparency.
01:06We've already seen a lot of very powerful people who have been held accountable
01:11by having to resign in disgrace from various boards all over the world.
01:16We're going to continue to seek the truth, try to figure out how the government
01:22failed the victims and try to hopefully hold more people accountable.
01:27That's what the purpose of this investigation is.
01:30I will say this.
01:31It's very difficult to get people in for these depositions that have great power
01:37and great wealth.
01:38And I used yesterday and today as an example.
01:41It took seven months, seven months to get the Clintons in here.
01:45But we've got them in here and we look forward to answering to asking lots of
01:50questions that I think any curious media outlet in America would have.
01:55Yesterday, Miss Clinton deferred a lot of questions to her husband today.
01:59There were at least a dozen times when she said, you'll have to ask my husband
02:03that I can't answer that.
02:05So we already had a big portfolio of questions for him and that increased yesterday.
02:10So we look forward to that.
02:12We'll be happy to answer a couple of questions.
02:13Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman.
02:13Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman.
