00:00I did have a Philly cheesesteak, but like a vegan version.
00:04Uh-huh.
00:04And how was that, Angauri?
00:06I actually loved it.
00:07I guess if you're used to, if you've trained yourself, that that tastes good.
00:14Hi, I'm Jennifer Garner.
00:16I'm Angauri Rice.
00:17Between the two of us, we've shot in some pretty cool locations.
00:21Today we're going to figure out who knows their filming locations best.
00:25May the best man win.
00:31Where's that?
00:32Times Square.
00:34I was like, hang on a second.
00:35This is 13 going on 30.
00:37I popped out of the top of that limo.
00:39It was so magical.
00:42I was Jennerink, Jennerink with me.
00:44Did people figure out where you were filming?
00:46Did you have like people taking pictures?
00:48Not in this case because it was night and we were just going through and there was just
00:53a camera kind of up on me.
00:54I don't really remember.
00:55I would go back and have that night again in a heartbeat if I could.
00:59How old are you anyway?
01:0113.
01:02Me too!
01:05Oh my gosh.
01:07Okay.
01:08That is Spider-Man Far From Home.
01:12And I'm up there.
01:14I'm stuck!
01:15Help us!
01:16Help!
01:17And this was a Ferris wheel and it was in a small town called Liberets in the Czech Republic.
01:22Was it very high up?
01:23It was pretty high.
01:25Did you have snacks?
01:26Yeah.
01:27I had snacks in my little bag.
01:28Did you have to pee?
01:29I did not have to pee.
01:30Thank goodness.
01:31Yeah.
01:31I was dehydrated.
01:33That's what you really want to have planned appropriately.
01:36Yeah.
01:36And they sent us up with a Nintendo Switch.
01:38It was so fun.
01:39That's amazing.
01:39So we actually had a party.
01:40Okay.
01:41Yeah.
01:41Very good.
01:42Okay.
01:43This is Yes Day.
01:45Alias.
01:46Yes.
01:47I shot here both.
01:49For both Alias and Yes Day.
01:50It's in Los Angeles.
01:53And I want to say it's like in like a Malibu Canyon.
01:59It's in Compton.
02:00Okay.
02:02This is in Compton.
02:04I did not remember that.
02:06Do you want to guess the season and the episode?
02:10Nope.
02:11I have no idea.
02:11What is it?
02:12So season one, episode four, A Broken Heart.
02:15Oh.
02:16So early, early on.
02:17Yeah.
02:17That's very early on.
02:19Just for context, that would be 2001.
02:22That's 25 years ago.
02:23This was meant to be Morocco.
02:25It looks stunning.
02:27Yeah.
02:28Actually, Alias was all shot in Los Angeles.
02:31And of course, the thing was that we went somewhere different in every episode.
02:36And our location scouts and our producers, the amount of work they went into, the amount
02:43of effort they put into like finding the whole world in LA.
02:46And it exists.
02:52Huh.
02:53Oh, we've stumped her.
02:55Oh, is this mayor of Easttown?
02:58It is.
02:59So this would have been outside of Philadelphia.
03:01This is Pennsylvania.
03:02It's Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
03:04That Delco accent is very specific.
03:07Feed it and give it clean water and make sure it's not swimming in its own belt.
03:11I remember this night actually.
03:12Yes.
03:13This was my first full night shoot.
03:16Ever in your life?
03:17Because you were over 18?
03:19Yes.
03:20So I had just turned 18 and yeah, 6 PM start, 6 AM finish.
03:28How did you feel about it?
03:29I felt unwell by the end.
03:31You all right?
03:32You all right?
03:35We filmed where it was set.
03:37You know, we filmed in Pennsylvania.
03:39It was set in Pennsylvania.
03:40That show especially is so rooted in place.
03:43And Brad, the writer, like it was just so specific.
03:47And I think that's what connected with people.
03:48And like, I'm so proud to be a part of it.
03:51You were so good in this show.
03:54You were so good.
03:55We don't even talk about him anymore.
03:57And I hate you for that.
03:58I hate you.
03:59Okay.
03:59What's your Wawa order?
04:00Do you have one?
04:01Oh my gosh.
04:03Wawa order.
04:04Okay.
04:04So while we were filming Mare of Easttown, I was vegetarian.
04:09And now I'm vegan.
04:11So, but I, so I did have a Philly cheesesteak, but like a vegan version.
04:17Uh huh.
04:18In, there is one.
04:19And how was that in gallery?
04:20I actually loved it.
04:21Okay.
04:22It was great.
04:22I guess if you're used to, if you've trained yourself that that tastes good.
04:30What the hell's that supposed to mean?
04:32Oh boy.
04:33Okay.
04:33Hang on.
04:33Let me see.
04:35Okay.
04:35I'm going to guess.
04:37I don't know, but something tells me this is Juno.
04:41Yes.
04:42We were either in Vancouver, Washington or Vancouver, Vancouver.
04:48It was beautiful.
04:49It was a night shoot because we closed down part of a shopping mall.
04:53And when we made this, Jason and I, our daughters were like one.
04:59Mine was, my first born was one and his was a little younger.
05:02Mm.
05:03And now they're 20 and 19.
05:06So it was a long time ago.
05:08Grow up.
05:09If I have to wait for you to become Kurt Cobain, I'm never going to be a mother.
05:14But this was a beautiful scene with Elliot Page.
05:19Oh God, that was magical.
05:23I love Vancouver.
05:24I love Vancouver.
05:24I've spent a couple of years in Vancouver.
05:27Oh my gosh.
05:27The food is so good in Vancouver.
05:30Yeah.
05:30And if you go, make sure you go to Granville Island, go to Vancouver Island.
05:35Love Granville.
05:36Drive up to Deep Cove.
05:38Ooh, what is that?
05:39It's North Van, I believe.
05:44But that is where I lived when I was pregnant with my daughter.
05:50And there was a place with really good donuts.
05:53And I don't know what it's called, but I was intensely serious about the donuts.
05:59Oh, I think this is from the opening sequence of Mean Girls.
06:04And the opening sequence takes place in Kenya.
06:06We did not go to Kenya, unfortunately.
06:09I wish.
06:09That would have been so awesome.
06:11Yeah.
06:11But all of Mean Girls was filmed in New Jersey.
06:15And what's so cool about this shot, actually, is that the whole opening sequence was done all in one take.
06:22So...
06:22Was it really?
06:23Yeah.
06:24That was ambitious.
06:25So ambitious.
06:26Because it starts in this garage where they kind of like do the opening song in this garage.
06:31And then they press a clicker button and the garage door lifts up and suddenly like we're in Kenya.
06:37And then like the tent door opens.
06:39That was all one.
06:39There was like a sneaky cut between the tent door and the school.
06:42But they actually built a garage kind of in this field so that they could actually do it in one.
06:48It was a dance with our Steadicam operator who was just such a legend.
06:53So for this shot, he was like on the back of a tractor and then he was like running and
06:58it was so fun.
06:59Ooh.
06:59This is the Santa Monica.
07:03Santa Monica, beautiful Los Angeles.
07:05Last thing you told me, I think it's episode one.
07:09This is season two.
07:10I boxed with Flacco, who is my boxing coach in real life, who I boxed with early this morning.
07:15My knuckles are all scroogey.
07:16So the thing I love about our show, I loved the first season how we went to Austin and then
07:24we went to Sausalito.
07:26And this season...
07:27We go to Paris!
07:28We go to Paris!
07:30We went to Paris and we went to Marseille.
07:32Yeah.
07:33I didn't make it to Marseille, but Paris was lovely.
07:36Paris was incredible.
07:37It looks stunning on screen.
07:39And also, I wanted to text you when I was watching the episode, your outfits in Marseille and Paris.
07:45Oh!
07:46To tie for.
07:47I love this.
07:47How do you guys think you did?
07:49I mean, we...
07:50We know our places!
07:52A hundred percent!
07:53We know where we feed!
07:54We knew exactly what we were doing!
07:56Keep it going!
07:57We're not scared of you guys!
07:59More quiz questions!
08:00I love trivia!
08:02Condé Nast Traveler.
08:04We'll see you on the next one!
