00:00So I was in the wilderness. There was nothing to write home about, about my career.
00:04And honestly speaking, my faith as well. I was crushed, but here I am today by the grace of God.
00:11So there is no formula to life. Do not compare yourself with anyone's timeline. Your time is coming.
00:22Grace and peace to you. My name is Priska and I'm connecting from the Republic of Ireland.
00:28And so I'm here to give my testimony in the area of my career, which was dormant and stagnant for
00:37so many years.
00:38My story goes like this. In 2016, I graduated with a degree, a Bachelor of Accounting Science.
00:45But from that moment on, a moment that was meant to be a starting, a start for my life, for
00:50my career, turned into a nightmare.
00:53All of my efforts by myself to apply in different companies and different institutes did not bear any fruit.
01:01So what I ended up doing at that time, I took up a job in a call center as years
01:06went by.
01:07I tried to apply in different places, but it never worked out. So I stayed in retail for a while.
01:13I was in sales and customer service. And then in the year 2022, by the grace of God, I managed
01:22to relocate to Ireland.
01:24And I thought to myself, OK, this is a new environment.
01:28Let me give myself another chance and really trust and believe that God has put me in this land to
01:34change my life.
01:35So what I did is I went back to school to study again, another qualification for self-development and to
01:42improve myself still in the field of accountancy.
01:46So that qualification, which I completed in the month of August in 2024.
01:53So again, all of my efforts to apply were met with disappointment.
01:59I tried everything that I could. Even I applied for jobs that were less than what I was qualified for.
02:07But even in that, nothing came of it really.
02:10So people that were around me started to encourage me to just apply for anything.
02:15And what I'm looking for will meet me along the way.
02:18But after my graduation, I stayed for about three months or so not working because I was still believing that
02:24God would do something,
02:25you know, in the area of my field of study. But nothing came of that.
02:31So I ended up then taking up a job in a factory, in a food manufacturing factory where I was
02:38doing quality control.
02:39By that time, when that job came through, I stopped applying completely for anything that related to accounting.
02:46And I didn't have any faith anymore that things will change or that I'll ever be able to do anything
02:51with my career, really.
02:52So I continued working there. But in January of 2025, there was a post that I saw that had to
03:00do with my qualification,
03:01of which I told myself that by the weekend, I'll give myself time to give to give it another try.
03:08I mean, you know, it is January. It's a new year. Your faith is high.
03:11You're thinking, OK, maybe something will come out of it.
03:13But unfortunately, there were storms that weekend where I was supposed to give myself time to apply for that post.
03:19So, again, my faith was really running low at that time.
03:24But for some reason, I prayed to God and I asked them for the grace to tell them that the
03:29events were beyond my control.
03:31And I would like to be given a chance for my application to be accepted, of which that happened as
03:37well.
03:37And I think it was in February or so when I saw the on YouTube,
03:41I saw that there will be a Let Hearts Arise service that was going to be happening on the 15th
03:47of March in Birmingham.
03:49So by faith, I wrote in as well.
03:52And I told myself I'll be there because apart from the stagnation and the disappointment that was happening in my
03:58career life,
03:59I was also experiencing nightmares, spiritual attacks in the form of a spiritual husband.
04:05So I came to the prayer land by the grace of God, as the people of God saw me being
04:11prayed for.
04:33What I was holding there was my qualifications, my recent qualifications,
04:38and the form that I had applied for, for this particular post.
04:43It was around April.
04:44I was scrolling on Facebook.
04:46I see the post being advertised again.
04:49And now my faith is like, OK, what is happening?
04:52But by the grace of God, I just told myself that, you know what,
04:56the prayers that are offered in faith do bring results.
04:59And I encourage myself to apply again.
05:02And so just to give the viewers a background.
05:04So the post that I applied for is within the civil service here in Ireland, the Irish Tech Institute.
05:10That's where I had applied for the post.
05:13And then now, this time around, when it came out again, it was being advertised by the civil service by
05:19themselves.
05:19And I applied again.
05:21By the grace of God, the interview came.
05:24It was around June when the interview came.
05:26And then by the end of July, by the grace of God, something that had never happened in my career,
05:32I got an email to say that I was successful.
05:36So because this was a nationwide search, I know that I was candidate number 660.
05:42So I do not know the exact number, but it could have been 700 or 800 people that had applied
05:47for the post.
05:48And my overall position in that, it was number 53.
05:52And we had an option as well to choose the county or the city, if I could say, where you
05:57want to work from.
05:58My first choice, I was number 3.
06:01And then the second choice, by the grace of God, I was number 7.
06:04So my results were really good.
06:06The interview outcome was very successful, of which I truly give credit to God for all of that.
06:13I can't take all the credit and say I was well prepared at research.
06:16No, it was the grace of God.
06:18It was the divine hand of God that was upon my life.
06:21Because if that was the case, then my previous applications or my efforts in the past concerning my area would
06:27have been a success.
06:29So once the results came again, it was another time to wait.
06:33I waited in faith to hear when my offer will come.
06:36Lo and behold, in October, I got my offer that I'll be starting on the 6th of November 2025,
06:43of which yesterday marked three months in this new role, which is in my field of study in accounting as
06:51a tax auditor and a compliance executive officer in my work.
06:57So I'm here to give glory to God and to inspire and encourage someone.
07:02And also in the area of the nightmares since then, I mean, I had even forgotten that's something that I
07:08put in my prayer request.
07:09I haven't experienced any of that.
07:11So far, yesterday was three months and the feedback that I'm getting from my manager is positive.
07:17My work is improving.
07:19In the application itself, there was the advertised salary.
07:22But when I had to sign the contract, the salary had actually increased as well.
07:27So just to testify of the goodness of God, you think your career is stuck, you're not earning much.
07:32I was working in effect, you're not earning much.
07:34But my earnings literally grew in a huge difference during that time.
07:39So I'm experiencing the joy of being favored by God.
07:44When the offer came and I accepted it, number one, that meant that I had to move to a different
07:49city.
07:49So as most people could be aware, if those that are not aware, Ireland currently is facing a housing crisis.
07:57So there are issues with housing and actually finding a place.
08:00So I went ahead in faith without knowing where I would stay.
08:04My employer did not even know that I didn't have a place to stay for relocation purposes.
08:11But I just accepted the role and I trusted that God would do something about it.
08:15So I tried to look for places.
08:18Nothing came of it.
08:19And the time was getting close to my starting date.
08:22But by the grace of God, I prayed to God really to touch one of my friends' hearts,
08:27to give me a place to crash, to stay while I was waiting on my own place to stay.
08:33So in a place where it's so hard to find accommodation, where people really wait for months
08:38and some people wait years to get accommodation.
08:40I stayed with my friend for only two weeks.
08:43And then after that, I had my own place to stay by the grace of God, by the favor of
08:49God,
08:49honestly, taking into consideration the current challenges that are happening in the nation
08:54concerning accommodation and housing.
08:57Well, my advice, first of all, is to never, ever, no matter what the circumstances that you're going through,
09:03do not give up on God, take it from me, for someone.
09:07Imagine graduating in 2016.
09:09I mean, that's almost nine years till 2025.
09:13Nothing came of it.
09:14I mean, I experienced the pain, the shame, and the depression that comes with having a qualification.
09:20There was a time where I didn't want to tell anyone that I'm as educated as I am
09:24or to talk about my qualifications or my aspirations or dreams, because I thought that would never come to anything.
09:30I mean, I tried everything, all the advice that you can get online to make your CV this way,
09:35to present yourself at this skill and that, but it never amounted to anything.
09:40But I would like to say today, I am a living testimony of the goodness of God.
09:45I am a living testimony that God does not abandon his own.
09:49And my reference will come from the story of Joseph.
09:52I mean, we see that in the beginning, he had a great sense of greatness within himself.
09:58God showed him the visions of his great future, but his natural circumstances were literally standing against him.
10:05His own brothers sold him as a slave.
10:08And when he was in Potiphar's house, we all know what happened there.
10:13He was accused wrongly and thrown into prison.
10:16So now imagine someone seeing that great future or having a deep sense of greatness within themselves,
10:23but the natural circumstances were just against him.
10:27But in the end, we all know that he's set on the throne of leadership.
10:31So my encouragement will be to not give up on God and also meditate on Isaiah 43 verses 19.
10:39That talks about God making a way in the wilderness.
10:42So I was in the wilderness.
10:43There was nothing to write home about, about my career.
10:46And honestly speaking, my faith as well.
10:48I was crushed, but here I am today by the grace of God.
