00:00The Simulated Birth Rectification Act, also known as Republic Act 11222,
00:05streamlines the legalization of adoptions by helping adoptive parents correct and legalize birth records.
00:11The law cuts the adoption process from three or more years to about one year,
00:16preventing tampering with birth certificates and other documents.
00:20Simultaneously, the National Authority for Child Care continues coordinating rescue operations for children or infants being sold online.
00:28Assistant Secretary Rowena Magalental urged that poverty is no excuse for selling children
00:34and encouraged families to seek help from the DSWD, local governments or social workers,
00:40including access to sustainable livelihood programs.
00:43She also stressed that children without guardians will be placed with licensed foster parents or caring agencies
00:49to ensure their safety and protection from abuse or exploitation.
