00:02Pearls of Wisdom by Ibn Taymiyyah
00:04Disease of criticizing all the time
00:07Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, was born in Haran, an old city within the Arabian Peninsula between
00:13Syria and Iraq, on the 10th around the 12th of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, the year 661 Hijri.
00:22He and his family were later forced to flee to Damascus due to the occupation by the Tatars.
00:27He came from a family of scholars. At an early age, he amazed his teachers at the strength of his
00:34memory, keen intelligence, and depth of understanding.
00:37Ibn Taymiyyah was one of the greatest scholars in which his knowledge still lives on to this day.
00:43The Ummah Voice Podcast presents our audience a segment of his quotes during the holy month of Ramadan.
00:50One of Ibn Taymiyyah's wisdom quotes is,
00:52Some people have the disease of criticizing all the time. They forget the good about others and only mention their
00:59faults.
00:59They are like flies that avoid the good and pure places and land on the bad and wounds.
01:05This is because of the evil within the self and the spoiled nature.
01:10Flies are drawn to filth, wounds, dirt, decay, and ignore the pure places.
01:16People are at times drawn to the negative traits of people, often overlooking the positive ones.
01:23Individuals who are concentrating on the negative traits and can't see beyond that then they need to take a closer
01:31look at what is within themselves.
01:33So don't be the fly that is drawn to filth.
