00:00Today, we have the story of talent, dedication, and purpose.
00:04Joining us is the newly crowned Miss World Philippines 2026, Asia Rose Simpson.
00:09Asia, welcome back to Rise and Shine Pilipinas.
00:11Yes, thank you guys for having me again. It's an honor.
00:14This is the third time that me and my siblings, well, my siblings are backstage or backstage.
00:18But thank you guys for allowing us to come here. It's such an honor and blessing.
00:21Thank you for coming back here with your title already.
00:25We are so proud. It seems like Rise and Shine Pilipinas is part of your journey.
00:28Yes, of course. Because when you guessed it here, you were just Miss World Quezon City and now you're Miss
00:34World Philippines.
00:34How does it feel to have this title?
00:37It's unreal. It's been a couple of weeks since I won the title and, you know, it takes a lot
00:42of getting used to because it was, I wouldn't say state level, but it was Quezon City.
00:47Now it's Philippines. So the schedule has been very hectic and unstable.
00:53And I'm just still wrapping my head around the fact that overnight my life changed.
00:58But I'm so grateful to the organization, to ALV Pageant Circle and all their people, as well as the Quezon
01:05City, not government, organization for allowing me that chance.
01:10And now I'm just so proud to represent the Philippines, my home, and I hope to make you guys proud
01:15as well.
01:16Congratulations.
01:17Thank you. Thank you so much.
01:18You mentioned that your life changed overnight. What are some of the changes that you've experienced already now that you
01:23are Miss World Philippines?
01:25Well, one major change that my dad and my sister, Genesis, was very excited about was that my social media
01:31account went from 600 to like 3,000 overnight.
01:36But also just there's a lot more people watching my journey and it gives me a bigger platform and a
01:41lot more influence, which is really it's overwhelming.
01:44But it's amazing as well. I'm so grateful to God that he's trusted me with this platform and with this
01:50influence and with this title.
01:51So in the pageant, you want talent, twin suit, and of course, beauty with a purpose.
01:58And you mentioned in an interview that beauty with a purpose for you is a lifestyle.
02:03So how do you plan to use this platform that you have, this new title that you have, to widen
02:08your advocacy?
02:08Yeah, sure. So first, let's start with my advocacy. It's called SEED, which stands for Sports and Dance Initiative.
02:15It's an initiative that advocates for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of today's youth through sports and dance.
02:23Personally, I have found the power of sports and dance because when I was around three years old, my dad
02:28started teaching me dance and gymnastics.
02:29And as a homeschool student, we often lack social connections, but we found it through doing auditions and competitions through
02:38dance.
02:38And then back in 2023, we started pickleball. We started playing pickleball and we fell in love with it.
02:43And then we got connected with several different organizations that uses sports not only to reach different countries,
02:50like the International Sports Federation and Pickle Lab, Batam Pickleball and the Pickle Bells.
02:56And they are using sports, pickleball specifically, as a way to reach people in need, to not only equip athletes,
03:02but to also advocate for mental health and to help youth get active and more exercise.
03:09And it helps with your mental capacity as well.
03:11I remember your question to the final answer, rather, to the final question.
03:16It's somehow related to your advocacy.
03:18I'm so grateful.
03:19And how to use social media responsibly.
03:21Yes.
03:22All right. Now, let's talk about this win that you have.
03:25I wonder, to whom do you offer this win and this title that you have now?
03:31Always and forever to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
03:35All glory belongs to Him.
03:36Every crown belongs to Him anyway.
03:39And so, I am just a representative.
03:41I am just an ambassador.
03:42And so, all the honor and glory goes to Him forever.
03:46Really? All glory to Him.
03:48Now, your family plays a very important role in your journey.
03:52Very, very much.
03:53So, tell us about how your family actually helped you and supported you all throughout this Miss World journey
03:59until you reach that title that you have.
04:01Honestly, I think a better question is, what did they not help me with?
04:04Because they are coming to Him.
04:05Seriously, they, as much as I was in the pageant, they were doing the pageant behind the scenes.
04:10I mean, they were my coaches, my trainers.
04:12My dad helped me with the wardrobe and the social media and the passerella.
04:18And the one thing that he always tells me is warmth and competence towards people and the way that I
04:23speak and the way that I act.
04:24My mom, she taught me Q&A and interview.
04:28Wow.
04:28My sister, Maya, she helped me with passerella because she's a natural.
04:32And she teaches me what she knows.
04:34And my sister, Jen, man, she's into videography and photography.
04:40And so, she helped us with the videos and the posts.
04:43And she's actually the one who put together my BWOP video.
04:46And so, it's an honor for her as well.
04:48She was so excited because we won BWOP.
04:49And my brother, Josiah, he's such a trooper.
04:52He's just, he doesn't understand all of pageantry because, you know, all boy.
04:57But he's in it for the long run.
04:59And he's just been so supportive.
05:02I'm so grateful for my family.
05:03I would not be here without them because as much as I did the pageant, they did the pageant as
05:08well.
05:08And so, whatever you're seeing, it's just a conglomeration of all the teamwork that we had.
05:13And I will never take them for granted because they're most of the reason why I'm here.
05:18Well, congratulations to you and to your whole family.
05:21It seems like you have your own beauty camp composed of your family members.
05:25We can call that the Simpson Beauty Project Camp.
05:28The Simpson Beauty Camp.
05:28Why not?
05:29Why not?
05:30You have a beautiful and unique way of passarel or your walk.
05:34I wonder if you have a name for your walk because some of the beauty queens really name their unique
05:40kind of walk.
05:41You know, I don't have a specific name yet.
05:43But I think, you know, you play around things in your mind.
05:47So, maybe something to do with sunrise because my name means sunrise or resurrection, Asia Rose.
05:53Wonderful.
05:54So, how are you preparing now for the Miss World competition?
05:58Yes.
05:58So, basically, it continues to be what I did for the Quezon City pageant.
06:03We have to do passarela and fitness, Q&A and all sorts of things.
06:08And so, now we're just going to continue what we're doing as well and take it up a notch, get
06:13help and sponsors as well.
06:16And really, also the mental game.
06:18I have to be ready for the audience, the people on the internet who see me and whatever questions they
06:24throw at me.
06:24And really, it's a matter of just being prepared holistically.
06:28Well, we wish you all the best and Vance, congratulations.
06:32We hope that when you come back here for the fourth time, you will win Miss World.
06:36That would be amazing.
06:38Thank you very much and congratulations.
06:39Thank you, guys.
