00:00We have this spider that's been with us for months now.
00:04We've named her Clyde.
00:07She was very personable in a sense that she would come up
00:11and crawl on her hand without getting her used to it.
00:13Yeah, she was furious with us.
00:16We decided to let her stay, and as time went on,
00:20we started to observe her more closely
00:23and through this cute bond with her.
00:28At first, Clyde had really become a little asset to our school bus.
00:33She would be eating all of the pests in our garden
00:36and keeping the plants alive and well.
00:41Clyde, we have found out, is a cannibal,
00:43and we have noticed Clyde eating other spiders throughout the bus.
00:57Before I was Clyde, another spider, Sprout.
01:00We noticed Sprout living in our bus about a year ago,
01:06and she just wasn't bothering me.
01:09She always was either in the garden or in the skylight.
01:11And she actually loved nestling up inside a book to sleep.
01:15When we'd wake up in the morning, we'd be like,
01:17Sprout, where are you?
01:18And she would, like, crawl out from the skylight,
01:20and she'd peer over the edge,
01:21and it's almost like she's there to say hello in the morning.
01:24She really taught us so much about jumping spiders.
01:29And providing all these little things amenities
01:31for her to live the best life she can.
01:37Sprout is sweet little Sprout.
01:40She's very polite.
01:42Very mellow.
01:43But Clyde has a different personality than Sprout.
01:45She's very territorial.
01:47We're trying to come up with a way for them both to explore.
01:52We're thinking of creating some sort of elaborate tunnel system
01:56throughout the bus to keep both of them safe.
02:01We created this enclosure where she could feel safe,
02:04where we could feed her.
02:05We tried to make it homey for her.
02:07We have plants in there, books.
02:09She really liked it.
02:15We want to advocate for the spiders.
02:18You know, they really are an asset to our homes.
02:21You know, they keep the pests away.
02:23We've even had people had their fear quelled by seeing
02:27that these spiders really do have a personality.
02:29They mean no harm.
02:30I think that's pretty cool.
02:34I think that can help youurt.
02:36I think, do you, find a way G in.
02:37They begin science today,
