00:00We talk about the racism and the discrimination and the difference in outcomes that are so palpable for black women
00:09and their babies and for Asian women and their babies.
00:13But we have also heard, for example, and I have a roundtable on this this afternoon, from women who have
00:21suffered from mental health challenges who have particular experiences.
00:27Muslim families who have had particular experiences, LGBT plus families who have had particular experiences.
00:40So we really want to make sure that we shine a light on what is happening in terms of racism
00:47and discrimination, but also speak to those wider and other inequalities as well, including economic disadvantage.
00:55The thing that families and women talk about time and time again is the lack of listening, the lack of
01:03communication, the lack of explanation of what is going on.
01:08So that in and of itself, changing that would change the culture and the whole way that women and their
01:18families are viewed.
01:19But there are other things that we need to do, too, and those will come out in the final report.
