00:03Located four and a half hours from Perth, the Valley of the Giants treetop walk,
00:06it's a suspended walkway 40 metres above WA's famous and untouched forest area
00:11known for its towering tingle trees, some over 400 years old.
00:15In the 1970s, the Valley of the Giants was a locally known picnic spot and photo destination,
00:21made iconic by its hollowed out bases of the tingle trees.
00:24However, by the late 80s, the number of visitors to this area dramatically increased,
00:28causing one of the iconic trees to collapse due to stress and environmental damage.
00:32The treetop walk was suggested as a protection method for the forest,
00:36while offering the same magical experience for WA tourism.
00:39Now, the 600 metre treetop walk is one of the best activities to do in the Denmark region,
00:44with adult concession costing $21 per person.
00:46You can also explore the 500 metre walk around the forest floor for free,
00:50known as the Ancient Empire.
00:52Here, you can pose the iconic hollowed out roots of the tingle trees,
00:55which made the Valley of the Giants famous all those years ago.
