00:00I want to address a couple things. During the ranking member's opening statement, he talked about misinformation coming from this
00:08administration.
00:08And I just want to point out that the Biden Surgeon General, Dr. Murthy, was actually a court actually ruled
00:16against him in 2023, the Fifth Circuit Court for trying to censor free speech on social media.
00:24That's misinformation. And so for us to throw out an accusation like that with no evidence, when the ranking member
00:32was completely silent when that took place, it's really some hypocrisy there.
00:38When we start talking about health care not being affordable, the ranking member and I actually agree on that.
00:44The problem is you supported the same tools that got us to where health care is unaffordable because ACA, Affordable
00:52Health Care, which is completely unaffordable,
00:53has risen three times faster than inflation itself. Yet we still support it. Not we, you, the Democrats.
01:02I support a national health care program, which will cut the cost of health care.
01:06I'm sorry, it's my time.
01:07But you're attacking me.
01:08No, I'm pointing out facts.
01:09You're going to attack me. I'm going to respond.
01:10I'm pointing out facts. You can say what you want. I'm just pointing out facts.
01:14No, you're pointing out lines.
01:15The fact is that it has risen three times faster, and we know it. Yet we still want to sit
01:21here and defend it.
01:24The ranking member wants to talk about all the deaths that is supposedly going to be happening because of President
01:31Trump and Secretary Kennedy,
01:33because how dare they look at a health care system that is broken and unaffordable and try to make changes.
01:38But yet the definition of insanity is what?
01:41Doing the same thing, expecting different results, so we should just sit here and accept it?
01:45And how dare we look into vaccines to just simply look to see if maybe vaccines may be a partial
01:56cause to autism
01:57when it's rising at a rate faster than any country in the nation?
02:01How dare us look at science?
02:04Oh, my goodness.
02:05Science is supposed to be perfect.
02:07I thought science was always supposed to be studied.
02:10I'm for looking into it.
02:12As a father of six kids, yeah, I want to look into it.
02:15I want to know what's causing it, and I will turn over every stone.
02:18And so, Dr. Means, thank you for saying I want to turn over every stone.
02:21Good on you.
02:23I'm not a doctor.
02:24I'm not sitting here trying to say we shouldn't do something.
02:27I'm saying let's go after it.
02:29Let's look at it.
02:30Let's question what we're doing.
02:31Let's look at the health care system.
02:33We can agree on that one.
02:34I just don't want to socialize it.
02:35But we can agree that it is absolutely not affordable, 100% not affordable, yet it was supposed to be
02:42affordable.
02:42That's what we sold by Obamacare.
02:45So how about we work together and say, hey, so scrap ACA, admit it doesn't work, admit you guys made
02:49a mistake,
02:50and let's work at something with President Trump to make affordable health care healthy and affordable for everybody.
02:55But there's zero chance you guys could do that.
02:58Zero chance.
02:59Yet everybody we bring up here, you guys chastise for trying to make changes.
03:01God forbid we change and go after us and try to fix our broken system.
03:07Anyways, I ranted too long.
03:09Let's talk about some.
03:10Yes, you did.
03:12I'm sorry.
03:12I didn't ask your opinion on that.
03:14And if I cared about your opinion, I would ask you.
03:15But I don't care about your opinion.
03:17You're part of the system.
03:18You're part of the problem.
03:19You've been sitting here longer than I've even been alive.
03:21This is your problem.
03:23You should have fixed this a long time ago.
03:24You've been rel on it so long.
03:25What have you been doing?
03:26I've decided not to run for Surgeon General.
03:29You're the nominee.
03:30I've decided not to accept that nominee.
03:32That is definitely something we would never accept.
