00:00At the budget last year, I did two things. First of all, I removed some of the renewable
00:05obligations from energy bills and put them on general taxation because it is fairer that those
00:11with the broadest shoulders pay more to support building up our energy infrastructure here in
00:18the UK like we do with other infrastructure investments. But second, I reduced the costs
00:23and in fact cancelled the eco scheme altogether, which means that that cost no longer needs to
00:28be paid for by bill payers or indeed by taxpayers. So those are the changes that I made in the
00:34budget last year, which would take £150 off people's energy bills. And Ofgem have confirmed
00:41today that bills will be falling by around 7% from April the 1st this year, taking money
00:47off people's energy bills. And that is alongside the freezing prescription charges and the freezing
00:53rail fares that I set out in the budget.
