00:01I'm standing here in the Latrobe Valley and while it looks like a beautiful day in Victoria we're
00:07heading for a top of 29 from five o'clock this afternoon this area the Latrobe Valley is likely
00:12to receive an absolute pelting of rain. This is also going to happen across the states in some
00:18towns like Warragul. We're expecting wild weather in Melbourne as well and in Shepparton and Uroa
00:25and Mansfield and flash flooding is expected. Now there's also riverine floods expected in lots of
00:32places across Victoria as well. There are 17 advice level warnings in place for minor to moderate
00:38flooding but what they're most worried about is flash flooding. We do know that creek levels can
00:43rise very quickly. It happened just here at Tarelgon Creek only in August 2022. A 57 year old woman was
00:51walking her dog. She rolled up her trousers and that was the last time she was seen. She walked
00:55into the river and she was found drowned the next day which was very sad but something this community
01:01still remembers. So we are expecting these totals of 40 to 70 millimeters of rain and authorities are
01:08reminding people to stay clear of floodwaters. Do not drive through floodwaters. Do not drive on damaged
01:14roads and to just stay safe. Take higher ground if need be and stay vigilant. We are expecting this
01:21rain to fall heavily for six hours from five o'clock tonight so be careful.
