After weeks of persistent rain, wild weather has eased across New South Wales with parts of the state marking their wettest August in over a century. Despite skies clearing, flood warnings are still in place for some areas with rising water levels yet to peak.

00:07The skies have cleared but in north central New South Wales the risk of flooding remains.

00:25The SES expects the Namoi to peak on Saturday. Bordering the river, Gunnedah is no stranger to these conditions.

00:54In Port Macquarie, clean-up has already begun.

01:02SES crews are supporting clean-up operations as weather conditions continue to ease across the state.
01:09Since Monday, the New South Wales SES has responded to at least 16 flood rescues.

01:23Along the Hastings River, oyster farmers are also bracing for a hit to the hip pocket.
