00:09We're about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, at Raymond James Stadium, just north of downtown Tampa, as we
00:17bring you the NFL on EA Sports.
00:21Today we continue on with the John Madden Thanksgiving Celebration Weekend.
00:27We've got a good one in store.
00:30It's the Arizona Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
00:36On the visitors' sideline, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannick.
00:41His guys are in the midst of a brutal stretch.
00:44They have lost eight of their last nine.
00:47His counterpart on the Bucs sideline is Todd Bowles.
00:51His team looking for a spark, hoping their fans will give it to them here at home, as we are
00:57set to go.
00:59A welcome to you, Mike Tirico, along with Greg Olsen, Chase McLaughlin, set to get it started.
01:05And off we go from Tampa.
01:08So out comes the Arizona offense for the first time.
01:12They're going to be let out by their veteran single caller out of NC State.
01:16It's Jacoby Brissett.
01:18I think when you take a step back and you look at last week's loss, I think there was some
01:23good and there was some bad.
01:25And I think you can really say that about the entire team.
01:28The two touchdown passes were great.
01:30Of course, he's got a slot for giving the ball away with the interception.
01:33But I think if he continues to clean up some of his fundamentals, continue to improve his decision-making,
01:38and then on top of that, guys around him just have to continue to play better.
01:47They'll go play action here with Brissett.
01:51They'll be forced to just throw that one away.
01:54It's incomplete.
01:58Well, we have a moment while we take a look at the key inactives not playing in the ballgame here
02:03this afternoon.
02:06An early test to start this walk.

03:37So, the Buccaneers come out and Baker Mayfield leads it out.
03:41He has found a spot to be very comfortable.
03:45The former number one overall pick out of Oklahoma, who turned 30 in the offseason, and has done a nice
03:51job with the Buccaneers the last few years.
03:54Really solid all-around performance last week, Mike.
03:57And I think the biggest factor that led to the win is his ability to continue to protect the football.
04:02He executed the offense.
04:03Granted, exactly how they designed the week in practice.
04:06Now, it might not have been earth-shattering performance statistically.
04:10But they got the win.
04:11If you can continue to play that style of ball, it's going to be a tough group to match up
04:15with.
04:16Out of the pistol, it's Mayfield.
04:20That one just too far out in front, and it's incomplete.
04:24They do a really nice job defensively there, Mike, of not giving him a clear running lane once he broke
04:30the pocket.
04:31So, now he's trying to test his luck, extend this play as a passer, but to no avail.
04:36It is third and long.
04:41From the gun, it's Mayfield.
04:44A throw on left side, going to be intercepted.
04:47Picked off by Garrett Williams.
04:50And he won't be able to take it all the way in, but that is a great return.
04:55And they are set up first and goal.
04:59Well, we're getting a little test here early, Mike, to see just how easy is this team to rattle.
05:05Didn't look like they were able to get through that opening script that they had worked on all week.
05:09So, I'm going to be curious on this next drive.
05:11Do they stick to the plan?
05:12Do they pick up where they left off?
05:14Or is there a little bit of a reaction, or dare I say panic, to come out and make some
05:18adjustments in response to that early interception?
05:23And he can't hang on through the contact incompletely.
05:27Good job defensively to meet him just as the ball was arriving.
05:31It'll bring up second down.
05:34Full run.
05:36It's Di Mercado.
05:37And he's in!

05:42Touchdown, Arizona.
05:44It's his second touchdown of the year.
05:49But you think back to their first possession of this game, Mike, it resulted in a punt.
05:53Not exactly the fast start the coaches told us was so important.
05:58As this game unfolds, they get the ball back for possession, too.
06:02Now they try to find some rhythm, find their identity of the game plan, and they come away with six.
06:07So, that's how you bounce back in this league.
06:09It's not always going to be perfect.
06:11Really nice job settling into this game here with their second possession.

06:24On the return is Sean Tucker.
06:27And he'll be brought down just beyond the 25-yard line.
06:32The Buccaneers offense, and their running back, Bucky Irving, ready to hit the field again.
06:37He's been a workhorse in the backfield this season.
06:39Right there, amongst the league leaders, and rushing late in the campaign.
06:51Baker, going to give it to Irving.
06:53And good, hard running there.
06:56He'll push his way forward.
06:57Game of about five.
06:59There you get a look at his numbers on the ground a week ago, as a part of their victory.
07:13From the 32-yard line now, here's second and four.
07:20Here's a first-hand for their running back.
07:23He'll work his way forward for the three yards.
07:26Buda Baker active and making the tackle there.
07:30And while that run wasn't anything really to write home about,
07:34what it allows them to do, Mike, is keep everything in the playbook at their disposal.

07:40Now it's up to these coaches to dial up their best short yardage play and extend this drive.
07:46Well, what looked like an advantage for the offense, Mike, facing second and short now,
07:50has turned into a win for the defense.

09:46And a good short tackle right there.
09:49It stops him a good distance short in the marker.
09:52It sets up fourth down.
09:58And that's the thing of beauty.

10:26You want to see linebackers play downhill, Mike.
10:29Meaning there's not a lot of side-to-side pursuit.

10:35That's exactly what we saw out of this guy here.
10:37He's able to make the stop at the line of scrimmage and keep it to no game.
10:41And they'll hold him to a gain of just a couple and sets up third down.
10:46A bit of a quick hitter here.
10:48What you're hoping for, Mike, is that the defense can't react quickly enough
10:51because the ball's coming out so hot.
10:53But they knew it was coming, and they end up holding him to just a short game.
11:00Our side, he's got a bootleg.
11:02And he'll be out of bounds, well short of the line to gain.
11:07And that'll set up fourth down.

14:58and has a little bit more trust in his protection,
