00:00I'm no longer running through this big stone with tears anymore.
00:02Like, I'm proud of myself for going out there.
00:05I attacked this season with everything I had.
00:08And I learned some things about myself a lot this season.
00:12And so now that I know those things,
00:16now I can start fresh next year and just figure it out.
00:19But also, the season's not done.
00:20There'll be meets even throughout, all the way up until this and after.
00:24How do you achieve that mentality?
00:25Like, the scene's so locked in, even when there's something like-
00:29Three, like, starts to it.
00:32Yeah, I mean, we kind of practice some things like that in practice sometimes.
00:35Yeah, I'm grateful, I'm super blessed, man.
00:37I'm 32 years old, made it to the semifinals in my fourth Olympic trials.
00:42I can't really say I know a lot of people in 100 meters that cannot fit right now.
00:46But it's definitely different when you get out there and you're racing.
00:49It's like, oh, I'm proud of myself.
00:50I'm doing something that a lot of people my age aren't doing.
00:54A lot of my peers are at home with kids.
00:57Sitting on the couch and I'm running with one of the biggest stages as well.
01:00You know, just go out there and try to execute and block everything out.
01:03I can't even imagine that you're out there at practice and it's just you.
01:06For that to happen on this stage, though, I mean, is that easier said than done?
01:09Or do you feel like you're able to do that relatively successfully?
01:11It's definitely easier said than done.
01:14Yeah, that's the thing, like, before I was battling myself trying to be what I was.
01:18And now I'm noticing that I'm a lot more mature.
01:21So it's kind of like, obviously, it's a different stage.
01:23But it is definitely easier said than done.
01:25I'm not slow, I can still run fast.
01:26It just hurts when I get things.
01:27I'm kind of a little bit, you know.
01:29At this point in my career, like, I'm super excited for what it has.
01:33And I'm doing what I love.
01:34And I always joke around with people all the time.
01:36They're like, why don't you stop?
01:37It's like, I'm getting paid to run a circle, guys.
01:39I don't, that's a good bit, you know.
01:41I'm having a blast.
01:43And so that's all I can ask for.
01:44I mean, the first one I saw was Shelby, which she got through.
01:46So yeah, I got to see that before.
01:48I had to head over here.
01:49So I was like, okay, that's pretty good.
01:50You know, you know, that's true.
01:52That's always the only turn to do.
01:53It was, this was the make or break season for me.
01:55So yeah, we definitely feed off of that.
01:57And, you know, I have a great social media team.
02:01You know, I know it didn't show out there, but I'm seeing it in practice every day.
02:06So yeah.
02:07Is it because?
02:08Yeah.
02:09It is.
02:10Do you see the LL effects on the horizon?
02:13I'm sorry?
02:14Do you see the LL effects on the horizon?
02:15Yeah, no, it definitely is kind of true.
02:17If anything, that's my, that'll be my last one.
02:19Most of the field is open.
02:20So it is a little different.
02:22I mean, I've watched them run, you know, multiple times.
02:24After that, like, you know, I want to have kids.
02:26I want to start my family.
02:28My own family, train my own little daughter to run fast.
02:31Like, you know, keep these jeans going.
02:33So, you know, from LL to forever on.
02:35So it is kind of so real.
02:37But I just have my eyes set on that.
02:39And just, no head down, no sorrows.
02:41You know, Ravigan was kind of like, well, this is what you're going in next after that.
02:45So it's kind of like, you have to get prepared for that and, you know, be able to go out
02:48there.
03:00You know, be a regular person, enjoy a happy hour.
03:17You know, eat like a pig.
03:18You know, that's easier.
03:19So, yeah.
03:20I want the hard way.
03:21And I've always liked the hard way.
03:23I've always loved the climb and the challenge.
03:26And I just really want people to see my fight and it to fuel their fate.
03:32That's it.
03:33And just look at me and say, hey, this girl keeps getting up.
03:36So I can go to work the next day and I can deal with my hanging boss.
03:41I can deal with my kids at home driving me nuts.
03:45I can go and live in this inflation and still keep going.
03:49Like, I want them to see my fight and know that it's possible to just not quit.
03:53Like, you don't have to.
03:54It's a choice.
03:55It's a decision.
03:56And I just choose and decide to just keep going.
03:59I have no quit in me.
04:00I've never quit anything in my life.
04:02You know, my mom always tells me, we come from a strong stock.
04:05And so the gardeners, we've never known to quit.
04:09You know, my dad has had incurable heart disease.
04:12My mom has fought cancer.
04:13So I don't know what it's like to just lay down and let things take over.
04:17I've never witnessed that.
04:19And so it's my fight.
04:21It's kind of a side relief.
04:22You know, that's completely different from what I've been doing the last, like,
04:27two months of it's been, you know, just race after race after race,
04:31you know, and then go home.
04:32But, you know, this is definitely different.
04:33And being able to just focus on one event.
04:35I've learned some things about myself throughout the season a little bit late in the season.
04:39You know, it's definitely different.
04:40Now that I know those things, now I can start fresh in here and just figure it out.
04:44But also, the season's not done.
04:45Oh, that old clue that made it get ready for the two.
04:47It's like, you know, we've got a couple of days before we have to worry about that.
04:50So, I just keep chopping down these times.
04:52And, you know, God wants to give me, like, crazy time off the team full of Kenny Harris.
04:56You're running so many races, so many rounds.
04:58I'll be good with that.
04:59But, yeah, I'm just, I'm grateful.
05:02I'm super blessed, man.
05:02I'm 32 years old.
05:04I made it take semifinals in my fourth Olympic trials.
05:07I can't really say I know a lot of people in 100 meters that cannot say that right now,
05:12that they have four knees underneath their belts.
05:14So, I'm proud of myself.
05:15I'm doing something that a lot of people my age aren't doing.
05:20Everything's kind of the same.
05:21A lot of my peers are at home with kids.
05:22I mean, obviously, like I said.
05:23Sitting on the couch and I'm running with one of the biggest stages in the world.
05:26So, it wouldn't be proud of myself.
05:27I'm super proud of myself.
05:27I can't even move my head down today.
05:30Your teammates and you're doing the handoffs.
05:31So, you're doing little stuff like that.
05:33But, for the most part, yeah, it's pretty much the same.
05:35But, yeah, just having to focus, like, really heavily, like, on starts and executing all of that.
05:40Yeah, that's the thing.
05:41Like, before I was battling myself trying to be what I was.
05:44And now I'm noticing that I'm a lot more mature.
05:47My muscles are a lot more mature.
05:49I'm not slow.
05:50I can still run fast.
05:51For the most part, it's the same.
05:52It hurts when I get there sometimes.
