00:06There are a few things that make a new stallion stand out amongst his peers.
00:11One of them is hailing from a family known to produce stallions, as is being the winner of a prolific
00:17Group 1 race.
00:18So it is no wonder that lead artist is proving popular among breeders across Europe,
00:23having won the Group 1 lock-in stakes and hailing from the family of Hasilli.
00:28Ed Sackville tells us more about the new stallion at Banstead Manor.
00:35Lead artist has had a great response, as you would expect, from breeders.
00:40Lead artist, a Group 1 winning son of Dabawi, out of a beautifully bred Frankel Mare Obligate,
00:47from a family absolutely full of Group 1 horses, I think 59 Group 1 performances in all,
00:54and also the family of Dan Silly, who was an outstanding stallion, stood here at Banstead Manor Stud,
01:04and also the family of probably one of the most iconic mares of all time, Blue Hen Mare Hasilli.
01:13The pinnacle of his racing career was winning the Group 1 Lock-Inge at Newbury.
01:19In doing so, he beat three different classic winners.
01:24Rosalien was also a multiple Group 1 winner, and another multiple Group 1 winner in Fallen Angel,
01:30and also the impressive 2000 Guineas winner, Notable Speech.
01:34The Lock-Inge has been a great race in producing stallions.
01:40Lead artist, I think, was the second fastest time in history.
01:45A real fast ground miler, a very commercial prospect.
01:50He's a strong, very well-balanced horse, who has size and scope, stands just over 16 hands.
01:59I think he has more size and scope than perhaps some sons of Dubawi.
02:05And on top of that, Lead Artist is a very good moving horse.
02:09He has great action for a Dubawi.
02:11He just has a nice, very good demeanor.
02:15Lead Artist stands at £12,500.
02:19We were very keen to price him competitively, particularly in this current day and age.
02:27And also, if you look at some of the other sons of Dubawi, who have been a huge success at
02:34Studd.
02:35Knight of Thunder himself, I think he stood at his lowest fee was £15,000.
02:42Zarak stood at around £12,000.
02:46You know, these have gone on to be brilliant sons of Dubawi at Studd.
02:50I think he's a horse that, as soon as people see him, they want to use him.
02:57An exceptional looking son of Dubawi, who's a Group 1 winner.
03:02Everyone, they can't resist it.
03:11I don't care.
