00:03Hello, join us as we go live to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
00:06Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Ivan Hill, is offering statements. Let's listen.
00:10It acts with the same firmness towards any violation wherever it occurs.
00:16I would like to round off this statement by a moral reflection.
00:25We demand the following action.
00:27Firstly, an end to all unilateral coercive measures.
00:32Not only do they run counter to international law, but they have violated economic, social and cultural rights of millions
00:40of Venezuelans.
00:43Secondly, we call for respect for state sovereignty in line with the United Nations Charter as a fundamental principle of
00:52effective multilateralism and universal human rights.
00:56Thirdly, a human rights agenda which does not sidestep the major tragedies of the world and which recognizes all victims
01:07as being equal without political selectivity for any of them.
01:11And lastly, the fourth point is that we call for the immediate release by the United States government of the
01:20constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moro, and his wife, the first lady, Celia Flores.
01:32Venezuela will continue to defend its independence, its dignity and the rights of its people.
01:37And it will do it as it has done until today through diplomacy, through dialogue and the firm belief that
01:43peace is the supreme good of humanity.
01:47Thank you very much, President.
01:54Thank you, Excellency.

02:44We were just a few moments ago listening to statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Ivan Gil.
02:50He was referring to the process of national reconciliation that Venezuela is moving forward with the approbation just a few
02:58days ago of the amnesty law in the nation.
03:03That is a historical step towards the respect and the dialogue of Venezuelans among Venezuelans.
03:09Also, in this moment, in his statements, Ivan Gil referred to the respect that Venezuela must have by international organizations
03:21and also especially by the United States.
03:24And this was a crucial moment in which the Foreign Affairs Minister, the highest diplomacy authority of the nation, made
03:33a call and also said that Venezuela is willing to keep defending its national sovereignty.
