00:14I will fight anyone to the death if they say that someone else invented heavy metal besides
00:19sap. I mean these people created what rock and roll and heavy metal is today and to me it's like
00:25I said they're so cool they've got nothing to prove they've already done it. I think they just
00:30connect with you you know they just got that metal that power that makes you forget about
00:34everything else in the whole world except being there and being one with them and having a kick-ass
00:39time. Fans from the 70s and 80s they knew all types of music not just rock and roll not just
00:45one sort
00:46of type they studied classical music. In fact the very when I used to go to New York all the
00:57time
00:58when I'm just a kid you know I was like 14 years old and go to New York every week
01:02to try to get
01:03songs to sing and meet people who were songwriters and be around in the business you know and I
01:08would always be I would always have to wait in the waiting room. I got to know all the receptionists
01:14very well and his secretaries they were really nice people who'd give me something you know give
01:18me a coke or something to drink. I think what's unique about Ronnie's voice is he has an ability
01:23to convey some you know this ultra sadness sort of soft you know it's just otherworldly sadness
01:32like you know with the rainbow um rainbow eyes a song he did with rainbow and he also has the
01:38ability
01:39to just convey the darker side of things like you know like he did with voodoo on the mob rules
01:43album.
01:43I'm the luckiest person on earth. I've been able to do what I love every single moment of my life
01:48and one reason of course is because I refuse to do nothing else but things that make me make me
01:53happy.
01:54I'm the luckiest person on earth. I'm the luckiest person on earth. I'm the luckiest person on earth.
02:23Tony, Ronnie, and Vinny playing together again.
02:25I don't care what they play.
02:26They don't know water down their music.
02:27They don't water down who they are.
02:30They stay true to farmers.
02:31Stay true to who they are.
02:32No, they're not sellouts.
02:34We're much more relaxed than we used to be.
02:36There's no drugs or not much alcohol.
02:41So it's like we do the gig and we go to bed.
02:49Take this moment and get booze goosebumps.
02:52And for a few songs later on, I take them out again.
02:55It's just so powerful, so mighty.
02:58The guitar, nine feet from the cabinet, is at 119 dB.
03:03So it's really loud on stage.
03:06But all together, it's very musically loud.
03:09It's not just, oh, fuck, that is just in the face.
03:12But it's in the face and you want it.
03:24I think because it's such a really good quality music, I mean, even though I was there playing
03:32it and writing it, it's like, it really is good stuff.
03:35And it's certainly stood the test of time.
03:39It's typical of the Sabbath.
03:40It's got this simple but doomy riff and then the vocals are just laid right on top of it.
03:46And Ronnie's singing his ass off.
03:47Everybody's playing their ass off.
03:49So it's great.
03:50Vinny was unbelievable to us.
03:52And all of the Talkin' Metal listeners just continue to email about how cool he was.
03:56He's there when he plays.
03:57He makes everything come totally, totally alive.
03:59Music's my hobby as well as my profession.
04:03So no matter how much time I have off, I'll always still play every day.
04:08Vinny's brilliant as always.
04:09I use Cozy's drums on these tracks because Tony has a set of Cozy's drums there, which
04:15is great.
04:15I thought this was fantastic to carry Cozy's spirit on to some new recordings and stuff.
04:21Tony takes things to really great places and he's the riffmaster.
04:24Nobody's better than Tony at that.
04:25His sound is absolutely stunning as you can see.
04:27The first time we got together with Ozzy, we'd done about a two-hour set and then the
04:32first night and then the second night it went drastically down to about an hour and 20 minutes.
04:38And then it went down from then on.
04:41This set will probably end up three hours at the end of the day.
04:45God, he's got no bloody hands.
04:48Every day is my chance to try to be perfect.
04:52And I've never, ever been able to be perfect, but at least I have a goal to try.
04:56Best band ever!
04:57Come on now!
04:58Tony, I owe me his God!
04:59Ronnie, Tony, Geezer, Vinny.
05:01That's it.
05:01All you guys are a legend.
05:03You can feel alive again.
05:04Who's no Romeo!
05:05The apartments.
05:12Something made him say the whole thing.
05:15You gotta do.
05:17Tell him the mountains.
05:18donner lads.
05:19This idea of history feels good.
05:20I don't know.
05:20You're my own friends.
05:22It's tough.
05:23You can feel good.
