Snow began falling over parts of the Northeastern U.S. with the onset of an intense winter storm that prompted blizzard warnings throughout the region.

The National Weather Service says snow of up to 2 feet is possible in many areas late Sunday into Monday, along with heavy winds and sharply reduced visibility. Blizzard warnings are in effect in New York City and Long Island, Boston and coastal communities in New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Emergency declarations have been issued in several states. New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania have restricted or banned travel during the storm. (Video courtesy of ABC via AP)
