00:20Trump made the announcement after the Supreme Court outlawed most of the global tariffs he put in place last year.
00:26It ruled that only Congress has the authority to levy taxes and tariffs.
00:31The White House said it would end certain tariff measures,
00:34but Trump has ordered investigations into other laws that could allow him to reimpose them.
00:40Taiwan only recently concluded tariff negotiations with the U.S.,
00:44setting a 15% duty on Taiwanese exports to the U.S.,
00:48while lowering trade barriers for U.S. goods entering Taiwan.
00:51The Cabinet says regardless of changes to U.S. tariff policies,
00:55the government will continue to protect Taiwan's industrial interests and promote stable development.
