Is the President worried about the afterlife? During a rare moment of self-reflection at the February 2026 #NationalPrayerBreakfast, President #DonaldTrump stunned the audience by admitting he might not "qualify" for heaven, jokingly stating he feels he's at the "bottom of the totem pole" when it comes to spiritual report cards. However, he quickly pivoted, suggesting that his administration's massive efforts to "bring religion back hotter than ever" and his #ReligiousLibertyCommission should count for something in the final tally.

This #BreakingNews report analyzes the #Inquisitr breakdown of the President’s "transactional" view of salvation, the #Signalgate leaks regarding his private meetings with #PaulaWhite, and why his "hell of a lot of good for perfect people" joke is trending among both critics and the #Evangelical base. We explore the latest #PewResearch data showing a shift in Christian support and why the President’s "heavenly odds" have become a major talking point ahead of the #2026Midterms.

00:00President Donald Trump said Thursday that he doubts he would make it into heaven, continuing
00:03a series of public remarks he has made in recent months about the afterlife.
00:07Speaking to a crowd in Georgia, the 79-year-old said he often jokes about the subject and
00:11suggested that members of the press interpret his comments literally.
00:14He referenced prior statements in which he questioned his own chances of entering heaven
00:18and said those earlier remarks were made in jest.
00:21I was having fun, Trump said.
00:23I hope to make it.
00:24But I doubt I will, to be honest with you.
00:26A lot of you will.
00:27I'm not so sure.
00:28The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Beast.
00:33Trump first began publicly discussing heaven last summer, shortly after the White House
00:37announced he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can
00:41affect blood flow from the lower extremities to the heart and may result in swelling.
00:45The condition has been cited by the White House in response to questions about visible swelling
00:49in Trump's ankles.
00:50Officials have also attributed bruising on his right hand to frequent handshaking and aspirin
00:54use.
00:55In October, Trump underwent an MRI, and he has repeatedly stated that he has performed
00:59well on cognitive assessments.
01:01Last August, during an interview with Fox News, Trump linked his comments about heaven to his
01:05pledge to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
01:07He said that if he could help reduce casualties in the conflict, it would be a meaningful accomplishment.
01:11If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that's a pretty.
01:16I want to try and get to heaven if possible, Trump said at the time.
01:19He added that he had heard criticism suggesting he was at the bottom of the totem pole and
01:24said that resolving the conflict could be the one reason to improve his standing.
01:27Trump's political fundraising operation also referenced his comments about heaven in an
01:31email sent by his super PAC last summer.
