00:00Police searches at Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's former home of Royal Lodge are continuing
00:04following his release under investigation. The former prince was arrested on suspicion
00:09of misconduct in public office, something which he has continuously denied. So what's next for
00:15Andrew? The 66-year-old was arrested by Thames Valley Police after it said it was assessing
00:20a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by him with the late
00:25sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He has been released under investigation, meaning he faces no
00:30restrictions and does not have to follow any conditions such as curfews or travel bans.
00:36Typically with arrests relating to white-collar crime, people are held for a few hours to allow
00:41for searches and initial questioning. However, being released under investigation does not rule
00:46out further questioning at a later date. At some point, a decision will have to be made by the
00:51Crown Prosecution Service and Thames Valley Police about whether to charge the king's brother with
00:56misconduct in a public office, but it could be weeks before any substantial decision is made.
01:02The police said that in addition to the arrest, it was carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire
01:07and Norfolk. In an updated statement following Andrew's release, Thames Valley Police said its
01:12searches in Norfolk have now concluded, but those at Royal Lodge in Windsor Grey Park appear to be
01:17ongoing. Buckingham Palace issued a statement in which King Charles said the police have his full
01:22and wholehearted support and cooperation with the investigation.
