00:01Well, tourists, locals and a lot of news crews have been gathering here at Buckingham Palace
00:07after the extraordinary news that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince and the brother of King Charles,
00:14has been arrested. Andrew, who has been under increasing scrutiny over his ties to the late convicted pedophile
00:22Jeffrey Epstein, was taken into custody by police on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
00:30After accusations that he shared confidential information with Epstein while he was serving as the British Trade Envoy,
00:37we've been speaking to people here to get their reaction to this very significant development.
00:43Absolutely shocking. Hopefully the royal family don't try to brush this one under the mat because this is really important.
00:49It's about time. Yeah, it's about time. It's good. Nobody's above the law.
00:54So, yeah, it'll be interesting to see how it'll unfold and how history will unfold because of this.
00:58We need to have people in power brought to justice in the same way that those who aren't in power
01:08are brought to justice.
01:09We are human beings, you know. Everybody is bound to make a mistake, you know, in one way or the
01:15other.
01:15So, a bin coming off from a prince, you know, is still good that a prince needs to conduct himself
01:22in the public space.
01:24Yeah, I would say it's surprising. Obviously these people are held in high regard, so generally anybody in that position
01:30that gets in trouble turns some heads.
01:33Well, not unexpectedly there has been somewhat mixed reactions to this extraordinary development in this very long-running saga.
01:41But there is definitely a sense of shock here that the first senior royal in modern times has been arrested
01:47and could potentially face court.
01:50But there is also a lot.
01:51We have to do well right back.
01:52All right.
