00:00Now that all-rounder Chanel Henry is the West Indies vice-captain, she has added responsibilities.
00:05This comes ahead of the six-match white ball series against Sri Lanka starting Friday in
00:09Grenada.
00:10And how does Henry feel following the appointment?
00:13I mean obviously it's still pretty new, as you said, you know, it's the first series
00:16that I'll actually, you know, be, you know, part of, be in that role.
00:21So it still hasn't really changed much of anything.
00:24I still go about playing my game the same way, the preparation has been the same.
00:29So, you know, getting that role doesn't really change who I am as a person or player.
00:33It's just about, I guess, just stepping into one more responsibility.
00:36The team is led by Captain Hayley Matthews, with Deandra Dutton also part of the squad.
00:41Like Henry, the two played in this year's WPL tournament in India.
00:45The 30-year-old all-rounder says it's a big plus having the duo in the mix.
00:50Honestly, I think it's been a while where, you know, we've had, you know, those two fit
00:54playing, you know, probably in the same tournament, stuff like that.
01:00But it's really good to have them back, you know, obviously having played against them in the WPL.
01:05So, you know, obviously being back in, you know, in Maroon is a good feeling.
01:09So obviously we're looking for, you know, big series against Sri Lanka.
01:13Henry represented runners-up Delhi Capitals at this year's WPL in India.
01:17According to the Jamaican, playing in such competitions helps improve her game.
01:21I mean, yeah, being, you know, in franchise cricket obviously has helped a lot in terms of development.
01:29I can see why, you know, players who have played in franchise cricket, you know, have done so well in
01:33their respective international teams.
01:35It's about playing with different people, different culture and learning new things along the way.
01:40So, and obviously learning about other players too, obviously you come up against internationally.
01:43So it's always good to obviously be out there and I guess in the last 12 months, you know,
01:49my skills and stuff has, you know, improved.
01:52So it's just about continuing on that stretch and as I said, that came from me not changing who I
01:57am.
01:57The West Indies and Sri Lanka meet in three ODIs and as many T20 internationals.
02:03I'm going to go to the next 12th of the year's WPL.
02:04I'm going to go to the next 12th of the year's WPL.
02:05I'm going to go to the next 12th of the year's WPL.
02:05I'm going to go to the next 12th of the year's WPL.
02:06I'm going to go to the next 12th of the year's WPL.
