00:03spoke was at fenway in the clubhouse yes i do remember so it's your name on the tour now you're
00:08with thomas red back then despite the obvious what's the biggest difference between headlining
00:14and opening up for somebody man um i'll start with this in a lot of ways opening up on on
00:20a big tour
00:21like that is like one of the biggest blessings in the world especially having like that direct spot
00:25right before thomas gets on um at the fenway show it was me then teddy and then thomas um
00:32but the rest of the tour i was i was right before thomas every night and dude such a blessing
00:37to be
00:37able to like learn and just grow and you know get feedback from him and um for him to like
00:43me get
00:43off stage and he goes dude that was fire i'm like that's the coolest thing in the world i've been
00:46listening to you since i was like 10 years old um but such a blessing um i there's something about
00:54headlining shows that you you can't really find that feeling anywhere else yeah um you know i grew
01:01up playing sports and everything and you know back then i thought friday night lights was the best
01:05feeling in the world and i got to college and i thought that was the best feeling in the world
01:08and
01:08then uh dude it's it's a rush that i think a lot of artists strive for when they're off the
01:17road what's
01:17the biggest change mentally because that was back in july but what's the biggest thing that's changed
01:22in you since then um a lot honestly especially over this like past couple of months i've had a lot
01:31of time to think about everything and kind of just uh spend some time with myself and with my loved
01:38ones
01:38and and really sit back and think about how cool everything really is because when you're in in the
01:43middle of it dude it's hard to like take yourself out of um what the craziness is bringing and you
01:50know
01:50having that time really helped me like wow this is like really cool i'm i'm like truly so blessed to
01:55be able to do this but oh i'm just i'm growing every day and i'm learning and just trying to
02:00be
02:00me he's trying to stay healthy um and happy so back then you only had the one number one now
02:05you get to
02:05the hardest thing ain't that crazy yeah it's crazy two in one year that's insane insane
02:09it when three two one went to the top did you have a moment where you're like it's kind of
02:15for
02:15real or did it not really feel that way what do you mean like did it make things heavier on
02:21you like
02:21oh now that i have a streak going i have to protect that streak a little bit yeah um obviously
02:27you know
02:27it's uh i'm a creative at you know in my mind i'm a creative and in my heart but in
02:35my heart i
02:35i like to compete and not just with anybody i like to compete with myself and like push myself to
02:41you know keep streaks going or you know better the next one or whatever it is and i definitely
02:46am competing with myself now where it's like okay now next one's got to go next one's got to go
02:50and
02:51absolutely um i know that i know it's inevitable that that streak will end or that time comes where
02:56something just doesn't work and um and i can live with that but it's it's fun to ride it yeah

03:01now well speaking of competing you have a lot of nerves showing your face in the city this soon after
03:05the super bowl it's crazy big sea yeah yeah i'm a big seahawks fan and i've had i just had
03:10my meet
03:11and greet out there and a couple of them said something but they they seem so excited to you
03:15know see me and see me back out on the road so it's it's nice that even though we have
03:20our differences
03:20as people sure uh music brings us together i like that in a sense yeah so that night i mean
03:26it was a
03:26whooping early on yeah were you being classy were you texting your patriot fan friends oh i'm always
03:32classy okay and my my he's sitting right there my my photographer he's a huge patch fan okay a huge
03:39patch fan um and he was talking a little more smack than than i was throughout the day especially
03:45afterwards and uh you know that's not really my game i kind of just uh whatever happens happens you
03:50know if i was on the field it'd be a different story but well that's my next question the game
03:54before that nfc championship you played halftime one of the biggest stages in football and obviously that
04:01was the road you were thinking you were going to go down before you know injuries and things did
04:05that cross your mind when you were on that stage no yeah yeah of course um i think it was
04:11like one
04:11of my first times back on a football field since then and um yeah that's crazy to think about actually
04:19and i've i grew up going to games at you know that stadium and watching my hawks play and um
04:26you know to
04:26be out on the field in front of what was 80 000 people in the stadium that day in front
04:32of 80 000
04:33people and singing my songs and hearing them sing sing back to me and it was one of the coolest
04:40things
04:40i've done in my life um but i don't know it was it was really cool so back to the
04:46tour it's uh your
04:48first world tour right yeah kind of headlining world tour yeah major yeah we did some headlines
04:53overseas but it wasn't like a tour we only did one one oh never mind okay this is my first
05:00uh headline
05:01world tour so it's starting off here in the city i mean in the states obviously yep was boston
05:06intentionally the first city was there any method you know thinking behind that um i remember how much i
05:12love boston last time i was here uh you know i played fenway with tr and teddy and um i
05:20remember
05:20how much i loved the crowd and the people and um you know it's it's not really out of my
05:25hands when
05:25it comes to like where we go what times but i'm i saw that and my immediate reaction was like
05:30that's
05:30the perfect start to definitely to this next stage or this this next tour and um yeah i was definitely
05:36excited to come back well it's the first night of the tour is there pressure is there freedom what
05:41are you feeling right now um i feel like i how do i explain this
05:50i feel like i'm riding a bike for the second time ever okay in a sense of like it's been
05:55a long time
05:55since i've i've you know been on a stage i've been throughout the past two months i've been on the
06:00stage probably like three times um but it's i feel rusty i feel a little you know pre-tour jitters
06:09right
06:09now but i'm very excited i am very sick right now which kind of terrible timing on that but i
06:15am very
06:15excited to get out there and see what happens i guess
