00:00Hi, I'm Chellian Fraser-Price, Olympic champion and world champion, and we're outside with Marie-Claire.
00:08I've been running since I was three. I was running in basic school, in primary school, in high school.
00:14My mom used to run, and it was just natural to me.
00:172008, when I won the world championship in Beijing in China, that definitely changed everything.
00:22That really taught me to believe in myself.
00:24It really changed just everything for my family, for myself, how I looked at myself,
00:28you know, how blessed I was at that point.
00:30One of the lessons I think TRAC taught me is that a lot can change in a year.
00:35You just have to continue to work hard, continue to really lay the foundation.
00:40I know that no matter what it looks like, today, tomorrow is going to be better.
00:45Oh, work-wise.
00:46You have Kadeen, who's been with me from day one.
00:49You know, you have Alex, as well as you have Sirika, you have Cherie, you have Angela.
00:54I have a whole team of people, some who I probably can't name, because they don't want to be named.
01:01Being a boss is really about ownership.
01:03It's really just owning who you are, no matter, you know, the weaknesses that you're faced with.
01:08It's getting better each day.
01:09You are your own boss.
01:11You are in control of, you know, just your own strength, your feelings, all that you want to accomplish.
01:16It's all about you, and you just have to make sure that you own every single part of you and
01:22really just grow from strength to strength each day.
01:25One routine that helps me feel grounded is praying before I compete.
01:28I think it's so essential to really just give, you know, give thanks and have a sense of gratitude for
01:35the day and what we're about to accomplish.
01:38Something I've learned about myself during competition is resilience.
01:41You know, I never say die.
01:43I never give up.
01:44I keep going and going and going and going.
01:45Doesn't matter how it looks.
01:47Doesn't matter how it appears on paper.
01:48Doesn't matter how it looks to the natural eye.
01:51I'm somebody that's going to keep going.
01:52No matter if I'm knocked down, I'm going to get up and I'm going to go again.
01:56So I would definitely say resilience.
01:59Jamaica is home.
02:01It's just a part of who I am.
02:02It's the culture.
02:03It's the people.
02:04It's really just the essence of Jamaica that makes Shellyann who she is.
02:08And from growing up, I've had the support of so many individuals who continue to shape who I am as
02:13a person, continue to pour into me.
02:15I just shape the woman that I am today.
02:18So I would definitely say they have made me strong, resilient, and I know that I have a huge amount
02:23of people who support and backs me.
02:25Because I think that the resources that we have at home, it's limited.
02:29But the power we have as a people is huge.
02:33My personal style.
02:34I think really I took more risk now than I did when I was younger.
02:39I really felt afraid.
02:41I felt like everyone was just watching me.
02:43And I didn't come into my own and think until I started to just love who I am as a
02:49person.
02:49And really does show up as that authentic me.
02:53So my definition of strength evolved when I realized that when I was younger, it wasn't necessarily about the physical.
02:59But really about the emotional and the mental aspect of who I am as a person.
03:03And how I showed up in each space.
03:06If I was authentically me.
03:07If I was happy.
03:08If I enjoyed the space that I was in.
03:11Over time, I realized it's really just how were you in that space.
03:15How strong were you in that space?
03:17How strong were you in that space?
