00:00All right, the latest news break coming in.
00:02Former royal prince, disgraced royal, is now feeling the Epstein heat.
00:07Ex-prince Andrew has been arrested amidst the Epstein scandal.
00:12The first royal to be arrested in modern history.
00:18A seismic repercussion of the Epstein storm.
00:23Andrew accused of misconduct in public office.
00:27King Charles now has come out, made a public statement.
00:30He has vowed full support and cooperation.
00:34UK Prime Minister Stammer says no one is above the law.
00:38This is huge in terms of the fallout of the Epstein files coming in.
00:43This is a seismic moment where it comes down to history where Britain is concerned.
00:51I would reckon in the last hundred years,
00:53this is the first royal who's been taken under arrest.
00:57And the full force or the ferocity of the law will be applied to Andrew,
01:04is what even King Charles has just said.
01:07I'm joined right now by my colleague Pranay,
01:10who's getting us up to speed with the very latest.
01:13Pranay Upadhyay now joins me.
01:14Pranay, what's the latest?
01:17As per the latest report, Priti,
01:19Prince Andrew Mountbeton-Winsor is under arrest,
01:22arrested by the Thamesville Police authorities.
01:25And in fact, the statement coming from the UK government,
01:28from the UK Prime Minister K. Stammer,
01:30along with King Charles,
01:31and even Prince William and Kate, Princess Kate,
01:35clearly that the royalty of Britain as well as the UK government
01:41are clearly given an indication that the law will take its own course.
01:46And Prime Minister K. Stammer has stated in as many words
01:49that nobody is above law.
01:51So clearly a big message.
01:53And in fact, you can say that this is the biggest fall
01:56from the list of the Jeffrey Epstein,
01:58because the way he was involved
02:00and the way things are being investigated currently,
02:04Prince Andrew Mountbeton-Winsor is under arrest
02:08on the charges of misappropriate or inappropriate conduct
02:14from the public office.
02:16And also, the charges of human trafficking
02:19are also under investigation.
02:21His premises in Norfolk as well as in Berkshire
02:24are also being searched related to this case.
02:27But clearly, the way documents have come out
02:30from the Department of Justice in the United Kingdom,
02:33the way many high-profile names have come out,
02:36I think this is the biggest name
02:37which is now facing the criminal investigation
02:40in any country out of those names.
02:42And in fact, the latest tranche
02:44which revealed the name of many people
02:46and whose volume was around 3 lakh documents,
02:501,500 videos and 2,500 audio files
02:53clearly are under, you know,
02:57that will be the material of investigation
02:58for the UK police as well.
03:00As far as the involvement of Prince Andrew
03:03and his, you know, his name in the Jeffrey Epstein files
03:06are concerned.
03:07But clearly, this is a big development
03:08as far as the UK royalty is concerned.
03:10And clearly, the UK royalty is under pressure
03:13the way Prince Andrew's name came.
03:16And now, he was told to cooperate with the law
03:20and King Charles has expressed his, you know,
03:22King Charles also issued a statement
03:25with words that I have,
03:27I'm sorry, but law will take its own course.
03:29No, it's historic.
03:30Well, the royalty in England is concerned.
03:34It is historic.
03:36On the other account viewers,
03:37it's huge in terms of the fallout of the Epstein files.
03:41The Epstein storm clearly now has singed the royal family
03:46and not just that,
03:48from royal palaces to boardrooms
03:50to prime minister's offices.
03:52The Jeffrey Epstein files are blowing open
03:54the world's corridors of power.
03:56Top names are stepping down across continents,
03:58humiliated on the streets,
04:00questioned on what their role was,
04:02under scrutiny.
04:03As resignations mount, charges surface.
04:06The Epstein files are no longer just revelations.
04:08They are a reckoning for the global elite.
04:18From royal palaces to boardrooms
04:21and prime minister's offices,
04:23the Epstein files are detonating
04:25at the very heart of global power.
04:28In the United States,
04:30Head Chairman Thomas Pritzker
04:32has stepped down following scrutiny
04:34over past contacts.
04:36In the UAE,
04:37DP World CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Salayam
04:40has resigned.
04:42Goldman Sachs Chief Legal Officer
04:44Cathy Rumor
04:45has announced her resignation.
04:48Paul Vice Chairman Brad Karp
04:51has also stepped down
04:52after revelations surfaced.
04:54In the UK,
04:56Ambassador to the US
04:57Peter Mandelson
04:58was fired over his links.
05:00UK Prime Minister's
05:01Chief of Staff
05:02Morgan McSweeney
05:04resigned,
05:04taking responsibility
05:05for the appointment controversy.
05:08Former US Treasury Secretary
05:10Larry Summers
05:11has resigned from key roles
05:13after renewed scrutiny.
05:14In Sweden,
05:16UNHCR Sweden Chair
05:18Jonah Rubenstein
05:19stepped down
05:20after disclosures emerged.
05:22And in Norway,
05:23former Prime Minister
05:24Thorbjorn Joglom
05:25has been charged
05:26with aggravated corruption
05:28tied to the investigation.
05:32With every new revelation,
05:34the Epstein Files
05:35are ripping through
05:36the corridors
05:37of global power,
05:38toppling titans,
05:39tarnishing legacies
05:41and leaving the elite
05:42scrambling for cover.
05:44Bureau Report,
05:45India Today.
05:49Arrests,
05:49resignations,
05:50people stepping down
05:51and being publicly
05:52humiliated on the streets,
05:54being asked
05:55on what their role was,
05:56where the Epstein Files
05:58is concerned.
05:59Back home in India,
06:00there have been several names
06:02that appear
06:02in the Epstein Files.
06:04The fallout, though,
06:05the tangible impact of it
06:07has been minimal
06:08compared to the world.
06:10Nobody is saying
06:10that these people
06:11whose names were mentioned
06:12in the Epstein Files
06:14from India
06:14are culpable,
06:16but why no scrutiny
06:17is a question
06:17that beckons to be asked.
06:19The latest, though,
06:20while no reason was given,
06:22Microsoft co-founder,
06:23Bill Gates,
06:24who is in India,
06:24will not deliver
06:25his keynote address
06:27this evening
06:27at the India AI Impact Summit
06:30in Delhi.
06:31In an official statement,
06:32the Gates Foundation said,
06:34the decision was made
06:35after careful consideration
06:37and to ensure
06:38the focus remains
06:39on the summit's
06:40key priorities.
06:41Gates' withdrawal
06:42comes amidst
06:43massive controversy
06:44over his ties
06:45to the late sex offender
06:47Jeffrey Epstein
06:49after Gates was named
06:51numerous times
06:53in the released files.
06:54Earlier,
06:55there was source-based
06:55information
06:56that the controversy
06:57has put the Indian government
06:59in a tight spot
07:00and the invitation
07:01was rescinded.
07:02But all we know,
07:03and we are only giving out
07:04what's the official information,
07:05all we know
07:06is the statement
07:07that has been put forth
07:08by the Gates Foundation.
07:11Well,
07:12so Bill Gates
07:13will not be speaking
07:14at the keynote address
07:15at the AI Global Summit.
07:17Now,
07:18let's move on
07:19to the other notable names
07:20from India
07:21that do find mention
07:22in the Epstein files.
07:24Right at the onset,
07:25names being mentioned
07:26doesn't directly indicate
07:28involvement
07:28of any wrongdoing
07:30whatsoever.
07:31Having said that,
07:33let's get on
07:34to the names
07:34that have caused
07:35a bit of a controversy.
07:37One of them
07:37is that of the Union
07:39Cabinet Minister,
07:40Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri.
07:42A search on the
07:43U.S. Department of Justice
07:44website,
07:45Dodge website,
07:46throws up 46 results
07:47for Hardeep Puri,
07:48430 results
07:50for Hardeep
07:50and 163 results
07:52for Hardeep Singh Puri.
07:54The Epstein files
07:55prove that Epstein
07:57met Hardeep Puri
07:59in New York
08:00at least on three occasions
08:01and that's all detailed
08:02in the information
08:04in terms of the emails
08:05that were exchanged.
08:06The email interactions
08:07now between the two
08:09are from June 2014
08:10to June 2017
08:12when Mr. Puri
08:14was not a minister
08:15but he really was
08:16a BJP leader
08:17and all along
08:18Epstein was
08:19a convicted
08:20child sex offender.
08:21While the email exchanges
08:23show Hardeep Puri
08:24making a pitch
08:25for Digital India
08:26but he also makes
08:27a mention
08:28of Epstein's
08:29exotic island
08:30where the Union Minister
08:31is asking him
08:33you have Mr. Hardeep Puri
08:34in a communication
08:36on email
08:37asking Jeffrey Epstein
08:38to have fun.
08:40In his interviews
08:41Puri has dismissed
08:42the interviews
08:43right after
08:44these files came out
08:45Mr. Puri
08:47has dismissed
08:48this particular mention
08:49where he asks
08:50Jeffrey Epstein
08:51to have fun
08:52as an expression
08:53that he uses
08:54and should not
08:55be read into.
08:57Puri has claimed
08:58that he only met
08:59Epstein three or four
09:00times in eight years
09:01while emphasizing
09:02that he was pushing
09:03for a meeting
09:04with LinkedIn founder
09:05Reid Hoffman
09:06though email exchanges
09:08also show Puri
09:09agreeing to assist
09:10in getting an Indian
09:11visa on a priority
09:13basis for an Epstein
09:16aid.
09:16Does this
09:17in any manner
09:19make Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri
09:21culpable?
09:21No.
09:22It doesn't make
09:24Hardeep Singh Puri
09:25culpable
09:25but does it make
09:27Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri
09:29open to scrutiny?
09:30One would say yes.
09:35Now one of the most
09:37significant Indian names
09:39in the documents
09:40is also of industrialist
09:42Anil Ambani.
09:43The files show
09:44that Epstein
09:45and Anil
09:46were in regular contact.
09:47Now the time frame
09:48is between 2017
09:50and 2019.
09:52Jeffrey Epstein
09:52was already
09:53a known sexual offender
09:55after the widely
09:56publicized 2008
09:58plea deal.
09:59Communications
09:59between the two
10:00reveal that Anil Ambani
10:02at the time
10:02positioned himself
10:03as a back channel
10:05to the Modi government.
10:06However,
10:07there is no record
10:09to show
10:09that he had
10:10any official clearance
10:11from the Indian government
10:13to do so.
10:14No record whatsoever.
10:16The emails though
10:17also show Epstein
10:18using sexualized language
10:20in conversations
10:21with Anil
10:22and extending invitations
10:24to his island.
10:25There is no evidence
10:26in the emails
10:27that Anil Ambani
10:29made any such visit
10:30to the island.
10:31However,
10:32in a conversation
10:33on March 9th 2017,
10:36Anil Ambani
10:37asks Jeffrey Epstein,
10:38what is your suggestion?
10:40This was a conversation.
10:41And to the question
10:42on what is your suggestion
10:44to this,
10:44Epstein wrote,
10:46a tall Swedish blonde woman
10:48would be better
10:49to make the meeting fun.
10:51To which
10:52Mr. Anil Ambani
10:53replies,
10:55arrange it.
10:56Does this make
10:57Mr. Anil Ambani
10:59culpable
10:59or accountable?
11:01No.
11:02But,
11:02should he be open
11:03to scrutiny?
11:05One would think,
11:06yes.
11:07So,
11:08not culpable,
11:09but why not open
11:10to scrutiny?
11:11Why the wail
11:12of silence?
11:14The reason,
11:15viewers,
11:16why we bring out
11:17these names
11:17is not to stoke
11:18controversy,
11:19but,
11:20if,
11:21seismic changes
11:22are taking place
11:23across the world
11:24at the back
11:25of the Epstein storm
11:26to fix accountability,
11:27why,
11:29as a country,
11:30are we even shying
11:31off mentioning
11:32those who need
11:33to be under scrutiny?
11:35We are not saying
11:35culpable,
11:37but why not be scrutinized?
11:38Why not be open to it?
11:39Why this code of silence?
11:41Is a question
11:43that should be asked.
11:45Alright,
11:46so,
11:46with that,
11:47let's quickly shift focus
11:49to the other
11:50domestic political story
11:52brewing,
11:52and it once again
11:53has the fulcrum
11:55of the India Alliance
11:57bang in the middle
11:59of it,
11:59with the allies
12:01of the India Alliance
12:02not too happy
12:03with the fulcrum.
12:04The fulcrum here,
12:05the Congress,
12:05two and a half years
12:06after the opposition
12:07came together,
12:08the India bloc
12:09to challenge the BJP,
12:10the focus has now
12:11turned inwards.
12:12A Samna editorial,
12:14voices from within Congress,
12:16and rivals pitch
12:17for a leadership
12:18change once again.
12:20Leadership,
12:20as in why not
12:21a Mamata Banerjee
12:23to lead the Alliance,
12:24and more such.
12:26Stuff.
12:27Take a look.
12:36Two and a half years ago,
12:38after opposition parties
12:39stitched together
12:40the India bloc
12:41to stop the BJP juggernaut,
12:43the spotlight
12:43has shifted inwards.
12:47Not on ideology,
12:49not on strategy,
12:50but on basic question.
12:51Who should lead
12:53this alliance?
12:55The trigger is a blunt
12:56editorial in Samna.
12:59It asked the India bloc
13:00to wake and hold talks.
13:02It added that
13:03multiple inner voices
13:04of Congress
13:04are creating confusion.
13:06The strong statements
13:07were in an article
13:09titled
13:09Mamata,
13:10Stalin or someone else.
13:32This comes after
13:34senior Congress leader
13:35Manish Shankar Aiyar
13:36praising Stalin
13:37and Pinaray Vijayan
13:38as better consolidators
13:39of the opposition.
13:41What Stalin has done
13:43over the past one year
13:45is to raise
13:46every single point
13:49that is relevant
13:50to federalism in India.
13:53And therefore,
13:54I believe he is
13:56the best person
13:57to become chairman
13:58of the India bloc.
14:03Words that did not
14:04just echo,
14:05they exploded
14:06inside the alliance.
14:08Congress MP
14:09Karthi Chudambaram
14:10adds another layer,
14:11pushing for
14:12rotational leadership.
14:14He pitched for Mamata,
14:17Uthav Thakre,
14:18or Stalin
14:18to take turns.
14:19One leader,
14:21one year at a time.
14:22A state party face,
14:24he argues,
14:25could have made
14:25the India bloc stronger.
14:51The Bhathia Janta party
14:53wasted no time,
14:54mocking the India bloc
14:55as confused,
14:57divided and leaderless.
14:59Every election
15:00under him,
15:01the India alliance
15:02is lost.
15:03Lost,
15:04not just lost,
15:04lost miserably.
15:05And every political party
15:07that was fooled
15:08into joining
15:09the India alliance
15:10by this vision
15:11of the India alliance
15:12now realizes
15:13that Rahul Gandhi
15:14and the Congress
15:14is the biggest liability
15:15that they have put
15:16on their heads.
15:18And the report card
15:19is unforgiving.
15:20Since 2023,
15:22India bloc
15:23has lost
15:23Chhattasgarh,
15:24Madhya Pradesh,
15:25Rajasthan,
15:26Maharashtra,
15:28Delhi,
15:28Bihar,
15:29Haryana,
15:30Andhra Pradesh,
15:32Odisha,
15:33and Sikkim.
15:34Wins came only
15:35in Telangana,
15:37Jammu and Kashmir,
15:38and Jharkhand.
15:41An alliance
15:42formed to challenge
15:42the BJP
15:43is now trapped
15:44in a leadership
15:45means.
15:46Because in politics,
15:47unity isn't just
15:49about numbers,
15:50it's about clarity
15:51at the top.
15:52Bureau Report,
15:53India Today.
15:58All right,
15:59let's cut across
15:59to Dr.
16:00Nasir Hussain
16:00who's joining us
16:01on lots of questions
16:03that are swirling
16:03where the India
16:04alliance is concerned.
16:05Dr. Hussain,
16:05thank you for taking
16:06the time out
16:07and joining us
16:07this evening, sir.
16:08Where shall we begin
16:09with what
16:09Karthi Chidambaram,
16:10your own political
16:12leader,
16:12says that maybe
16:13the India alliance
16:14should have a
16:15rotational leadership,
16:16get Mamata Banerji
16:17to lead it at some time,
16:18then get Mr. Stalin,
16:19and then the Congress
16:20can take it as well.
16:21All right,
16:22we're going to try
16:22and connect
16:23to Dr.
16:24Nasir Hussain
16:25who was with us.
16:26We're going to try
16:27and once again
16:28connect to him,
16:29but to give our viewers
16:30context on what has
16:33gone down,
16:33especially in the last
16:35couple of days,
16:36viewers,
16:37look at it,
16:38there are now
16:38four big state elections
16:40taking place,
16:41out of which you have
16:42the Congress
16:43which is facing off
16:44against the TMC
16:47in the state of West Bengal.
16:48All is not going very well
16:50where the alliance talks
16:51in Tamil Nadu
16:52are concerned,
16:53the Congress in trouble
16:55where Assam is concerned
16:57as well.
16:57The former president
16:58has left the party
16:59in all probability
17:00moving to joining the BJP.
17:02All right,
17:03let's cut across
17:03to Dr. Nasir Hussain.
17:05Dr. Hussain,
17:06thank you for taking
17:06the time out
17:07and joining us.
17:08Lots of questions
17:09swirling
17:10where the India alliance
17:11is questioned,
17:11some of them being posed
17:12by your own allies
17:14and even your own party person
17:16who say maybe
17:16like Mr. Karthi Chidambaram
17:18says have rotational leadership.
17:20Get in Mamata Banerjee
17:21to lead the alliance once
17:22then you get the likes
17:23of MK Stalin to do so
17:25and then Congress
17:26can take over the reins.
17:37Dr. Hussain,
17:38can you hear me?
17:42Yeah, yeah.
17:43Yeah, please come again.
17:44Dr. Hussain,
17:45the question
17:46which I asked you
17:46is the larger question.
17:47Your allies are posing
17:49to you today
17:49or even your own party person
17:52Karthi Chidambaram ji
17:53who says
17:53have rotational leadership.
18:00I think
18:01every time
18:02there are elections
18:03in the states
18:03and every time
18:05there is some statement
18:07here and there
18:07the media picks it up
18:09and says
18:09there is lots of
18:10confusion in the
18:11India alliance.
18:14the media should understand
18:17and people
18:17those who worry
18:18about India alliance
18:19should understand
18:20that.
18:21We did put up a
18:23great show
18:24during the parliament
18:25election.
18:26Another 20-30 seats
18:27probably would have been
18:28very close to
18:29forming the government.
18:30It was a good show.
18:31All of them did
18:32very well.
18:33After that
18:33India alliance
18:34was primarily
18:35formed to fight
18:37the parliament elections.
18:38Later on
18:39wherever India alliance
18:40constituents are there
18:41they got together
18:42at the state level
18:43they sat
18:44they discussed
18:44they bargained
18:45and for the elections.
18:47In Jammu and Kashmir
18:49we must have won
18:49we won in Jharkand
18:51we won in Telangana
18:53we won in Karnataka earlier
18:55so in some states
18:56we lost also.
18:57So there will always be
18:58losing and winning
19:00and at the level
19:01of the parliament
19:02floor management
19:04is done
19:05on a daily basis
19:06in both the houses
19:07parliament
19:07in Lok Sabha
19:09and Raj Sabha
19:09under the leadership
19:10of Malik Arjun
19:12and Rahul Gandhiji
19:13and we are putting up
19:14a good show
19:15in the parliament also.
19:16Now what is very
19:17important is
19:18we already have
19:20two leaders
19:21of opposition
19:22one in Lok Sabha
19:23and the other
19:24in Raj Sabha
19:24and they are
19:26leading the India
19:27alliance at the
19:28national level.
19:29There will be
19:30issue
19:30there will
19:31there will be
19:32a statement
19:33here and there
19:33but doesn't mean
19:34that something
19:36some big confusion
19:37is there in India
19:38alliance
19:39and we also
19:40at the level
19:41of the leadership
19:42also we did have
19:43a couple of
19:43video conferences
19:45though we didn't
19:45meet physically.
19:46I think we also
19:47met physically
19:48once in Rahul
19:49Gandhiji's house
19:49when we discussed
19:51about the SIR issue
19:52say about
19:53four or five
19:53months back.
19:55So everything
19:56is intact
19:57everything is
19:57going on smoothly
19:58there are
19:59no issue
20:00as per se
20:02as India
20:02alliance is
20:03concerned
20:04but there
20:05could be
20:05statements
20:05here and
20:06there
20:06they are
20:06all their
20:06personal
20:07statements.
20:08But you
20:08know
20:09Hussain
20:10if you
20:10look at

20:11you have
