00:11But if you're after something truly unforgettable, consider staying in one of the world's strangest hotels.
00:18These unique spots offer more than just a bed for the night.
00:21They create once in a lifetime experiences you simply won't find anywhere else.
00:27From tree houses hanging in clouds to hotels with rooms inside caves, join us as we take you through 20
00:35of the world's strangest hotels.
00:3920. Hotel Costa Verde Fuselage Suit
00:43Just above the treetops where birds are nestled and jungle leaves rustle, sits an unlikely hotel that has won the
00:50hearts of all aviation lovers.
00:52Located just a few distance from the Costa Verde resort in Costa Rica, is a retired Boeing 727 that has
00:59been carefully placed at the edge of Manuel Antonio National Park.
01:03This amazing aircraft once soared through the skies, carrying passengers to their destination, but it encountered a major accident that
01:12put it out of service.
01:14Now with the innovative help of engineers and architects, this once damaged plane has been turned into a beautiful jungle
01:21suite.
01:22Here, guests can experience what it feels like to live in an aircraft without taking off.
01:28While the exterior of this masterpiece is impressive, the interior is equally breathtaking.
01:35Stepping inside, you might expect a normal plane setting with rows of chairs and aisle in the middle.
01:42Instead, the plane has been turned into a comfortable suite.
01:46It has two air-conditioned bedrooms, and each room comes with its own private bathroom.
01:52There's also a flat-screen TV, a bar, a kitchen with its own microwave, a dining area, and even a
01:59private terrace that gives a great view of the ocean.
02:03Apart from this, some of the furniture here is made of teak wood that was hand-carved all the way
02:08from Java.
02:09And if you ever feel bored, you can go into the cockpit and imagine yourself flying or take a walk
02:15round the pristine surroundings.
02:18Whether it's the airplane theme, beautiful interior, or the great view of nature's beauty, this hotel is a must-visit
02:26destination.
02:27However, if you want something much more daring, why not come to this next hotel that is perched thousands of
02:34feet above the ground,
02:35and the only way up is a climb reserved for the fearless.
02:40Number 19. Sky Lodge Adventure Suites, Cusco, Peru
02:44Not every hotel are built on solid ground, some dangle in mid-air.
02:49Suspended more than a thousand feet above Peru's sacred valley, these glass capsules look like props from a sci-fi
02:55film.
02:56But they're real, and people actually sleep in them.
02:59Welcome to the Sky Lodge Adventure Suites, a hotel designed for thrill-seekers, mountain lovers, and anyone who thinks sleeping
03:06on solid ground is a little too safe.
03:09However, if you are not a fan of heights, you might want to pass on this one.
03:13Why? Because these pods are fully transparent and dangle 1,312 feet above the valley floor.
03:20Getting there isn't exactly room service friendly either. Guests have to scale a cliffside route called the Via Ferrata, or
03:28hike a trail packed with zip lines.
03:30Their reward.
03:32A futuristic capsule suite perched on the edge of nowhere.
03:36Each pod measures 24 feet long and 8 feet high and wide, leaving just enough space to move around.
03:42Made from strong aerospace aluminum and weatherproof polycarbonate, the suites are designed to hold up against the weather.
03:50Inside, you'll find four snug beds, a dining area, and a private bathroom with a dry eco-toilet and a
03:57sink.
03:57A six-foot skylight above opens up to the stars, fresh air and pure mountain magic.
04:03Tiny vents help keep fresh air moving and the curtains allow guest comfort and privacy.
04:08There are only three pods on the mountain, housing just eight guests total.
04:14But inside, thick blankets, soft sheets, fluffy pillows, and warm quilts help keep guests warm and cozy, even with the
04:21cold air outside.
04:23Not bad for a hotel that is basically a window to nature from a mountain.
04:27Number 18. Montana Magica Lodge
04:30Deep within the nature reserve in southern Chile is a hotel that at first glance, you'd swear it was plucked
04:37straight from the pages of a fairy tale.
04:40And if you're the kind of tourist chasing magic over luxury, this place is for you.
04:44With its structure shaped like a volcano and water cascading down the sides, Montana Magica Lodge is located in Huilo
04:52Huilo, Patagonia.
04:53It's surrounded by the Andes Mountains and protected by UNESCO.
04:58The hotel is built entirely out of wood and stone, and it's covered with lush vegetation, making it look more
05:05like a moss-covered mountain as it blends with the trees around it.
05:08Like a hotel from ancient times, one might think that the interior of the hotel will be rustic.
05:14But no. Montana Magica Lodge has all the basic amenities that you can find in any other hotel.
05:21Inside, there's a total of 12 rooms, and each room is designed like a cozy cabin with warm wooden interiors,
05:29animal carvings, and an old-style Chilean layout that takes you right to the past.
05:34And when it comes to relaxation, this hotel isn't lacking.
05:38Guests have access to a spa, sauna, bar, and restaurant, as well as a mini golf course and areas for
05:46kids to play.
05:47There's even a small conference room and library.
05:50And if you want to experience the outdoors, hiking through forest trails, riding horses, and ziplining above treetops, are some
05:59of the many ways you can take full advantage of this.
06:02When it comes to fine dining, you can enjoy the local dishes and Chilean wines while watching the mist roll
06:08through the trees.
06:09But if you are looking for something more daring, how about checking into one with a temperature of 0 degrees
06:15Celsius?
06:17Number 17. Kakslautonen Arctic Resort East Village
06:21Close to a quiet river called Kakslautonen in Finnish Lapland is a hotel that feels like stepping into winterland.
06:29Just 6 km from Urho Kekkonen National Park and about 37 km from Ivalo Airport, this peaceful resort is surrounded
06:38by thick forests, soft snow, and silent skies.
06:42But the hotel isn't built like any other because each guest gets to sleep in glass-roofed igloos with ceilings
06:48that give an open view to the stars.
06:51And sometimes, if lucky one can get a glimpse of the northern lights, while the outdoors can be extremely cold
06:58from 0 degrees Celsius to minus 45 degrees Celsius, the indoors are really cozy.
07:05That's because each igloos are designed to keep guests warm and comfortable.
07:09Even in the middle of the Arctic cold, some of the rooms here come with sleeping bags and shared bathrooms,
07:16while others are actually more luxurious.
07:19There are private saunas, cozy fireplaces, and even mini-kitchens.
07:24And when you think it doesn't get any better, it actually does.
07:28Because for those who prefer more traditional settings, there are wooden log cabins, riverside chapels, and even a Lapland house.
07:36However, it may come as a surprise that none of these rooms have TVs.
07:41And honestly, with everything going on outside, no one misses them.
07:46Who needs screen time when you can focus more on nature's beauty?
07:51There are many activities to keep guests busy during their stay.
07:55From dog sled rides to zooming across the snow on a snowbile, there's always something interesting to do.
08:01For those who enjoy exploring on their own, they can take a hike by renting skis, snowshoes, and walking sticks
08:08which you can get at the resort.
08:09On top of that, there are six other saunas scattered around, each with its own fireplace and a quiet spot
08:16to relax.
08:17Speaking of the sauna, this place takes it seriously.
08:21The resort is home to one of the world's largest smoke saunas, and it even has its own restaurant, Savu
08:27sauna.
08:28And not so far away, there's a traditional ice hole for a quick dip after the heat.
08:34A Finnish habit that might seem a bit wild at first, but many say it leaves you feeling fresh and
08:40recharged.
08:41But if you really want to feel fresh and relaxed in a completely different way, there's nothing that does it
08:48better than being in a cozy room surrounded by your favorite books.
08:53Number 16. Book & Bed, Tokyo, Japan
08:58Have you ever wondered what it feels like to sleep in a bookstore?
09:02Not just to read but actually stay the night, surrounded by shelves and stories?
09:07That's exactly what Book & Bed Tokyo offers.
09:10Located in the heart of Shinjuku, this one-of-a-kind hotel that draws locals and tourists alike.
09:16It's not your typical hostel.

09:264,000 of them.
09:28Here, guests can pick a spot, grab a book, and sink into a world of fiction, poetry, manga, or essays.
09:35Some come for the night. Others just stop by for a nap or a few quiet hours in the book
09:41lounge.
09:42Beds come with a reading light, a power socket, and a curtain for privacy.
09:47The setup is minimal but intentional so that guests can be comfortable and avoid distractions.
09:52Bathrooms and showers are shared, and there's a laid-back common area where readers drift into conversation.
09:59Above the main foyer, huge manga pages float overhead, giving the space a dreamy, in the middle of a comic
10:06feel.
10:07Between the wooden bunks and the walls of books, everything stays clean, simple, and warm.
10:13Japanese and English titles fill the shelves, and while 2,500 books are already in place, there's space for even
10:21more stories to move in.
10:23After all, this place wasn't built for luxury, but it was built for the joy of falling asleep with a
10:29book still in your hand as you escape into the fictional world.
10:33But if books are a gentle escape from reality, then this next hotel is a dream splashed in sunlight and
10:40stone.
10:42Number 15. Kalilo, Greece

11:02Known to the world as Kalilo, this place actually gets its name from the phrase, create a life you can
11:08fall in love with.
11:10And honestly, from the setting to the design, it's clear that's the whole idea behind it.
11:16The artistic ambiance and breathtaking view make it feel nothing like a regular hotel.
11:23Instead, it feels more like you've stepped into an art gallery in London or New York, except this one sitting
11:29right on a Greek island.
11:32Every wall is covered in something creative.
11:35From hand-painted army boots to giant sculptures, all these arts were made by the owner, Angelo Michalopoulos.
11:42He took the initiative to create a world where art spoke for itself.
11:48And sincerely, that's what you feel the moment you step into this work of art.
11:52The lobby is stunning with curved walkway, beautiful artworks, and a waterfall.
11:58Not far from there is Kalilo's only restaurant, and it looks like something straight out of a fairy tale.

12:51They are just as impressive with floor-to-ceiling marble, deep tubs for long soaks, and private plunge pools where
12:59you can truly relax.
13:01While Kalilo is more artistic, serious, and luxurious, this next place is the opposite.

28:10If it's a jungle villa or a treetop hideout, every room here is spacious and designed to blend in with
28:16nature.
28:17Each room comes with beautiful bathtubs, cozy daybeds, and a good view of the jungle or the Caribbean Sea.
28:25And surprisingly, each of the villas are without televisions and electric light.
28:30But that doesn't really matter because guests can spend their time swimming in the cenotes, relaxing on the beach, exploring
28:37the jungle and taking part in yoga and meditation classes.
28:41And it wouldn't be a wellness resort without an impressive spa.
28:46This spa is based on ancient Mayan rituals, but still offers services that are perfectly familiar to international spa goers.
28:54And the suites here are equally breathtaking.
28:58Some of the accommodations available are jungle villas, treetop houses, and beachfront bungalows.
29:04All rooms are spacious and well equipped with modern amenities and private balconies.
29:10And when it comes to fine dining a lot of options are available.
29:14You can eat at a fancy restaurant, grab a bite at the cafe on the beach, or have a drink
29:18at the poolside bar.
29:20Leaving the treetops, let's head out to this next destination with its shire-like charm.
29:27Number 4. Hotel Tapasoli, Mexico
29:31Hidden in the misty mountains of Zlitla, Mexico is a hotel that feels like it belongs in a fantasy novel.
29:37Fans of The Lord of the Rings will immediately recognize the shire-like charm of this hotel,
29:42where Hobbit-style and lush rainforest surroundings create a storybook setting.
29:47This boutique hotel in San Luis Potosi is designed to blend seamlessly with its natural environment,
29:53making it feel like the cottages are part of the jungle itself.
29:58With round doors, stone walls, and grassy rooftops,
30:02these cozy little homes are the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle.
30:06Every detail is thoughtfully crafted to help you relax and unwind.
30:11What makes Hotel Tapasoli so special is its simplicity.
30:15The cottages are warm and welcoming, with a focus on comfort that's hard to resist.
30:21Each space feels like a natural extension of the rainforest, blurring the lines between indoors and out.
30:28It's a peaceful, whimsical retreat where nature takes center stage,
30:32and every corner is thoughtfully crafted for relaxation.
30:36Each space feels like an extension of the surrounding rainforest, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out.
30:43At the heart of the property is a vibrant garden, alive with tropical flowers and framed by the mountains beyond.
30:51A natural pool sits at its center, reflecting the forest surroundings and adding to the tranquil atmosphere.
30:59Here, mornings start with the gentle sounds of birds, and afternoons are best spent wandering the grounds or simply enjoying
31:07the peaceful environment with a book in hand.
31:15There are various hotels in Amsterdam that are all unique in their own way, but one particularly stands out for
31:21its color and stacked-out design.
31:23Known as the Intel Hotel's Amsterdam Zandam, this building looks almost like a real house puzzle.
31:30Not one made from cubes, but one made from nearly 70 traditional houses.
31:35Each of these houses is painted in different shades of green and comes with charming rooftops and white trim.
31:42While the hotel offers all the modern comforts you can find in any other hotel, it also pays tribute to
31:48the rich history of the Zand region.
31:50Each room is decorated with touches that reflect the area's roots, from traditional products to the hardworking people and families
31:58that helped shape it.
31:59It's a place where history is woven into the design without sacrificing comfort.
32:05Located on Provincialeweg, the hotel is a true landmark.
32:09Its 12-story tower is made to look like nearly 70 stacked Zand-style houses, some inspired by real homes
32:17from the past, including the Blue House, famously painted by Claude Monet in 1871.
32:23From grand homes to small cottages, each piece tells a story.
32:29Inside, there are about 160 rooms, a wellness club, free Wi-Fi and its own tourist information.
32:37There's also a Turkish steam bath, a swimming pool, Finnish sauna, and life fitness gym.
32:43So far, we've seen hotels in all shapes and sizes with some looking like sculptures and others towering close to
32:50the clouds, but this next one is invisible.
32:54Number 2, Mirror Cube at Tree Hotel Sweden.
32:59Mirror Cube is an almost invisible tree house tucked deep in the forests of northern Sweden, near the village of
33:05Harads.
33:06Suspended around a single tree trunk, this 4x4x4 meter cube is wrapped in mirrored glass, perfectly reflecting the trees and
33:14sky, and if you are not one who's keen to details, you might miss it.
33:19Inside the mirror cube, everything feels warm, calm, and close to nature.
33:24The walls and ceiling are covered in smooth, light-colored wood that gives the space a cozy cabin feel.
33:31Even though the cube is small, which is about 4 meters on each side, it was designed to include a
33:37double bed, a small lounge, a bathroom, and a water dispenser.
33:42Six windows give you amazing views of the forest all around, and one even looks up into the trees above.
33:50A tree trunk runs right through the middle of the room, reminding you that you're really up in the treetops.
33:56And now finally at number 1 is a hotel that tells stories of a forgotten era.
34:02Number 1, the Museum Hotel Antakya.
34:07Have you ever dreamt of going on an archaeological expedition but felt it was too dangerous or time-consuming?
34:12Then you might want to visit the Museum Hotel Antakya in Turkey.
34:17Located in Hatay, about 26 miles from Kislar Castle, this hotel is modern, elegant, and a little bit sophisticated.
34:25The hotel comes with large rooms, a spa, rooftop restaurants, and pools.
34:31But what makes this place so special is the archaeological excavation that can be found on the hotel floor.
34:38This ancient ruin was discovered by accident during construction.
34:43But instead of clearing it out, the owners spent over 10 years and a lot more money turning the whole
34:49project into something special.
34:51And with the innovative help of the engineers, it was transformed into this luxurious hotel we see today.
34:58This hotel has 200 rooms and 5 restaurants and bars spread across the property.
35:04And the rooms here are spacious and stylish, and are even decorated with mosaic-inspired decor and floor-to-ceiling
35:12windows that give an amazing view of the excavation site.
35:15Thanks for watching, see you in the next video.
