00:00Well, I served Michael with a search warrant.
00:02Had a couple guys go over to his room and office at the court maids.
00:06Oh, yeah? Any pushback?
00:07No, I turned over the keys on the spot.
00:10Well, that's good. It's a good sign.
00:12And you got them to forensics?
00:13Yeah, of course.
00:14I got his key ring and a few other loose ones we turned up at Aurora.
00:19Good.
00:19Hey, this has got to be a long shot, right?
00:22I mean, the last thing that a shooter would do
00:26is leave the key to his victim's house on his key ring.
00:29Yeah, maybe, but it doesn't matter.
00:32We got to do this by the book and cover all the bases.
00:35Well, hey, sorry to keep you waiting.
00:37The editorial meeting went long and was a bit of a disaster.
00:40It's fine. I didn't see Jacinda.
00:42Oh, yeah, and you won't.
00:44I gave her the afternoon off to avoid any unnecessary fireworks.
00:47Oh, great. So, um, why did you want to see me?
00:51Well, uh, I was thinking that since you and Michael sorted out custody
00:55and the kids are going to be spending more time at Drew's house with you...
00:58My house.
00:59Right. Oh, yeah. Thank you.
01:00I'm sorry. Your house.
01:02I was thinking that we could do something fun for them.
01:08That could be great. What are you thinking?
01:10We could throw them a party.
01:12We could get a bounce house for Wiley and Amelia and all their friends.
01:16We could get a catered with all their favorite things,
01:18the chicken tenders and the pizza and the...
01:21I've pledged Sunday, but only if it's comfortable for you.
01:24I know you have a lot on your plate at the moment.
01:27I think that sounds great.
01:30The kids deserve a party. We all do.
01:33We've been through a lot recently.
01:35Yeah.
01:36And there's more to come.
01:40Ah, good. You're both here.
01:42Uh, sorry, Christina can't come.
01:44Mom, what's going on?
01:45Does Mayor Collins want you to work on some sort of project?
01:48Oh, yeah.
01:50A big one.
01:53She wants to give me Drew's job.
01:56Well, I sure didn't expect Mrs. Appleton to show up in a Regency bonnet.
02:00It's bordering on cosplay.
02:04Cosplay? Really?
02:05Cosplay is a Jane Austen thing.
02:07I did not know that.
02:09Perhaps next time I'll show up in me jodpas.
02:13Breaches, right?
02:13They're breaches. Sorry, he wears breaches.
02:15All right, well, I can't wait to read the rest.
02:17Until next time.
02:20Who are you talking to?
02:22Hi, Christina.
02:23Uh, it was Miss... Mrs. Stockton from book club.
02:27You're in a book club?
02:29Yeah. I read.
02:31Wow, that is great.
02:33Cos I got a real page-turner for ya.
02:38Hey, Mom.
02:39Um, sorry to drop in.
02:40I... I know you have an important job and stuff, but...
02:44And I do this all the time, but...
02:46This time it's really important.
02:48Sweetheart, I'm always available to you.
02:50Tell me, what is it?
02:51Sure, because...
02:52I know it's like the middle of the day, and you've got important mayoral stuff to do, so...
02:57Why don't you hold that thought, okay?
03:05Can you hold all my calls, please?
03:07And also, could you see if you can push my 3 p.m.?
03:10Great. Thank you.
03:11I'm with my daughter.
03:12I don't want to be interrupted.
03:18This is about Maxie, isn't it?
03:25Spinelli?
03:32Spinelli, are you okay?
03:36Oh, uh...
03:37Yeah, I was just...
03:39I was just ruminating.
03:41Oh.
03:42Well, I'm sorry.
03:42I just let myself in.
03:43I didn't think anyone was home.
03:45Didn't mean to interrupt your ruminations.
03:46I just wanted to stock the fridge.
03:48Where are the kids?
03:49Oh, uh...
03:50Georgie and James walked to the store to get some welcome home decorations for Maxie,
03:54and, uh...
03:56Bailey Lou's down for her nap.
03:58Good.
03:59Yeah.
04:00Well, Maxie's coming home today.
04:02It's amazing news, right?
04:03Oh, it's a...
04:04It's a dream come true day.
04:08Can I ask, then, why you seem so dumb?
04:15I was, um...
04:18I was just preparing our bedroom for Maxie's return, and...
04:22It just struck me.
04:26I was so happy living here.
04:30Was?
04:30As in the past tense, was?
04:32Are you going somewhere?
04:36No can do.
04:37Me and the book club are three quarters of the way through pride and prejudice.
04:42I gotta keep my head in the story.
04:44Well, I'm sure you can find some extra brain space for this one.
04:49Is that what I think it is?
04:51Yep.
04:53I know you started it, but since you didn't bother finishing it, you have no idea how it ends.
04:57Did Molly tell you to bring that to me?
04:59No.
05:00She has no idea what I'm doing.
05:02After everything else I've done behind her back, I figure why start telling her now.
05:07I'm not touching it.
05:08There's a steep price for violating Molly's privacy.
05:12Hope you're ready to pay it.
05:14Mayor Collins wants you to fill Drew's seat in Congress?
05:17Well, it's not Laura's call to make, but the governor did ask her for a recommendation, and she wants to
05:24recommend me.
05:25This is fantastic news.
05:27I'll start by liaising with Congressman Cain's staff, and then you're going to need your own network in D.C.
05:32Oh, okay, slow down.
05:34We're not getting on the train to D.C. just yet.
05:38Well, I knew you were going to get your kids back.
05:40All it took was for you and Michael to lay down your weapons and agree to a compromise.
05:45It's reassuring to know that even Michael realizes how important it is for your kids to have you in their
05:51lives.
05:52Michael doesn't think me being in the kids' lives is good for them at all.
05:56If he had his way, I would never see them.
05:59Wait, what?
06:00Still?
06:01I mean, how did you guys come to an agreement?
06:02Michael didn't agree to share custody because he thinks it's what's best for the kids.
06:05He did it to avoid the visitation hearing.
06:07He's concerned that the judge would take away all of his rights to Wiley and Amelia if he ends up
06:11getting charged with Drew's shooting.
06:14But all of that is Michael's problem now.
06:16I have something much more important to consider.
06:19I'm almost afraid to ask.
06:21I have been contacted by several of Drew's political associates, and with him being incapacitated,
06:27they want me to serve out the remainder of his term in Congress.
06:32I've been praying for Maxie to wake up.
06:38I feel like I have been holding my breath for the last six months.
06:42Yes, I know, because every day that she doesn't wake up adds to the odds that she never will.
06:49I was never able to say that out loud.
06:53I couldn't even put the thought out there.
06:56It's a fear I'm very familiar with, but she's awake now.
07:03There's nothing to worry about.
07:05I know, and I'm so happy for Maxie and her family.
07:12A family that includes Nathan now.
07:16Yes.
07:19But that's what makes this so wonderful.
07:23Maxie isn't just coming back to us and our children.
07:28She is coming back to the love of her life.
07:32Yeah, if you could put a rush on the analysis of those keys I brought over earlier,
07:35Commissioner, I'd appreciate it.
07:37Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll tell them.
07:40They're on it.
07:41Great, thanks.
07:44Hey, man, why don't you get out of here for the day?
07:46Your shift's almost over, and Maxie's coming home.
07:49Yeah, I got it.
07:51Actually, I'm going to ask if you had anything else around here you needed doing, you know,
07:54paperwork or something.
07:55What do you mean?
07:56Like, you mean you want to stay busy here?
07:58I want to not mess things up.
08:03I have no idea what's going to happen when Maxie and I are face to face.
08:07Forget about me.
08:08Let's focus on Maxie.
08:09She is, she's coming home.
08:11And as you correctly noted, it is an amazing day.
08:14Okay, Spinelli, come on, please.
08:17Tell me why you're so upset.
08:21Because I, I took someone's certainty and made it my own.
08:26And then on the drive home, I, that certainty faded with every passing mile and reality settled in.
08:35I realized that how I handle what happens today will change my life.
08:41If I don't rise to the occasion, I could lose Maxie.
08:50And my family.
08:53I am the one who violated Molly's privacy by sending the manuscript to her agent.
08:58She never intended on anyone reading it for her.
09:01It was just a creative exercise.
09:03A creative exercise where she made it very clear she thinks I'm a complete doofus.
09:07Oh, Cody, could you just maybe try to be a little less self-involved?
09:11The character Casey is loosely based on you.
09:14And yes, he is a doofus in the beginning.
09:18But he has a true hero's journey.
09:21By the end, he is revealed to be very compelling, cool, and deep.
09:26I'm not buying it.
09:28Okay, you know what?
09:31Casey is not the doofus here.
09:33You are.
09:34Just read the damn book.
09:36I'll read it when it's published.
09:38I'll even bring it to book club.
09:39Me and the ladies will decide how deep Casey is.
09:42Oh, that would be, that would be great if the book were going to be published.
09:46But it's not.
09:48Look, all Laura is doing is, is making a recommendation.
09:52That doesn't mean the governor is going to offer me an appointment.
09:56Maybe, but Laura is a straight shooter and a political insider.
10:00I'm sure she wouldn't be asking you to do this if she didn't think you'd be offered the position.
10:04And it makes all the sense in the world that she'd want you, Mom.
10:06You're perfect for the job.
10:07She's right.
10:08With your skill set and passion, you were made for this, Alexis.
10:12Mm-hmm.
10:13Oh, well, yeah, I really appreciate all of your support.
10:16I do.
10:16And the more I think about it, the less I think I should do it.
10:21You taking Drew's congressional seat is a fantastic idea.
10:27What a wonderful opportunity.
10:30You think so?
10:31Yes, Willow, you would be next in a long line of political spouses who have served in place of their
10:38elected partner.
10:39It is a calling, an honor even.
10:44But I don't know anything about politics at the federal level, and I wouldn't have time to learn.
10:50I would just have to jump right in.
10:51Willow, you are a quick study.
10:53And you already have the necessary people skills.
10:56You have been a teacher and a nurse.
10:58And you were amazing as a spokesperson for the New Tomorrow Institute.
11:03Plus, you have a secret weapon.
11:07What's that?
11:09May.
11:10I think you can comfort yourself with the knowledge that you did absolutely everything you could for her children and
11:16her parents and even Spinelli.
11:19None of that is lessened by the fact that you and Nathan developed feelings for each other.
11:26Mom, any feelings that Nathan and I may have had, they only came about because Maxie wasn't here.
11:33But now that she is coming home where she's supposed to be, she has every right to reclaim her life.
11:38Yes, the circumstances have changed.
11:42I get that.
11:44But, and it is a blessing.
11:47It is.
11:48But the feelings that you and Nathan have for each other are, you know, they're, they're real and they're legitimate,
11:54huh?
11:55Mom, I can't feel this way.
11:57Even if it is right for me, even if it is right for me, it is wrong for everyone else.
12:04Look, I get that.
12:07You want to give Maxie space and you don't want to overwhelm her.
12:12But honestly, I thought you would be really wanting to see her.
12:15I, I, I am.
12:16I do.
12:17I, I, it's, it's just not about me.
12:18It's not just about me.
12:19I, I got to think about James, too.
12:21You know, and the last thing that I want is for my reunion with his mom to, to confuse him
12:27or for things to go sideways somehow.
12:29Well, why would it go sideways?
12:30Maxie's going to be as happy to see you in the flesh as everybody else was in this town.
12:34I'm sure that part of Maxie's going to feel that way, of course, but, but what about the part that
12:38moved on seven years ago?
12:39How's that part going to feel?
12:40Well, yeah, I mean, it's, it's a complicated situation.
12:43Yeah, I mean, uh, so much has changed for Maxie.
12:46She got back together with Spinelli, a guy that, that she loved and had a kid with before she even
12:51met me.
12:52You know, I, I just don't want to become an obligation that, that she's got to deal with.
13:00Are you thinking you're going to lose Maxie because Nathan's back?
13:05Maxie is aware that Nathan, her husband, is alive and here in Port Charles after being dead for seven years.
13:14That's, that's too much for a person to handle.
13:17It's certainly too much for this person.
13:19Well, Maxie can handle whatever life throws at her.
13:21You're just assuming that you're going to lose Maxie and you haven't even given her a say.
13:26Don't you think she's going to want one?
13:30Molly never intended for her manuscript to be published, so she's turning down the book deal.
13:36Why?
13:38Because I sent it to her agent behind her back without her permission.
13:43So, in her mind, she never had the opportunity to polish it and make certain very important characters were exactly
13:50the way she wanted them to be.
13:52Well, why can't she just change them now?
13:54Because the editor at the publishing house thinks the book is perfect exactly the way it is and won't let
14:00her change a word.
14:01For the record, I agree.
14:03Okay, so, Molly has a, a perfect book, but she won't let it be published.
14:08Exactly.
14:10That's how much she cares about you and your feelings.
14:14Did Molly say that?
14:17Come on.
14:19Mom, you are a fierce and fearless advocate.
14:23Who is better equipped to speak truth to power than you?
14:26Honey, being able to frame an argument in court is, is one thing.
14:29Being a politician, you have to do more than just be able to make an, an opinion and defend it.
14:36Alexis, you could make a real difference, and we need intelligent and informed women in office.
14:42We do.
14:43We need more truth tellers.
14:45Well, that is what everyone says they want, but that's not what really happens.
14:49You know me.
14:50I say what I think and I vote for the way I believe.
14:53I don't know that I'm going to be able to compromise my values.
14:56Well, don't look at it like that.
14:58Look at it as compromising for the greater good.
15:03You can do that.
15:04Look at how you've handled Willow and Drew, all in service of Scout.
15:10Let's not forget that Drew won his congressional seat because of me.
15:14Drew didn't have the network.
15:15I did.
15:16I facilitated all the high-level introductions, including Congressman McConkie,
15:21who wouldn't have given Drew a second look if I hadn't endorsed him.
15:24And I bet you don't regret any of it.
15:27I made a horrible mistake backing Drew.
15:29So did everyone who voted for him.
15:31But you, you were going to be a different story.
15:36You could be exceptional.
15:40What makes you so sure that voters would see something in me?
15:43Because of your heart.
15:47You're more equipped to do good than Drew ever was.
15:52When I talked to Jason, he argued that Maxie getting back together with Nathan was not a foregone conclusion.
15:58And that despite them having an epic romance, what Maxie and I have is special in its own right.
16:04Yeah.
16:04And guess what?
16:05Spinelli, Jason's right.
16:06You are not going to throw in the towel.
16:08No, no, no.
16:08I don't intend to just roll over and give up Maxie.
16:12No, no.
16:12I love her.
16:13I have no doubt that she is the great love of this life and every other life.
16:19But you, you didn't see Maxie with Nathan.
16:27I did.
16:30She was so thoroughly in love with him.
16:37I mean, why wouldn't she be?
16:39You know, he's, he's tall and handsome and heroic.
16:44Spinelli.
16:44Okay, just how shallow do you think Maxie is?
16:49Well, Maxie's life changed a hell of a lot.
16:51The time that I was gone, I have to imagine her feelings have too.
16:55It sounds to me, man, like you're trying to talk yourself into letting her go.
16:59Shouldn't I?
17:00She's got a whole life with, with Spinelli.
17:03One which by all accounts is good and happy.
17:05And she shouldn't have to...
17:08What, honor the promises she made before everything changed?
17:11Yeah.
17:12Yeah, exactly.
17:13You might know something about that, don't you?
17:16What do you mean?
17:17Well, you might know what Maxie's going through better than anyone.
17:21I don't know.
17:21I think you and Lulu are in a better position to empathize than I am.
17:25See, but that's the thing.
17:26For, for Lulu and me, time just stopped.
17:29You know, but for the people in our lives, they moved on.
17:32They had to.
17:33And Maxie made a life with someone else.
17:35Just like you did with Sam.
17:38Sweetheart, whatever feelings you're having for Nathan, it's okay.
17:44Don't judge yourself for having a feeling.
17:48If it's okay, then why do I feel so guilty?
17:53Because you're a good person.
17:55You're a good friend.
17:57No, I'm not, Mom.
18:00A good friend visits you at the hospital every week and gives you an impeccable manicure when you can't do
18:06it for yourself.
18:07That is a good friend.
18:09But that's not me.
18:14I am the type of friend who kisses her best friend's husband and then tries to make excuses that it's
18:22okay to pursue a romantic relationship with him.
18:25I don't think a real friend does that.
18:28Stop.
18:29Stop right now.
18:30I'm not going to let you do this to yourself.
18:33It was a very complicated situation.
18:35You know that.
18:38Maxie and Nathan had been apart for years, remember?
18:41Maxie didn't even know that Nathan was alive.
18:44And plus, she'd moved on with her life.
18:47But has she?
18:48Really.
18:50Because I was there.
18:52I saw up close and personal what Nathan's supposed death did to Maxie.
18:57It wrecked her mom.
19:00And now that he's back and she's going to be coming face to face with the love of her life?
19:04Why wouldn't that change everything for her?
19:09I know.
19:11Yeah.
19:12And I appreciate it.
19:13I'm sorry.
19:13I don't mean to take it out on you.
19:14You're not.
19:16Honey, if I had to guess, I would say that you have suddenly realized that maybe your feelings for Nathan
19:24were deeper than you thought.
19:28Yeah, I'm okay.
19:30I'm not sweetheart.
19:34Oh, dear.
19:35These things just kind of sneak up on us.
19:387-3.
19:41Closed captioning is brought to you in part by Roger Satellite.
19:46Canada.
19:50Oh, dear.
19:52These things just kind of sneak up on us, don't they?
19:56Maybe.
19:57Yeah.
19:59Well, we've talked a lot about how you feel.
20:04But have you talked to Nathan yet?
20:07I mean, how does he feel about all of this?
20:11If you had known that Lulu was going to wake up, would you have given up the life that you
20:16had with Sam to be with her?
20:23Well, Lulu and I weren't even together when she got hurt.
20:29And Sam died before Lulu woke up.
20:34So the timing was different.
20:35You know, and the timing matters.
20:40But I loved Sam.
20:42And I was committed to her, and I really wanted us to spend the rest of our lives together with
20:48our kids.
20:49Of course you did.
20:51And what if Maxie is just as committed to Spinelli and the life she made with him?
20:58You're right, okay?
20:59I wasn't in poor Charles when Maxie and Nathan were together.
21:02I did not witness their grand love affair, but I did witness yours.
21:07No one had a better seat for the magical Maxie and Spinelli show than me.
21:11There were some magical moments.
21:12Yeah, and I saw them with my own two eyes.
21:15I watched the two of you become real-life partners, build a life together.
21:19I watched you guys' co-parent, James, and Georgie, and Bailey Lou.
21:24How you stood by Maxie no matter what was thrown at you.
21:27And do you know what else?
21:29What?
21:30I watched Maxie find her way back to you.
21:36Spinelli, when Maxie talks about you, her eyes light up.
21:40She loves telling stories about how smart and funny you are, and just how loyal you are, and what a
21:46wonderful father you are, and how you guys just fit together.
21:50Okay, I know that she feels all those things.
21:52Okay, then why are you assuming that her relationship with Nathan...
22:03What?
22:05I watched Maxie find her way back to you.
22:10Spinelli, when Maxie talks about you, her eyes light up.
22:14She loves telling stories about how smart and funny you are, and just how loyal you are, and what a
22:21wonderful father you are, and how you guys just fit together.
22:25Okay, I know that she feels all those things.
22:26Okay, then why are you assuming that her relationship with Nathan means more to her than everything the two of
22:31you guys have created together, right here in this house?
22:56You would have never chosen to defend Willow, but you still managed to get her acquitted.
22:57Okay, then why are you assuming that her relationship with Nathan means more to her than everything the two of
23:02you guys have created together, right here in this house?
23:07You would have never chosen to defend Willow, but you still managed to get her acquitted.
23:12You navigated tension and conflict with people you care about for Scout's sake.
23:17You knew she needed you.
23:19You compromised, and Scout's better off for it.
23:23And that's what politics is.
23:25I mean, you're not going to agree with or like everyone that you work with,
23:29but if the endgame is doing what's best for your constituents, then maybe all the compromising is worthwhile.
23:38Okay.
23:40You're making good points.
23:41I see them.
23:43I'm actually even maybe buying into some of it.
23:47I mean, I'm going to have to compromise, but I could still do some good.
23:53Because I'm good.
23:56But am I doing this for the greater good or for my own ego?
24:01Drew used the power of his office as a weapon in his personal vendettas, of which he had many.
24:07But you're going to use the power to help your constituents, the same ones that Drew promised to care for,
24:13but just ignored.
24:15But my experience is with people.
24:17I don't know the first thing about policy.
24:19That's exactly why you'll succeed.
24:21You're not some slimy shark jockeying for position.
24:26You're warm and you're engaging and people will want to work with you.
24:31I don't know.
24:33You really think that?
24:34Yes!
24:36Drew has what?
24:38Almost a year left in his term?
24:40That is nothing.
24:41If politics isn't for you, then you just walk away after the term is done.
24:45But if you like it, it could change the trajectory of your entire life.
24:52It could empower you in ways that you never dreamed of.
24:58This guy's still a doofus.
25:01You have the attention span of a four-year-old.
25:03Did you already forget the deal we made a half hour ago?
25:05No, I remember.
25:06I finished reading Molly's book.
25:08You tell me what she said about me.
25:09I can't read with you looming over me.
25:11I'm not looming.
25:13I'm not tall enough to lean.
25:14You do realize it's going to take me a while to finish this, right?
25:18Yeah, I didn't think that part through.
25:20Okay, we should probably just cut to the chase.
25:24All right.
25:26Molly bottles up her emotions, but writing is her outlet.
25:29It has been since she was a kid.
25:31She pours her heart onto the page, and suddenly she's written a book.
25:35It's magical.
25:37And it's annoyingly productive.
25:39She is terrifyingly productive.
25:41But my sister would rather keep all of that magic hidden in a drawer than to ever hurt you in
25:46any way.
25:48Does that tell you how much she cares about you?
25:50How could accepting this opportunity, on the mayor's request, I might add, be about your ego?
25:58Look at Drew.
26:00He was a decorated Navy SEAL who just wanted to serve his country.
26:04He's also a vacuous pit of need that no amount of validation can fill.
26:08But he wasn't always like that.
26:10So maybe it was the politics that corrupted him and turned him into the psychopath that he is today.
26:16You are not Drew.
26:18You have principles and purpose and a moral compass.
26:23And I have way more faith in you than I ever did in Congressman Cain.
26:27Or some crony that the governor is going to appoint in some backroom deal.
26:32Look, you don't have to take this job, Mom.
26:34You don't owe anybody anything.
26:37But I think you would be incredible at it.
26:40And I know I would love to see you representing me in Congress.
26:45Me too.
26:47Thank you both.
26:48I appreciate your faith in me.
26:51But this isn't just about me.
26:54If I take this position, it'll have consequences.
26:58Mostly on Scout.
27:00I haven't talked to Nathan.
27:04Yet.
27:05But what would be the point?
27:06He never stopped loving Maxie and they're about to be reunited.
27:10I'm sure he's thrilled.
27:14I'm sure he's thrilled that she's awake.
27:17But I would not assume that you know all of his feelings.
27:21I mean, he might be as confused as you are right now.
27:23Isn't that even more reason to stay away?
27:25I don't want to complicate the situation even more.
27:30I just want these feelings to go away.
27:37Life would be so much easier if we could just snap our fingers and make all of our feelings vanish.
27:43Right?
27:44I know it doesn't work that way.
27:47And I really hate it.
27:48Yeah.
27:50But the good news is, our hearts are big enough to hold all of our feelings.
27:58Even the ones that contradict each other.
28:02The thing I feel most is that Maxie deserves her happy ending.
28:11And so does Nathan.
28:14But the person I feel really bad for is Spinelli.
28:20I would choose Maxie a thousand times over in every universe.
28:27But if circumstances hadn't ripped Nathan out of Maxie's life, what are the odds that she would have chosen me?
28:33Well, you're going to find out now.
28:35Because Maxie gets to make that choice.
28:37And look, I'm sure that is scary for you, but maybe it's scary for her too.
28:42I mean, I would never begrudge her her happiness.
28:48If she chose to be with Nathan, I mean, I'd be devastated.
28:55But I mean, of course, I would support her.
28:57I would respect her decision.
28:58Which is another reason why Maxie loves you so much, Spinelli.
29:04Maxie didn't settle for you.
29:05She chose you.
29:07Let her choose you again.
29:10You know what?
29:11It sounds like you're making assumptions about Maxie, and I have learned that that is never a smart thing.
29:15Yeah, I know you're right.
29:17I don't know if she didn't be trying to guess.
29:19Why don't you just let her set the pace?
29:21I am.
29:22You know, knowing her, her first priority is going to be the kids, which it should be.
29:25Yeah.
29:25I mean, those kids are getting their mom back.
29:28And James is going to have both of his parents together for the first time.
29:31I mean, that is amazing.
29:32He's going to love that.
29:34I hope so, man.
29:37You know, doing what's right for him right now is what's important.
29:40And if Maxie wants to try again with our merits, then I'll do that, because...
29:43Wait a second.
29:44You're going to get back with Maxie because that's what James wants?
29:49I mean, it's got to be what you want, too.
29:53So, do you?
29:55This is so important to you.
29:58Because I love my sister, and I don't think she should pass up this opportunity.
30:03Also, because I think about the books that have mattered to me, books that my mom and
30:09my sisters and I have loved and shared.
30:11And I think this could be one of those books.
30:14I think this could mean something to people.
30:16What makes it that special?
30:17It's a lovely story about two people who really take the time to get to know each other beyond
30:23biases and first impressions.
30:26I think the world could use more of that.
30:30I hate that you have a good reason.
30:32And because I think that my sister deserves to see her work published.
30:38She deserves to see people posting about it on social media, finding it on shelves in bookstores.
30:44Molly says writing is just a hobby, but she's really good at it.
30:48Even I can tell that.
30:49Cody, your opinion matters to her.
30:53That's why I want you to read the book all the way to the end, keep an open mind, and
30:58then
30:58decide what you think about it.
31:00And what if I don't love Casey's hero's journey?
31:08That my sister was wrong about you.
31:12She thinks you're a hero.
31:14This is your chance to prove her right.
31:35If I take this position, I will give up being a private citizen and become a public official
31:40and all that goes with that.
31:42I've been in prison.
31:43I've been disbarred.
31:45I'm a recovering alcoholic and all of that is fair game and that will be brought up in
31:50the public square for debate and none of it is good.
31:53Now, if it were just me, I'd handle it.
31:56But it's not.
31:57It's all of you girls.
31:59It's you.
32:00It's Scout.
32:00It's Christina.
32:01And I don't think it's fair to impose all of this on you girls.
32:04Okay.
32:05Yes.
32:06Yes.
32:06All of that is likely to get brought up by your opponent.
32:10But think of what you'd be modeling for Scout.
32:12She's right.
32:15You'll be showing your granddaughter how to face challenges head on and overcome them.
32:20She'll look at all you've accomplished and learn that, like her grandmother, she can
32:25triumph over adversity.
32:28Sometimes people don't know what they can do or who they can be until you show them.
32:34So, show them.
32:40You make a very persuasive argument.
32:43How'd you get to be so smart?
32:45I learned from the best.
32:47You've inspired me every day of my life.
32:50So, Alexis?
32:53What do you think?
32:55What do you want to do, Mom?
32:59I want to serve in Congress.
33:01Yes!
33:03Oh, my gosh!
33:07You make this all sound so easy.
33:09Oh, no, no.
33:10It won't be easy.
33:11No.
33:12But it'll be worth it.
33:15And I'll be with you every step of the way.
33:17We can do it together.
33:21But how would I find the time?
33:23I just resigned from the hospital, but I'm going to have my kids living with me part-time.
33:27And now I'm supposed to take on this huge job?
33:29Well, your children will take presidents, of course.
33:31But don't forget, they're going to be with Michael 60% of the time.
33:34And that's more than enough time for Congress.
33:36And Michael, he's just going to have to work around your schedule because my daughter is going to be serving
33:42our country in Washington, D.C.
33:46What about Drew?
33:47I brought him home so I could take care of him.
33:52Sweetheart, it's time to consider putting Drew in a long-term care facility.
33:57It's really what he needs.
33:59And if you're serving his term, what a wonderful thing you're doing for Drew.
34:04If he can't serve, you're the only person he'd want in his place.
34:12So you think that Maxie will choose Nathan?
34:17Spinelli knows how much Maxie loved Nathan and that she never stopped loving him.
34:23I think he will generously bow out, even though it'll shatter him.
34:29Oh, poor Spinelli. Such a beautiful heart.
34:34I think about that kind of pain for him.
34:38I guess it's good that Nathan and I barely got started.
34:44It just doesn't feel that way.
34:47I know.
34:51What happens, though, when Maxie sees Nathan for the first time?
34:58And is dazzled by those ocean blue eyes.
35:03Well, then let her be dazzled, okay?
35:04Dazzled is a temporary state.
35:06And that's not me putting down what Maxie and Nathan had.
35:09It's just me knowing what's in Maxie's heart.
35:12And you, Spinelli, are the one that sweeps her off her feet.
35:16I am?
35:17Yes.
35:19And you do it every day.
35:22I do.
35:24Yes.
35:26I will.
35:30I will sweep Maxie off her feet, but...
35:35I do need an assist from you.
35:38You and Maxie are recommitting to your marriage.
35:40I mean, it's got to be about the two of you, right?
35:42And obviously, you can't speak for Maxie, but you can speak for yourself.
35:46So what do you want to do?
35:53Yeah, falconary.
35:58I see.
36:00All right.
36:01Yeah, thanks for letting me know.
36:05Bad news?
36:06Well, yeah, you're never going to believe this, but forensics found a match on one of Michael's keys.
36:12Really?
36:13Yeah.
36:15My brother lied.
36:18He has a key to Drew's house.
36:19He has a key to Drew's house.

Willow pierced her nose? It doesn't fit her look, or her personality at all, even being more cut throat of a person. Willow has been wearing much darker makeup lately, I think to give her a harder, less innocent look. Now, that works for her, but the nose ring is really overboard. I don't get it, does an attempted husband murderer, stroke causing person suddenly need a nose ring? It's dumb.

Right off the bat, Nathan is sussing that someone set Michael up--finally a decent detective back at the PCPD! Can't believe Willow for Congress is a thing at all. So much no. Just because you're married to a politician doesn't make you one. OK, I don't care for this storyline at all, but Cody at ladies book club is hilarious. And yeah, if everyone could just stop discounting the importance of Spinelli to Maxie, that would be great. He has known her sooooooooo much longer than Nathan!
