00:31It turned its head and looked at me. I have never been so afraid in my entire life.
00:41For many centuries, people have reported strange and sometimes terrifying encounters with what they describe as monsters.
00:50Its eyes just lit up in the moon and we're like, that is nothing I've ever seen.
00:57If I try to run, I'd be dead.
01:00Now, for the first time, some are sharing their experiences.
01:04Is there a pattern to their encounters?
01:07It was just terrifying.
01:10And if so, what could it mean?
01:20Columbus is Ohio's largest and fastest growing city.
01:24But outside the city limits, the concrete gives way to thick woods, territory said to be home to a towering
01:32creature known as the grass fan.
01:36This rural area's woodlands and forests are just the kind of places where an undiscovered creature might still exist.
01:45The grass man gets its name from the large dens it allegedly makes out of grass and sticks.
01:55The creature has been described as standing between 7 and 10 feet tall and weighing as much as 300 to
02:021,000 pounds and having this long black hair.
02:06Many people believe the grass man is this subspecies of the Bigfoot family in Ohio.
02:15Reports of the grass man date back as far as the 19th century.
02:19One of the first accounts describing the grass man is from an Ohio newspaper from July 22, 1869.
02:27In that report, the creature is described as an aggressive wild man that's gigantic in height and which allegedly had
02:33attacked a man and his daughter days before.
02:36There have been over 300 reported sightings of the grass man in Ohio since the 1970s alone.
02:46Despite the extensive history and volume of sightings, many still question the grass man's existence.
02:55But in 2017, near the Columbus suburb of Galena, one resident reports an encounter that is uncomfortably close to home.
03:07This incident happened in 2017.
03:09I've lived in this area my entire life.
03:11I bought a house.
03:13It backed up to a private 65-acre reserve called Spruce Run.
03:19I used the woods for hiking.
03:22Wildlife and nature is kind of my church.
03:25I had a Doberman named Dozer, which was my best friend.
03:30Our routine was I would get home and there he'd be waiting for me.
03:34And we'd go do our hike.
03:38But this particular day was anything but routine.
03:43I got home late from work.
03:45I want to say it was 5 or 6 o'clock.
03:48Dozer had had surgery about a week prior to that, so he hadn't been able to hike with me.
03:53And he was starting to recover.
03:56And I got home and he's there, his tail's wagging.
04:00He stared at me.
04:02So I'm like, all right, let's go for a hike.
04:06At that time, it was like dusk.
04:08We had at least a good hour.
04:10So I'm like, we'll do a short little hike and then we'll get back before dark.
04:14No big deal.
04:17We hike out through my property and it dead ends into Spruce Creek.
04:24And I just start my normal routine.
04:28Michael says he's only 10 minutes into his hike, when suddenly everything changes.
04:38I'm hiking with Dozer and we're just having a good time.
04:44And I just happened to look up and there's a little clearing on this ridge.
04:49And I see this thing come out.
04:54It was hairy.
04:56It was so black.
04:58And it's like doing a belly crawl.
05:01It was parallel to the ground.
05:04Perfectly level.
05:05It melted my mind.
05:08It's like nothing that I know on earth moves like this thing.
05:11I'm like, it's not a coyote.
05:13It's definitely not a bear.
05:14I'm going through my mind.
05:16All these things, what am I seeing?
05:17What am I looking at?
05:20So I'm just watching this thing.
05:23And all of a sudden it turns and just stares right at me.
05:28And then in one leap, kind of does like this Superman.
05:32And it jumps down from the top of the ridge into this bush.
05:3820, 30 yards in one leap.
05:42My body goes into shock.
05:44It was at that point, maybe 20 feet from me.
05:47It was right behind this bush.
05:50I'm like just trying to think, what did I just see here?
05:53So I start walking towards it.
05:56I think I was just bewildered.
05:58And I just naturally started walking around just so I could see,
06:01maybe get a better look at what I was dealing with.
06:03I take maybe 10 steps towards this and this rock about the size of a grapefruit hits the creek right
06:14beside me.
06:16That kind of just stopped me in my tracks because I know there's something behind that bush.
06:21And now I know something from somewhere else just through a rock that landed right beside me.
06:26And as I turn around, that's when everything erupted around me.
06:32On my left side, I see this large limb come this way.
06:37Land.
06:39And then by the time I register that, here comes another limb on this side.
06:43And then it's like something's in the treetops shaking the trees because the leaves are falling.
06:49And it's just a whirlwind of commotion.
06:58So I'm believing at this time that I'm being surrounded.
07:03I felt defeated at that point.
07:05I felt like I'd walked into a trap and now I was in their world.
07:10And I felt like I'm not getting out of this.
07:18I'm panicked at this point.
07:21So I grabbed Dozer, I grabbed him real tight.
07:24And we start walking right through the middle of the creek.
07:29I just concentrated and I just walked.
07:33Reaching the safety of his home, Michael allows himself to believe the ordeal is behind him.
07:40I finally got home and it was like, okay, now I can breathe.
07:45This house had a two-story deck.
07:48And right off the bedroom was part of this deck.
07:52My mind's still going a mile, a million miles an hour.
07:56So I just went out on the deck and, you know, kind of take a big deep breath.
08:02But as soon as I went out there, I hear something in my backyard.
08:10It knocks over my pool furniture.
08:12I literally jumped back into my bedroom like a kid, scared.
08:18I've got some cameras right there.
08:21So I grabbed one and I turned it on.
08:26A little light you're seeing is the moon.
08:29I'm standing there panning the woods.
08:32I'm on the second story of the deck.
08:35And it hits right underneath me.
08:37I can feel it.
08:39Hey!
08:40That sounds like a gunshot.
08:42I get back in my bedroom.
08:44I shut the door.
08:48I was in my bedroom and I was kind of leaning, leaning on my bed, just staring at that door.
08:56I'm thinking to myself any minute, this thing's going to come through that door.
08:59We're all going to die.
09:01With no escape possible, Michael remains trapped in his home for the rest of the night.
09:08The next day, I get up.
09:10And the first thing I kind of look outside, slowly open the door.
09:16My pool furniture was knocked over.
09:18My chain link fence.
09:21The entire top rail of it is bowed in like a smiley face.
09:26And this is thick steel.
09:27I looked underneath my deck and I can see in the mulch bed, large impressions, like 15-inch impressions.
09:38It was footprints.
09:40I had a handprint about like this on the back of my deck.
09:44So I'm just piecing everything together and looking around like, like, wow.
09:53In the months after his experience, Michael continues to investigate the area with a friend and even captures this thermal
10:02image of what he believes to be the same creature.
10:08This changed the way I feel about the woods.
10:13Nature is still my church.
10:16I just know that sometimes bad things can happen, even at church.
10:32Spotsville, Kentucky.
10:35For more than a hundred years, residents here reported something strange stalking their farmland in woods.
10:42A creature known as the Spotsville Monster.
10:50Described as large, upright, and hairy, the monster has been blamed by this agricultural community for the disappearance of valuable
10:59livestock over the years.
11:02Sightings would come and go.
11:03But in 1975, a major report would once again put the residents of Spotsville on edge.
11:11The Owensboro Messenger Enquirer reports on new evidence of the creature when a local firefighter, Ray Vibbert, describes having a
11:19terrifying encounter.
11:20Ray was squirrel hunting when he saw a huge, hairy creature and even made a plaster casting of a footprint
11:26that he found, which he gave to local law enforcement and said was too large to have just been a
11:30bear.
11:30The police even stake out the field looking for the monster.
11:34But whatever it was, it never came back.
11:38Months after Ray's encounter, Barton Nunnally's family moves in next door.
11:43They soon have a story of their own to tell.
11:47It was early winter of 1975.
11:52My family moved to a little isolated farmhouse on the banks of the Green River.
11:59We were always outdoor people, and it seemed like a perfect location.
12:06The family settles into their new home.
12:09But as the months pass, unsettling signs begin to surface.
12:14Springtime came.
12:15Our chickens started disappearing.
12:18That was the first little bit of concern that my dad felt about that place.
12:24We'd hear strange noises out off in the fields at night, and we started finding dead dogs.
12:32I remember the first day my brother and I found one.
12:34It was laying in one of our fields.
12:37It had been cut from its neck all the way down to between its hind legs.
12:44It was so strange.
12:48We had a gulp.
12:49We chained it right outside our bedroom window.
12:53I remember hearing that gulp bleak.
12:56Ah, ah, ah.
12:59But it would be getting further and further away in the distance.
13:04Until I couldn't hear it anymore.
13:07The next day we got up, and the chain had been broken.
13:13And the goat was gone.
13:15The Nunnalies believe it to be the first of many farm animals they would lose to the Spotsville monster.
13:23We ended up killing over 250 chickens.
13:26We killed our pony and eight or nine dead dogs.
13:29We found a dead pig that was mutilated.
13:32It was just kind of crazy.
13:36So we got scared for our safety.
13:41Following countless attacks, Barton Nunnally says the culprit finally reveals itself.
13:47First time I saw the creature was when we were standing on the porch, waiting for the school bus.
13:55Looking down the road, we've seen this black hairy figure.
14:01It had to be at least nine or ten feet tall.
14:03It had thin, gray, tinged hair.
14:09We all screamed and ran into the kitchen.
14:14It really sunk in, just what kind of situation we were in.
14:19It felt really, really scary.
14:22Despite their fears, the Nunnalies don't run.
14:25They dig in.
14:28Martin's father installs an overhead light in the front yard, hoping to keep the creature from the house.
14:35We were always looking for evidence of that creature.
14:38I found two different track ways.
14:40One was coming up from the Ohio River toward our house, and one was coming across a muddy field at
14:46an angle toward our house.
14:49They'd be screaming out in the fields at night, and they would come up and turn our door handles.
14:56My dad was really, really protective of his kids, and he really started to fear for our safety.
15:03After weeks of terror, the family decides to take a stand.
15:07Older brother Harold had the idea to get a bunch of friends up on the roof and kill this thing
15:13once and for all.
15:16So he gathered up my cousin, here for my dad's friends, and they got up on the roof, and they
15:22were going to end the Spotsville monster.
15:26As night falls over Spotsville, the group takes their positions, determined to end whatever's been stalking their property once and
15:36for all.
15:36They heard it growl.
15:40They said that thing sounded like it could have reached onto the roof and grabbed either one of them.
15:46That's how big this thing sounded.
15:49They started opening fire, and it sounded like World War II up there.
15:56They had rifles, they had shotguns with deer slugs, they had pistols that they unloaded onto this area where this
16:02thing was standing.
16:05They were all scared to death.
16:07They said, well, I think we got it, because we lit those woods up.
16:13By morning, the men go looking for the beast they are sure they killed.
16:19We went out and looked, and we could see where the bullets were ripped through the vegetation.
16:24There was no blood, no hair, should have been there dead.
16:29If it was a natural flesh and blood animal like a bear, it would have been laying there.
16:34But there was no sign of the creature.
16:37Barton says the encounter becomes the family's breaking point.
16:41Mom had pretty much had it.
16:43It almost felt like we were captives of our own home.
16:47That ended up running us off of the property, if not for all the creature activity.
16:52And we would probably be living there right now.
16:58Barton Nunnally's family managed to escape their Kentucky home, and whatever was encroaching on it.
17:05Around the same time, in New York, a family will find there's no escape from the darkness within their walls.
17:15Just over 30 miles from New York City lies Amityville, a quiet village on Long Island's southern shore.
17:24It's known for its waterfront views, small town charm, and a home forever linked to a series of disturbing events.
17:34The first, in 1974, is a gruesome domestic massacre that destroys the town's sense of serenity,
17:43makes national headlines, and inspires one of the most notorious horror movies of all time.
17:50The Amityville Horror.
17:53On the night of November 13th, 1974, in Amityville, 24-year-old Ronald DeFeo Jr. shoots and kills his entire
18:02family as they lie sleeping in their beds.
18:07Since he was the only one who found his family and the only surviving family member, he was brought down
18:13to the station for questioning.
18:14And within 24 hours, he confesses to the murders, saying, and I quote,
18:20It just started. It went so fast, I couldn't stop.
18:26He later recants his confession, and pleads not guilty by reason of insanity,
18:32saying at trial that voices inside the house made him do it.
18:36But the judge and jury do not believe him, and sentence him to six consecutive life sentences.
18:48In 1974, a house in Amityville, New York, becomes a scene of domestic horror when a man murders his family.
18:58But for the family that moves in next, the true horror is still to come.
19:05In 1975, George and Kathy Lutz and their three kids see this home as a potential dream come true for
19:12them.
19:15George and Kathy say they were aware of the murders that had occurred in the home just one year prior.
19:21But neither of them had any reservations about buying the house.
19:26They don't own enough furniture, so they end up paying $400 to keep some of the DeFeo's family's furnishings in
19:33the home.
19:35The dining room set, the master bedroom set, even the daughter's bedroom set.
19:42They have no belief in anything superstitious or paranormal.
19:47Though the Lutz's don't believe in the supernatural, Kathy is religious, so she invites a Catholic priest to bless the
19:55house.
19:56The priest begins on the first floor and makes his way up to the third floor, sprinkling holy water and
20:01saying a prayer as he goes.
20:04But when he gets to the third floor, he claims to distinctly hear a male voice say,
20:10Get out.
20:14The priest is terrified, but he doesn't tell the Lutz family what he heard because he's still struggling to try
20:19and understand himself.
20:22Over the next few weeks, the family claims more unexplained events occur inside the home and always at the same
20:31time of night.
20:33George says he wakes up at 3.15am because he hears a weird knocking sound.
20:39He gets out of bed and goes over the window, where he sees a shadow moving near the boathouse.
20:47He's scared, but he gets dressed anyway and heads outside.
20:53As he walks toward the dock, he claims that the door to the boathouse has been torn from its hinges
20:58and is knocking in the wind.
21:01George is obviously confused. He wonders how did this all happen.
21:05He checks the surrounding area, but doesn't see any sign of an intruder.
21:11One night, George wakes up at 3.15am again to the same knocking sound.
21:17He goes over to the window and can see that the boathouse door once again is knocking against the building.
21:25George is furious. He runs outside and props the door back into place.
21:31But when he turns back around, he sees something really frightening.
21:39He claims two red eyes are shining out of the window of his daughter's room.
21:48George runs straight up to Missy's room.
21:52But when he opens her door, she's sound asleep.
21:56And no one else is in the room.
21:59The next day, George visits the local newspaper's office
22:04to search for information about the DeFeo murders that happened in his home.
22:10He's looking for any kind of connection to what they've been experiencing
22:15and finds out that the murders took place in the house at 3.15am.
22:22Kathy also reports wondering if their home is haunted,
22:25but neither of them is really willing to fully accept this idea.
22:31One night during the week of Christmas,
22:33George and Kathy start a fire in the fireplace.
22:37All of a sudden, Kathy starts screaming.
22:42She's pointing towards the fire and when George looks over at the flames,
22:46he's terrified to see a horned figure's head in the fire.
22:51They both claim it looks like the devil.
22:59George grabs Kathy and pulls her away from the room.
23:03When he goes back to see the fire, the face is gone.
23:09This and all of the other unexplained incidents in the house
23:13have now convinced them.
23:15Their home is haunted.
23:18Roughly two weeks after their alleged fireplace vision,
23:21their haunting takes a darker turn.
23:27By this point, the family is sleeping together in the same bedroom.
23:32The kids are in the bed and the parents are sleeping on chairs.
23:36George wakes up and his son is standing next to the bed crying.
23:41The boy tells them that there is a monster in the house and that that monster tried to grab him.
23:49The boy says,
23:50Suddenly, George claims he hears the family dog barking from the hallway.
23:56He runs out and that's when he sees it.
24:00A giant white hooded figure with the same devil face he saw in the fire.
24:09This figure is apparently standing on the staircase staring at them.
24:15George screams to Kathy to grab the boys and get out of the house while he picks up his daughter.
24:23They run down the main staircase just in time to see the front door completely ripped from its hinges.
24:29They just get out of the house.
24:34They leave everything behind.
24:37The Lutzes flee for their lives and from whatever evil remained from the murders that occurred inside that house.
24:46In the days before Ronald DeFeo Jr.'s death in prison, he claims he didn't murder his family by himself.
24:54He had help.
24:56Some investigators have even said that the brutal murders couldn't have been pulled off by one person.
25:08Thauk, Arkansas.
25:10A quiet rural town in the southwest corner of the state, surrounded by marshlands and dense forest.
25:19It's not the kind of place that typically commands attention.
25:25But on the night of May 2, 1971, one couple's encounter with a massive, hair-covered beast would thrust the
25:36community into the national spotlight.
25:40Bobby and Elizabeth Ford were just normal newlyweds, moving into their new home and found.
25:46One night, something big and hairy came right up to the front door.
25:52It reached in through their screen, and Bobby grabbed his gun and fired.
25:59The Ford's encounter ignited widespread media attention.
26:03It inspired the creature's name and, forever, etched the tiny town of Fauk, Arkansas into American folklore.
26:10Reported encounters with this creature started popping up across the Midwest, in Illinois, in Indiana.
26:17There were theories that the creature was following the rivers and forests that connect the deep south to the Midwest,
26:23just like other migrating animals do.
26:28Skeptics expressed doubt that whatever lurked in Fauk would travel that far and wide.
26:35But two years after the Ford's encounter, Joni Mahan, hundreds of miles away in southern Indiana, believes she came across
26:44the same creature.
26:45I grew up in southern Indiana, in a very rural area.
26:51And my father had about 40 acres of land, and he built his own house.
26:56There wasn't a town surrounding us.
26:58There weren't any children to play with.
27:00We were so isolated.
27:02There was nothing but woods.
27:04I just had to keep myself occupied most of the time, and I did so by going out into the
27:09woods.
27:09It was a magical place for me.
27:14But I was really drawn to a section of woods behind my father's house.
27:20A lot of tall, old-growth trees and a nice canopy overhead, and the birds were always singing.
27:27And I went down there all the time, every chance I got.
27:31I grabbed my dog, and off into the woods we went.
27:35There was an old hollow tree.
27:38I think it got hit by lightning back in the day.
27:42It made a perfect fort for me.
27:45My dog, Sassy, and I would go down there and hang out.
27:51But on that particular day, birds were chirping, and the skies were blue, and the temperatures were warm.
27:59It was definitely a place of safety and comfort.
28:03There were a lot of dried leaves on the ground.
28:07I immediately took my shoes off because I wanted to feel the bare ground under my feet.
28:13I was carving my initials into the inside of the tree because I kind of wanted that to always be
28:18my tree.
28:20When all of a sudden I heard leaves crunching.
28:26We were so far out in the middle of nowhere, nobody should have been out there.
28:31I stopped and listened because I wasn't sure what I was hearing.
28:37Everything was just dead still, like there was something there, something was wrong, something was watching me.
28:46I walked over to the edge of the hill because I wanted to see where this sound was coming from.
28:54And I could see something moving through the bramble.
28:59It was kind of that reddish-brown color, and I could catch glimpses of it as it moved through.
29:06And I was terrified.
29:08This wasn't human.
29:12It was about seven feet tall.
29:14It was very thin, and the hair and the fur was very tangled and matted.
29:20It looked very unhealthy.
29:23As it stepped out from behind the bramble, it was hopping sideways, almost like an ape.
29:29And then it came all the way out into the open and it stopped.
29:34It turned its head and looked at me and locked eyes with me.
29:39I have never been so afraid in my entire life.
29:44And then all of a sudden Sassy noticed, and she started barking.
29:51I didn't know what this thing was going to do.
29:55I got about a three to four second look at it before my paralysis broke.
30:00I just needed to get out of there.
30:03I grabbed Sassy by the collar and we went running all the way through the woods.
30:13In southern Indiana, young Joni Mahan and her dog are running for their lives.
30:21Pursued by a sinister creature she believes is the legendary Fouke monster.
30:29This wasn't human.
30:30I just needed to get out of there.
30:35I came bursting in through the door.
30:38My mother was in the kitchen and I was frantic to tell her what I'd just seen.
30:43And she really didn't believe me.
30:46My mother was more concerned about the fact that I was barefoot.
30:51She wanted me to go back into the woods to get my shoes, which was terrifying for me.
30:57But it's starting to get dark and that thing might still be there.
31:00It might be waiting. It might be sitting there holding my shoes.
31:03But I needed them for school and I was a fairly obedient child.
31:08Joni is able to convince her mother to let her wait until the next morning before she returns for her
31:14shoes.
31:15The next day, it was a bright sunny day. It was nice.
31:20I grabbed Sassy and I'm like,
31:23Come on, dog. We're going out into the woods. We got to get my shoes.
31:26I was terrified.
31:30I walked as quickly as I could to that hollow tree and there were my shoes sitting right there where
31:37I'd left them.
31:41It really scared me.
31:42I wasn't sure that I would see that creature standing there still staring at me.
31:48But there was nothing there.
31:51I looked at the stream to see if it had left any footprints behind because it was still pretty muddy
31:56there.
31:57And I did see some kind of large footprint in the mud.
32:02Seeing the footprint made it real.
32:07I didn't stay very long because I wasn't sure that it wasn't still there waiting for me.
32:13So I headed out of the woods as fast as I could.
32:18And this time, Sassy was pretty eager to come with me.
32:24That event took away my place where I felt safe.
32:29I no longer went back in there because I didn't know what was in the woods waiting for me.
32:35I still have that image locked firmly in my mind.
32:39It was the Falk monster.
32:44Nobody could ever convince me that I didn't see it.
32:50Domestic disturbances take on many forms.
32:54For some, like Joni, it's an encounter with a legendary creature.
33:00For a South Carolina girl named Gwen Johns, the unknown takes on a different form.
33:08Not a creature, but a moment out of time.
33:14Or what many call a time slip.
33:20Liverpool, England, 1996.
33:24A policeman reports something extraordinary from his daily patrol.
33:30He steps off the sidewalk onto Bold Street and immediately steps back in time.
33:39The policeman is in the exact same location, but it's the 1950s.
33:44The cars are old.
33:46Stores that haven't existed in years appear right in front of him.
33:50And then just like that, he's in the modern world.
33:57The officer's story becomes one of the best known alleged examples of a time slip.
34:05A time slip is basically when someone finds themselves at another point in history.
34:09Like they just kind of step through a doorway in time.
34:12It usually only lasts for a few moments, but it feels totally real while it's happening.
34:19Stories of time slips happen all the time.
34:22And one prominent one took place in 1901 when these two women were touring the French Palace of Versailles.
34:29And they both reported that suddenly it was as though the palace was populated with people from a century and
34:35a half earlier.
34:36And that it all seemed completely real.
34:41Then there's the mysterious case involving Gwen Johns.
34:46A young girl who moves with her father to South Carolina in 1981.
34:53I was a dad's girl. I used to help him work on cars. I was around eight when my parents
34:58got divorced.
35:01My uncle had an old farmhouse that our great great uncle had lived in that was not occupied, but just
35:07kind of run down.
35:10So my dad decided to move us there, myself and him.
35:15It was further in the country than I was used to.
35:19So, you know, we pull up.
35:21I remember thinking, I don't want to go in here.
35:26And we walk in the house.
35:28It was old.
35:30Must have been 20 years since anybody lived there at all.
35:34Gwen's father shows her around the house, but his demeanor changes when they reach the front room.
35:45My dad said, do not go in this room, because there are things in here, and they're locked up, and
35:50you need to leave them alone.
35:55It pretty much cut me off any time I asked about it after that.
36:00But that stuck in my head.
36:02Every room just felt really heavy and dark.
36:06I didn't like to be in the house at all.
36:10It was almost like I was always being watched.
36:15One cold fall evening, Gwen and her father are in the kitchen making dinner.
36:20And he remembered he had to go to my uncle's house, which was just right up the driveway, basically.
36:27I was scared because I never stayed alone there.
36:38Gwen John's father leaves her alone in their new house in South Carolina for the first time.
36:44I was scared because I never stayed alone there.
36:51So I thought, if I could see my dad down the driveway, I won't feel as alone.
36:57And from the front room, I can see better, but I'm not supposed to go in there.
37:02Her father had given her strict instructions never to go into the front room.
37:07But Gwen does so anyway.
37:11I slowly walked toward the front room, turned the handle, and it opened.
37:19And I remember smelling the dust.
37:22And there's dust covers on the furniture.
37:25And there was a mirror that was covered also, and that just creeped me out.
37:31Getting to the window, as I pulled the curtain open, I remember smelling fresh.
37:36And the heat from the summer heat.
37:40It looked almost a different season.
37:43Everything was clear and sunny.
37:46And that day was not hot and sunny.
37:52It looked like summer.
37:55As Gwen looks through the window, she hears an unfamiliar noise coming from outside.
38:04It was sputtering.
38:06Like a tractor.
38:09I didn't remember my uncle having a tractor.
38:12But I saw a tractor and an older man.
38:17And he had, like, blue jean overalls.
38:21It's a floppy old worn hat.
38:25His face was weathered.
38:27And he was on the tractor.
38:29And then I remember hearing, like, that sound if you hit metal.
38:34And then something came off the tractor.
38:37And it hit him in the head.
38:42Just kind of slumped over and fell off.
38:46I remember seeing the blood.
38:48It was in slow motion, almost.
38:51And I remember panicking, like, I need to go help him.
38:54I need to go save him.
38:57I ran out of that room through the house.
39:00And the house was not the same.
39:05It was a new era.
39:08Everything was clean.
39:10No dust.
39:12Smelled very fresh.
39:14Was well taken care of.
39:17I opened the door in full panic.
39:21It was bright.
39:23Sunlight and the heat.
39:25I could feel something horrible had happened.
39:28But as I stepped through that doorway, it was not summer anymore.
39:36It was gloomy, cold, chilly afternoon again.
39:42And I felt totally different and confused.
39:47Something in me was looking for the tractor, but I didn't see anything like that.
39:54I couldn't figure it out.
39:55I was like, you know, am I crazy?
40:01My dad's coming down the driveway.
40:03I ran to him and I was trying to tell him what happened.
40:07And I remember him going, quit making things up.
40:11My closest person, not to believe you.
40:13It felt terrible thinking that I had dreamed it.
40:18I want an explanation of why that happened to me.
40:21Years later, Gwen learns a secret truth about her own family.
40:27One that gives her a degree of closure.
40:31As a young adult, I went to a cookout.
40:34It wasn't a family reunion, but it was a lot of people.
40:37And I remember somebody saying,
40:39Great uncle had an accident in front of the house on his tractor and he died.
40:47I found a couple pictures in front of the house.
40:54It just flipped and switched.
40:59The blood just went.
41:04That really happened because all that time, I thought it was in my head.
41:09This was real.
41:12Then I walk into a different time, what I would call a time slip.
41:16The first time I heard about time slips, I remember thinking,
41:21I'm not alone.
41:27Home.
41:29It's meant to be a place of safety.
41:32But these strange encounters and bizarre incidents
41:37show how such safety is never guaranteed.
41:46Like...
41:46And here I'm thinking,
41:46We are still hearing from which I want to have and back and forth.
41:46And I need any questions and pause.
41:47Some questions and impact my thoughts are cela ki.
