00:00Hi, good morning. Welcome back if I've already seen you. How are you doing? Good?
00:08You are at the discovery stage, the place of discovery, of learning.
00:16And the next 30 minutes are two solutions, startups, with very much human-centered tech, a device and a robot.
00:27So let's get started. The first company goes by the name of Ashiraz, and it is a device to help
00:38people with visual impairment and to guide them with intuitive vibration, and there's no vision or sound which is needed.
00:48So here to tell you more, I'd like to welcome to the stage Ryohei from Ashiraz.
00:55Come.
01:02You're good.
01:20On t'es avec un...
01:28Thank you all for coming. We are Ashiraz from Japan.
01:36We are creating a new world of mobility, a brand new navigational device for the visually impaired.
01:44Ashiraz is the first startup spawn out of Honda.
01:51Today, I'm here to find a partner to expand our product to the world.
02:00Visually impaired, you've seen them walking with a cane or guide dog in the city, but have you ever thought
02:10how challenging for them to go out alone?
02:18We empower them to be freedom of going out anytime, anywhere.
02:30We empower them to be freedom of going out anytime, anywhere.
02:46So imagine, you are on your way from, but suddenly, your vision is like this.
02:55Or perhaps like this.
02:58Every step became a very careful task to avoid danger, relying on all your senses, listening carefully, using a cane
03:09to search obstacles, and search ground.
03:16Yes, this is a daily reality for visually impaired people.
03:23So, we free them from one of the big tasks, checking the road.
03:33So, look at my shoes.
03:35This is Ashiraz, the world's first issue vibration device.
03:43By providing intuitive guidance, no need to check the road, checking on smartphone's map, or block your ears with navigation
03:55sounds.
03:58So, you can focus on the very important task, staying safe and walk with confidence.
04:09The usage is very simple, put on your daily shoes, attach device, set destination in the app, and the vibration
04:22will start.
04:26You just follow the vibration as you walk.
04:29No need to hold your smartphone.
04:36Our device consists of issue type device and smartphone's app.
04:50So, device includes not only the vibration motor for navigation, but also a barrier sensor to detect the foot movement.
05:02or a walking direction.
05:04It connects to the smartphone's app via Bluetooth for real-time communication.
05:14Our product is built on three key technology areas.
05:20Device user interface, high precision positioning, and flexible route generation.
05:33Our goal is not just to guide us.
05:38It's to enhance the cognitive abilities of visually impaired people, empowering Zen, independence, and confidence.
05:52So, our in-shoe type device is designed by, how you can say, ergonomically optimized interface.
06:02It's extremely compact and lightweight, so comfortable that the user often forget wearing it.
06:13And delivering gentle vibration, it provides intuitive and clear guidance.
06:25It's also high water-resistant and durable, relying on even heavy rain.
06:35So, to provide accurate location information, we utilize not only the smartphone's location data, but also the similar sensor from
06:49Astridis device.
06:50For many of our users are enabled to perceive the spatial information visually.
07:00So, the location, accuracy of location data during navigation is extremely important.
07:08By integrating the sensor data with smartphone's location data through AI-based data fusion, we can estimate the location positioning
07:22during navigation in extremely high accuracy.
07:30By recording the location during navigation, we can log the routes that users find easy to walk.
07:44The routes are integrated in the map database through AI-based map matching,
07:52allowing us to accumulate variable walking history.
08:01By using walking history data, we developed appropriately route generation algorithms.
08:13In this example, purple line shows shortest route.
08:22While blue line is a little longer but simpler route, many of our users prefer blue one.
08:33Working with confidence and peace of mind matters more than simply minimizing the route.
08:44Our device also includes a variety of features to help users.
08:51Among them, two of the most popular are AI image recognition, which helps interpret environmental surroundings.
09:01And AI recommends search, which uses generative AI to suggest useful or interesting nearby place.
09:18This September, we will expand our device overseas, starting with Europa.
09:31So, we already testing in Europa, hear from users.
09:43Could you have sounds?
09:50I always found my way to understand, like to re-route myself and guide myself around.
09:58I think it's a life-changing device, for me at least.
10:05Thank you.
10:07In fact, we are getting the same reaction as in Japan.
10:12So, we believe we can bring our product to the world.
10:19Root generation for outside areas.
10:23We can create accessible navigation in the SimPack.
10:33as a part
10:34of growth strategy
10:35we plan
10:37to bring
10:41the device
10:42into the new
10:44business such as
10:46cross-selling, map servicing
10:50or tourism business
10:57so I'm looking
10:58for a partner to help
11:00expand our world
11:02new device
11:03whether you are a provider or
11:06wearable device related to technologies
11:08providers or map related
11:10technology for inside, indoor
11:12or outside
11:14distributors, agent
11:15or investors
11:16we would love to connect with you
11:21let's
11:22work together to bring
11:24this smart
11:27inclusive mobility
11:28to the world
11:33last I'll end
11:34with
11:34users' words
11:36the more places I can go
