00:03Police responded to reports of a number of people having been stabbed on Marylands Road

00:10Police attended and located three people with apparent wounds.
00:14Police assisted paramedics to treat the injured parties.
00:18Unfortunately one male was pronounced deceased at the scene and other two victims were treated
00:25by ambulance paramedics and have been taken in critical condition to hospital.
00:31A short time later after a police operation police located a male behind a house on Smyth
00:39Street in Marylands.
00:41The male has been arrested and police will allege he was involved in the wounding.
00:46The alleged offender is known to police for petty crime and a number of mental health incidents.
00:53He is not linked to the address he was located however he is a local to the area.
01:00Police are unaware at this point what the motive was however it appears it was a random attack.
01:06The male has a history for low level crime but most of his history with us is mental health
