French prosecutors launched investigations into major dairy brands after widespread infant formula recalls tied to potential cereulide contamination and reported infant deaths.

00:13contamination, according to CNBC. The Paris prosecutor cited alleged deception over goods
00:19posing a danger to human health, an offense punishable by up to seven years in prison
00:23and a $4.45 million fine. Nestle said it detected traces of cirulide in December
00:29and recalled 25 products in 16 European countries.
00:33Recalls have since expanded to more than 60 countries.
00:36The French health ministry is reviewing three reported baby deaths.
