Chief Executive of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) Katie Pettifer urges parents to check any Aptamil and Cow & Gate infant formula they might have in their cupboards, because of the possible presence of the toxin cereulide. Food company Danone has recalled several batches of the formula because of concerns over traces of the toxin, which can cause vomiting and sickness in children. Report by Keechl. 00:00So the most important thing for parents to be doing is to check their cupboards, to check whether they have any batches of Aptimil Cowengate or Nestle SMA that have been recalled.
00:09And if they find those, don't use them, take them back to the stores and switch them for a safe batch.
00:14They can be assured that the products that are on the shelves now are safe.
00:18Both Danone and Nestle have told us that they're no longer using the affected ingredient.
