Three teenagers have been remanded for four days on suspicion of throwing firecrackers into the home of an elderly resident in Taman Senawang Jaya, Seremban.

The incident, which was captured on video and quickly went viral, sparked public outrage over the weekend.

00:19approximately 8.12 p.m. on Saturday. A video of the incident circulated rapidly on social
00:24media, drawing widespread condemnation from the public. Police received a report related
00:30to the case at 1.45 p.m. on Monday. By that evening, all three suspects, aged between 14
00:37and 16, had been apprehended in the Seremban district. Police Chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim
00:45said the suspects have been remanded until February 20th for further investigation under
00:50Section 8 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1957. Offenders face penalties of up to seven years'
00:57imprisonment, a fine of 10,000 ringgit or both.
