Something big is happening between Russia and Iran… and it’s happening in the sky. Over just three days, at least three massive Russian cargo planes quietly flew from southern Russia straight into Iran.

No announcements. No press conferences. Just heavy military transport aircraft landing near Tehran. So… what’s on board?

Flight trackers picked up multiple Russian Il-76TD heavy transport aircraft flying from Mineralnye Vody to Karaj, a city just west of Tehran. This isn’t a random civilian route.

Karaj’s Payam Airport sits close to key Iranian military and defense facilities. And the aircraft being used? The Il-76TD isn’t your typical cargo jet — it’s built to carry tanks, helicopters, and heavy military equipment. And here’s where it gets interesting. This exact method was used before.

In late 2025 and early 2026, Iran received several Mi-28NE attack helicopters — the export version of Russia’s fearsome Mi-28 “Night Hunter.” They didn’t arrive by sea. They didn’t arrive publicly. They arrived aboard the same type of aircraft.

00:25Something big is happening between Russia and Iran,
00:29and it's happening in the sky.
00:31Over just three days,
00:33at least three massive Russian cargo planes
00:36quietly flew from southern Russia straight into Iran.
00:40No announcements, no press conferences,
00:43just heavy military transport aircraft landing near Tehran.
00:47So what's on board?
00:49Flight trackers picked up multiple Russian IL-76TB heavy transport aircraft
00:56flying from Mineralnye Vodi to Karaj, a city just west of Tehran.
01:01This isn't a random civilian route.
01:04Karaj's Payam airport sits close to key Iranian military and defense facilities.
01:10And the aircraft being used?
01:11The IL-76TD isn't your typical cargo jet.
01:16It's built to carry tanks, helicopters, and heavy military equipment.
01:20And here's where it gets interesting.
01:23This exact method was used before.
01:26In late 2025 and early 2026,
01:29Iran received several Mi-28NE attack helicopters,
01:34the export version of Russia's fearsome Mi-28 Nighthunter.
01:38They didn't arrive by sea.
01:40They didn't arrive publicly.
01:42They arrived aboard the same type of aircraft.
01:45Soon after similar flights were tracked, images surfaced from Tehran showing Mi-28NE helicopters in Iranian camouflage,
01:55assembling and conducting test flights.
01:57That delivery changed Iran's attack helicopter capabilities overnight.
02:02Now the flights have resumed.
02:04Three flights in three days.
02:06That's not routine logistics.
02:08That's tempo.
02:09Analysts believe these aircraft could be carrying additional Mi-28NE attack helicopters, spare parts and weapons systems,
02:18or entirely new strike platforms.
02:21Given the pattern, the assumption is clear.
02:24Russia is intensifying military deliveries to Iran.
02:28This isn't happening in isolation.
02:31Iran has been supplying Russia with drones and missile technology.
02:34Russia, in return, appears to be upgrading Iran's air power.
02:39Neither Moscow nor Tehran are confirming anything.
02:42But the flight paths don't lie.
02:44And when heavy military transports start flying this frequently between two sanctioned powers,
02:51it usually means something significant is moving.
02:54Not just Russia, China is also secretly arming Iran.
02:58Recent reports suggested that Iran may have received China's YLC-8B-3 3D long-range surveillance radar,
03:08a system designed specifically to detect stealth aircraft, like the F-35 or B-2, as well as ballistic missiles.
03:16Social media, OSINT accounts, and pro-Iran channels have amplified the story, calling the radar game-changing for Iran's air
03:25defenses.
03:26Some articles connect deployment to post-conflict upgrades after Iran's reported 12-day war with Israel in late 2025.
