15:06You've got a few headlines for us. I can
15:08grab this. So, just a couple
15:11notes from the past week
15:12in terms of game news. So,
15:14we have a nice little blog post
15:16article from Square Enix, our
15:18friends who are developing Dragon Quest
15:203 HD 2D
15:22Remake.
15:24Got it all in one go, and
15:26there's a lot of quality life
15:28things happening with this game.
15:30You know, if you've seen
15:32the trailer for it, it's like a fusion
15:34of pixel art plus, you know.
15:36But yeah, so there's new party
15:38customization and things like that,
15:40but what really stood out to me
15:42is this new Monster Wrangler
15:44vocation, which
15:46is basically, if you're familiar with
15:48I'm really, really, I'm excited
15:50about this game because I'm not super
15:53like, you know,
15:55I guess, like, familiar
15:56with this series.
15:59Contrary to all the tattoos,
16:00which is so good. I know, and I just think that
16:02the slime's cute.
16:03You know, and the one thing
16:06I do know about it is I played a little bit of it,
16:08and the monsters are a mixture of
16:10adorable and little areas. Oh, yeah.
16:12The Akira 3D designs are
16:14truly timeless and iconic.
16:17And what better way to
16:18interact with a series that's
16:20known for their monsters than this Monster Wrangler,
16:22so you can kind of befriend these monsters
16:24such as the slime,
16:26and you have, like, access
16:28to different beastly abilities
16:30that you can unleash.
16:31I have to give a shout-out to
16:33one of my favorite
16:35Dragon Quest monster names I've ever heard,
16:38which was
16:39Cruel Conqueror.
16:40And it was basically just a big
16:42cucumber with, like, a
16:44spear or something.
16:45And so if there's more of that
16:47to be had in this,
16:48I feel like I might know my
16:49location when this game comes out
16:50on November 14th.
16:51Yeah.
16:54I'm familiar with
16:55several Dragon Quest,
16:56but I never, like,
16:57took the full dive
16:58and played, like,
16:59Final Fantasy for many, many years.
17:01I'd play and finish every single one,
17:02and I've finished more
17:03Final Fantasies than
17:04happened.
17:05Yeah.
17:06Me too.
17:06Dragon Quest, it's kind of the opposite,
17:08where I'm like, oh,
17:08I've finished the first one
17:10and then played through
17:11most of 8,
17:12and a lot of 9,
17:14and a little bit of 11,
17:16and they're all good.
17:16It's just, like,
17:17they're huge games,
17:18and if you don't know,
17:20I think the blog does go
17:21into a bit of this, too,
17:22in the intro paragraph
17:23on PlayStation Blog,
17:24but the history of this game
17:26is profound.
17:27Like, this was a,
17:28maybe not even just
17:29genre-changing moment,
17:30it was a video game industry
17:32changing moment in Japan
17:33for Dragon Quest 3.
17:34This was, like,
17:35the original,
17:35there are lines
17:36around the block.
17:38Everyone is, like,
17:38everyone is playing this game,
17:40and this started,
17:41you know,
17:42certainly kickstart,
17:43jumpstarted a franchise
17:44that was already
17:45fairly well,
17:46from Dragon Quest 1 and 2
17:47and no slouch,
17:47but, like,
17:483 is, like,
17:49kaboombo.
17:49And then from then,
17:50you know,
17:51you can read up on it
17:51all over the rest of the internet,
17:53but, like,
17:53this was a profound release
17:54back in the day,
17:55and to have this kind of
17:56treatment done to it
17:57is certainly exciting,
17:58and it seems like
17:58a great way to experience it
17:59if you never did.
18:01That's what I'm excited about,
18:02is both from, like,
18:03I'm kind of in the mood
18:03for a game like this,
18:05but also I love
18:05the historical element
18:06of it being able to see,
18:07like, oh, what,
18:08how did this inspire,
18:09you know,
18:10maybe Japanese game developers
18:11that went on to make
18:12some hyper-modern RPGs?
18:14Surely, you know,
18:15many grew up playing this game.
18:16Absolutely.
18:18And a big part of this,
18:19I think,
18:19was this vocation system,
18:20which is the Monster Rango
18:21is what I mean.
18:22So it's awesome
18:23for them to spice it up
18:25to get a perfect fit.

18:31on EA Sports FC25.

18:50from a few years back,
18:51but a little bit
18:52more intimate.
18:52This one's like a 5v5
18:54sort of arcade-y style mode
18:55that you can just jump into
18:56for quicker matches.
18:58I love when those modes
18:59come around
19:00and the rare opportunity
19:01that I play one of them
19:02because it means
19:02people play in,
19:03you know,
19:04sports games
19:04when sports games
19:05were just,
19:06you know,
19:06you had your,
19:07you know,
19:08Super Nintendo
19:09or your Genesis
19:09or whatever,
19:10and you're just like,
19:10I guess I want to play soccer.
19:11Yeah, yeah.
19:12And it was right next to,
19:13you know,
19:13one other platform
19:14where you're playing.
19:16And it's less of a sin.

19:18And so I always flirt
19:20with the idea
19:21of jumping in
19:21a little bit every year
19:22and I love these kinds
19:23of modes like Rush Mode.
