00:06:52God, every nation and people, from the very beginning of creation, you may manifest your love when our need for a Savior was great.
00:07:03You sent your Son to be born of the Virgin Mary.

00:07:12Lord, bless all who look upon this manger.
00:07:16May remind us of the humble birth of Jesus and raise up our thoughts to him,

00:13:42As we gather today, we're a joyful day of birth together to celebrate this most holy of nights, this whole holy night that we celebrate our Savior's birth.
00:13:52And the Lord came in a very simple environment, a stable, a cave, the trough that is there is one that the animals came to feed on.
00:14:02And now he's food for us as well in the Eucharist. As we gather today to celebrate his birth, to celebrate his gift to us,
00:14:11we're reminded that we continue his work in the world by the way we live, by the way we love.
00:14:17And together, let's ask the Lord to forgive us for the times we have not been true disciples in this kingdom.
00:14:24Lord Jesus, your mighty God and Prince of Peace, Lord, have mercy.
00:14:33Lord, have mercy.
00:14:34You are Son of God and Son of Mary, Christ, have mercy.
00:14:38Have mercy.

00:14:43Lord, have mercy.
00:14:44May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and one day bring us into everlasting life.
00:14:51May Almighty God and Prince of Peace, Lord, have mercy.

00:18:27A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
00:18:36The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
00:18:43Upon those who dwelt in the land of bloom,
00:18:47a light has shone.
00:18:49You have brought them abundant joy and great rejoicing,
00:18:54as they rejoice before you as at the harvest,
00:18:58as people make merry when dividing spoils.
00:19:02For the yoke that burdened them,
00:19:06the pole on their shoulder,
00:19:08and the rod of their taskmaster,
00:19:11you have smashed as on the day of Midian.
00:19:15For every boot that tramped in battle,
00:19:18every cloak rolled in blood,
00:19:21will be burned as fuel for flames.
00:19:23For a child is born to us.
00:19:28A son is given us.

00:19:43Father Forever,
00:19:46Prince of Peace.
00:19:48His dominion is vast and forever peaceful,
00:19:52from David's throne and over his kingdom,
00:19:57which he confirms and sustains
00:20:00by judgment and justice,
00:20:03both now and forever.

00:26:10The Lord be with you. With your spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke.
00:26:16The Lord be with you. With your spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke.
00:26:36In those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled.
00:26:43This was the first enrollment when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
00:26:49So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went off from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem.
00:27:04Because he was of the house and family of David. To be enrolled in Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
00:27:13While they were there, the time came for her to have her child. And she gave her to her firstborn son.
00:27:21She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. Because there was no room for them in the evening.
00:27:30Now when there were shepherds in that region, living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.
00:27:37The angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord showed around them. And they were struck with great fear.
00:27:46The angel said to them, Do not be afraid. For behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy, that will be for all the people.
00:27:56For today, in the city of David, a Saviour has been born for you, who is Christ and Lord.
00:28:04And this will be a sign for you. You will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
00:28:14And suddenly there was a great multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying,
00:28:22Glory to God in the highest, and of earth, peace to those on whom his family rests.
00:28:30The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
00:28:42As one family of faith, let us now profess that faith. I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
00:29:02I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
00:29:10God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made unsubstantial with the Father.
00:29:18For now all things were made. For us men, for our salvation, he came down from heaven.
00:29:24And by the Holy Spirit, was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
00:29:30For our Savior was crucified and conscious father. He suffered a dead who was buried, and rose in a third day, in accordance with the scriptures.
00:29:39He ascended into heaven, has seen the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.
00:29:47His kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the given of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
00:29:55who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
00:30:01I believe in one holy Catholic Church. I confess on baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
00:30:09Now look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
00:30:15Tonight we rejoice because our Savior has been born. Let's now pray to our loving God, who has shown his endless love by sending us his only Son.
00:30:27Our response is, Lord, hear our prayer.
00:30:31For the leaders of our church, especially our Holy Father, Pope Francis, that through their work, they may continue to spread the good news of our Savior.

00:32:00Let us pray to the Lord.
00:32:02Lord, hear our prayer.
00:32:04Lord, hear our prayer.
00:32:05In silence, let us present our personal intentions and those inscribed in our parish and petitions, and the world peace.
00:32:19Let us pray to the Lord.
00:32:22Lord, hear our prayer.
00:32:24Loving God, you sent your only Son into the world.
00:32:27Truly God, truly man.
00:32:29Mindful of your great gift, we place our needs before you.
00:32:33Through Christ our word.
00:32:35Amen.

00:41:22to its setting, a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.
00:41:28Therefore, O Lord, we humbly adore you,
00:41:30by the same Spirit,
00:41:32graciously make holy these gifts
00:41:34we have brought to you for consecration,
00:41:37that they may become the body and blood of your Son,
00:41:41our Lord Jesus Christ,
00:41:44at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.
00:41:47From the night he was betrayed,
00:41:49he himself took bread and gave you thanks.
00:41:53He said the blessing,
00:41:55broke the bread,
00:41:56and gave it to his disciples,
00:41:58saying,
00:41:59Take this, all of you,
00:42:02and eat of it.
00:42:03For this is my body,
00:42:05which will be given up for you.
00:42:07In a syllable day, when supper was ended,
00:42:24he took the chalice,
00:42:25and giving you thanks,
00:42:27he said the blessing,
00:42:28and gave the chalice to his disciples,
00:42:31saying,
00:42:32Take this, all of you,
00:42:34and drink from it.
00:42:35For this is the chalice of my blood,
00:42:39the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
00:42:42which will be poured out for you and for many,
00:42:45for their forgiveness of sins.
00:42:47Do this in memory of me.
00:43:03The Mystery of Faith
00:43:05Therefore, O Lord,

00:43:33and ascension into heaven.
00:43:35And as we look forward to his second coming,
00:43:38we offer you in thanksgiving,
00:43:40this holy and living sacrifice.

00:43:46and recognizing the sacrificial victim,
00:43:50by whose debt you willed,
00:43:52to reconcile us to yourself.
00:43:54Grant that we,
00:43:55who are nourished by the body and blood of your Son,
00:43:58and filled with his Holy Spirit,

01:01:27may through an honorable way of life become worthy of union with him who lives and reigns forever and ever.
01:01:36I just have a few thank yous to do as my role as pastor, which I'm honored for the last 12 Christmases to be in this role.
01:01:46It's hard to believe the time has come on 12 years, 12 Christmases.
01:01:52We thought we were like the Three Stooges back here working everything out, a little colloquial and disorganized.
01:01:58But because we had so many people here, being Italian, I think we're going to run out of hosts.
01:02:04And you can't run out of food when you're invited to somebody's house.
01:02:07So I was running around telling these guys to make sure we have enough hosts and that we have enough Eucharist to go up to the choir, which is a good problem to have.
01:02:17So I want to thank our music ministry. I just can't get over your incredible experience.
01:02:24You have come such a long way and you are incredible. Your voices, it's just, and Connie's eating everything up right now.
01:02:44It is so beautiful, it's so joyful to listen to you guys sing, so thank you.
01:02:54I want to thank Patrizio for making it all possible.
01:02:57I want to acknowledge his family who is here as well.
01:03:10But I love, and many of you can't see it, but when you watch Patrizio play, his whole body gets into it.
01:03:16And he enjoys what he does and it shows.
01:03:18I want to thank Michelle for being our camper this evening. I'm so happy.
01:03:30I'm so happy your mom is able to be with us after her recent battle surgery.
01:03:34So let's go sit with that, Joanne, with us tonight.
01:03:37And I know Paul came out of retirement, too.
01:03:40Paul Puglisi was here playing that view for All Holy Night for us.
01:03:46I want to thank all the servers. I want to thank our electors.
01:03:52I want to thank our ushers, our UPS administers.
01:03:55Many of them are going to pull out of retirement to come and help us tonight as well.
01:04:00And I want to thank our art and decorating committee, Judy, Joyce, and Cookie, and all of you for your generosity to make our church so beautiful.
01:04:11I want to thank Mark. He's around here somewhere. There he is.
01:04:14Because he is the glue. I rely on him so much to make everything run so smoothly, especially on a night like this.
01:04:21I want to thank Chris. I want to thank my Tracy and George Reisinger for putting the major up outside.
01:04:30I want to thank the Maywood Fire Department for putting up a star outside.
01:04:35They do it every year. And they're a great friend to us.
01:04:38So I want to thank all of them.
01:04:40In my name, in the name of Father Jonathan, Father Raphael, Deacon Joe, and his staff, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, a very joyful Christmas, and a very blessed Christmas.
01:04:52I know Father Jonathan and Father Raphael have left their families back home in Nigeria and calling to be with us, their new families.
01:05:07Lastly, I just want to thank them for their friendship and their support.
01:05:12When we have a good, happy house, as we do, it's going to show by the ministry that we do to you, the people of our wonderful parish.
01:05:20My friends, the Lord be with you.
01:05:23Bow your heads for the blessing.
01:05:25And please respond amen to each of the three invocations.
01:05:30May the God of infinite goodness, who by the incarnation of his Son, has driven darkness from this world,
01:05:37and by that glorious birth, has illumined this most holy night, drive far from you the darkness of vice,
01:05:45and illumine your hearts with the light of virtue.
01:05:49Amen.
01:05:50May God, who willed at the great joy of his Son's saving birth, be announced as shepherds by the angel, fill your minds with the gladness he gives, and make you heralds of his gospel.
01:06:03Amen.
01:06:04And may God, who by the incarnation brought together in the earthly and heavenly realm, fill you with the gift of his peace and favor, and make you sharers with the church in heaven.
01:06:17Amen.
01:06:18And may the blessing of Almighty God, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit come down on you and remain with you forever.
01:06:26Amen.
01:06:27The Mass has ended, but let us go to peace.
01:06:30Thanks be to God.
01:06:32We are sent forth today.
