00:00The Jeffrey Epstein files named some of the world's most powerful billionaires.
00:05Here's how they made their money and how close they were to Epstein.
00:09Bill Gates is worth $124 billion, making him one of the richest people alive.
00:16He co-founded Microsoft and later launched the world's biggest philanthropy, the Gates Foundation.
00:21Gates and Epstein had several meals together, and the files show Epstein was friendly with multiple people in Gates Network.
00:28There were discussions of scheduled meetings between the two on these dates.
00:32It isn't clear if all of these meetings actually took place.
00:35Gates is pictured here, attending events with Epstein.
00:38A Gates spokesperson told Business Insider these claims are absolutely absurd and completely false.
00:44You know, every minute I spent with him, I regret and I apologize that I did that.
00:49Les Wexner, worth $8.8 billion, founded Bath & Body Works.
00:54His company also acquired Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch.
00:58He ceded Epstein's vast wealth.
01:01Wexner hired him as his money manager, granting Epstein power of attorney over his finances for 16 years.
01:07Wexner actually previously owned Epstein's notorious New York City mansion in the Upper East Side.
01:12Public records indicate Wexner transferred the house worth $77 million to Epstein for $0.
01:21Wexner cut ties with Epstein and says he discovered Epstein stole $46 million from him.
01:28In a letter to the Wexner Foundation, Les said,
01:35Leon Black, worth $13.3 billion, co-founded Apollo Global Management.
01:42Black paid Epstein $158 million for financial advice through the years following Epstein's 2008 conviction for procuring a minor for
01:52prostitution.
01:53Epstein wasn't a lawyer or a certified accountant.
01:56Black later called the relationship a horrible mistake.
02:00Forbes estimates Donald Trump is worth $6.2 billion due to his cryptocurrency ventures, his social media platform TrueSocial, and
02:09royalties on branded products.
02:11Most of the emails in the latest release of the files are unverified tips the public sent to the FBI
02:17about Trump's relationship to Epstein.
02:20But from previous releases, we can track their relationship back to the 90s and early 2000s.
02:24Flight logs show that Trump flew on Epstein's plane multiple times.
02:28And photos show Epstein attending events at Mar-a-Lago in 1992 and 2000.
02:35Trump has said that the relationship with Epstein soured years ago.
02:38He says he had no knowledge of Epstein's sex crimes.
02:41When the New York Times asked the White House for comment, they referred to this statement from the Department of
02:46Justice,
02:46that the files may include fake or falsely submitted images, documents, or videos.
02:53Richard Branson, worth $2.8 billion, founded the Virgin Group with major brands like Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Galactic, the
03:01space tourism company.
03:02His name appears hundreds of times in the files.
03:05In one email, he joked about Epstein bringing a harem.
03:09But Virgin later said that referred to Epstein's adult staff.
03:13And photos show Epstein visiting Branson's private island in the Caribbean.
03:18A spokesperson said that if Branson had known the full facts, he would never have become involved with Epstein.
03:24Sergey Brin, worth over $255 billion, co-founded Google.
03:29He communicated with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's longtime associate, starting in 2003.
03:34The files include reports from people saying he visited Epstein's island multiple times.
03:40And these photos show him at a dinner for billionaires, put on by the Epstein-funded EDGE Foundation.
03:45Jeffrey also attended these dinners.
03:48Brin has not publicly commented on the documents.
03:52Steve Tisch, worth $1.6 billion, is a film producer and co-owner of the New York Giants.
03:58Emails show Epstein introducing Tisch to women and exchanging explicit commentary.
04:03In a comment, Tisch said,
04:05We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women.
04:09And in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy and investments.
04:14Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, is worth a whopping $825 billion,
04:21making him the richest man on Earth as of early 2026.
04:25In the latest release of files, he's seen emailing Jeffrey Epstein in 2013 and also in 2012, asking what day
04:33slash night will be the wildest party on your island.
04:38It doesn't look like Musk ended up visiting the island.
04:41This is his comment on X.
04:42Well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.
04:49Mortimer Zuckerman is the co-founder of one of the largest real estate investment trusts in the U.S.
04:54and the owner of U.S. News & World Report.
04:57He's estimated to be worth $2.8 billion.
05:00Emails included in the files show that Epstein was in talks to work for Zuckerman as a financial planner,
05:05though it isn't clear if they actually reached an agreement.
05:08Zuckerman has not publicly commented.
05:11Ariane de Rothschild, worth about $1.4 billion, runs a major Swiss private bank
05:17and is part of the Rothschild family, an international banking dynasty.
05:22She emailed back and forth with Epstein for years, setting up calls and in-person meetings.
05:27Epstein offered financial advice to her firm, but it's unclear from the files if they actually reached a formal agreement.
05:33Rothschild spokesperson said she unequivocally condemns Epstein's crimes.
05:38Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Commerce Department secretary under the Trump administration, is worth $3.3 billion.
05:46He also exchanged emails with Epstein.
05:49Although Lutnick says he cut ties with Jeffrey in 2005 after his first visit to Epstein's house,
05:56he invited Epstein to a Hillary Clinton fundraiser in 2015, the email show.
06:00We had lunch on the island. That is true. For an hour, my wife was with me, as were my
06:07four children and nannies.
06:10A Commerce Department spokesperson said Secretary Lutnick had limited interactions with Mr. Epstein in the presence of his wife
06:17and has never been accused of wrongdoing.
06:20Peter Thiel is currently worth $26.3 billion, and he co-founded PayPal.
06:27Emails show Epstein inviting Thiel to his private island in 2018, though Thiel's spokesperson says he never went.
06:33Thiel later publicly criticized Epstein on Joe Rogan's podcast.
06:37Combined, these people are worth $1.27 trillion.
06:41That's the scale of power now tied to the Epstein files.
