06:26because you're just hoping everyone's OK.
06:29We, yeah, we sort of just got through and safe and then when they pulled it off,
06:34we're sort of all calling in trying to make sure everyone's OK.
06:37And when we heard that, yeah, that's good news.
06:41But, yeah, it's hard to really focus on results when there's a bit of chaos going on like that.
06:46Yeah, certainly.
06:47Obviously, you came out of the gates firing, getting the wind with your team.
06:53How tough was the race course out there just in general?
06:55It was a very tricky race course.
06:56I mean, it's that wind direction, it's the one wind direction here that doesn't leave much space on the course.
07:03And we knew it was going to be tight.
07:05And, yeah, coming into that first mark, you're just getting hit by a lot of bullets of wind
07:10and then it gets light and it's hard to see the wind on the racetrack.
07:13But, yeah, it was fun racing when everything was going well.
07:19And then, yeah, when you're just trying to stay out of trouble and get the best results you can.
07:24It would be pretty crazy out there, I guess, with those conditions,
07:27the amount of communication that's going on in the boat.
07:29Just give us a little bit of insight of how much everyone's just got to be at 100%.

07:35There's so much happening.
07:37But all the boats, you would hear the tempos raised and there's a lot of information coming.
07:42But I think you need that on board on a day like today.

08:37I think this wind direction makes the race course so short.

08:43So it's definitely one of those days where you really got to be sharp
08:46and have your game face on.
08:48And everyone has to do their job 100%.
08:49It's challenging.
08:51Probably one of the hardest race courses we had in a long time.
08:54And mixing that with high winds and strong conditions just makes it even harder.

09:00How did your team go?
09:03Not that well, to be honest.
09:04We struggled to get off the start line.
09:06So fighting in the mix, then it was really close racing.
09:09We had some good moments, but then fell back.
09:11So yeah, it's hard to understand everything that's happening on the race course.
09:15It's so much at the same time.
09:17So for us, it's just about trying to keep it calm on board,
09:20which is not always easy to do.
09:22I guess, as you mentioned, the race course was really challenging.
09:25Because what was the hardest part of a day like today?
09:29It's just to keep the boat pointing in the right direction and keeping it clean.
09:35I think doing the maneuvers in this shifty breeze is really tricky.
09:38I think everybody was struggling with the boat handling,
09:40but it was just trying to recover as quick as possible.
09:43And for sure, I think the thing that never changes is if you start in front,
09:46the racing is always a bit easier.
09:48So yeah, we definitely don't make our life easy with that.
09:51So tomorrow, hoping to do some better starts and staying away from the traffic.
09:55Diego, obviously a pretty scary way to finish the day, but how are you feeling about it all?
10:02Yeah, obviously, it was very hard conditions today.
10:07And we also had some problems with the boat and stuff.
10:09And after that, yeah, we had two very hectic, but good races.
10:14And then on race three, the big incident happened.
10:19Yeah, I know it was a very big incident.
10:22Obviously, we need to know the extent of the problem and we need to debrief.
10:28Obviously, right now it's a bit shocking for us.
10:31So yeah, I really don't know much what to say now, but we'll see what happens next, yeah.
10:37You said you had some issues with the boat.
10:39I guess in racing, you still did fairly well considering?
10:42Yeah, yeah, we had some malfunctions.
10:46It was a bit scary at the beginning because in the warm-up we were crashing a lot and stuff.
10:50But the tech team and our short team found out what the problem was and we were just ready for
10:54race one.
10:56And yeah, we managed to find some good lanes around the course.
11:00And yeah, it felt hectic, but it felt also under control.
11:04So we are happy with the way we were sailing the boat and yeah, we'll see if we sail tomorrow
11:08or not.
11:09And I don't know what's happening next, to be honest.
11:11Phil, if you don't mind me asking, obviously you were pretty close to the incident.
11:14I guess how did you see it from your eyes and are you okay?
11:20Yeah, the Kiwis are sort of above us a little bit back and they just got a little high and
11:26started sliding towards us.
11:28So I sort of had them in my peripheral that they're closing a lot of gauge pretty quickly.
11:32And yeah, then they got grip.
11:36So, and yeah, the rest is history, I guess.
11:41It was a pretty chaotic day in general, just the conditions.
11:45You had a pretty close call in the practice laps as well.
11:48How crazy were the conditions, just general race conditions?
11:52Yeah, generally, look, it's definitely a challenge out there.
11:56Any offshore breeze is tough and when it's windy, it's really tough.
11:59And you're at pretty high speed, so you want to try and keep that apparent wind forward.
12:04And yeah, a few times we got a little caught out in a few moments.
12:07And yeah, bottom gates are tough to get around when you've got a big bomb coming through the course.
12:12So yeah, we had a little spicy moment pre-race and I don't know how we didn't tip it over.
12:17But I'm pretty sure we were past 45 and she stayed on her feet.
