00:00Look, turning 30 is not that big a deal.
00:02Oh, really? Is that how you felt when you turned 30?
00:05Why, God, why?
00:08Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at common life realizations
00:13that many people don't fully understand until after turning 30.
00:23Less patience for drama.
00:25Back in high school and college, even the smallest things could turn into full-blown drama,
00:30and honestly, most of us live for it.
00:33Petty arguments, messy friendships, and emotional roller coasters felt like what life is all about.
00:38You little b****.
00:40You're a b****.
00:42This behavior can carry into our 20s, too, but once you hit your 30s, drama just feels exhausting.
00:49Between careers, paying bills, and maintaining relationships,
00:52who even has the time or patience for pointless nonsense?
00:55Oh, my God!
00:58That's our phone number.
01:01It's easier to step back and protect your sanity because, at this point, peace becomes the real flex.
01:07Where many thrive on conflict in their younger years,
01:10the 30s are when most of us realize life's too short for unnecessary dramas.
01:15No thank you.
01:16Oh, I'm too old for that stuff.
01:19Most people are rooting for you.
01:21By the time most of us reach our 20s, we face the pressures of high school, college, and breaking into
01:26the working world.
01:27After being judged almost every step of the way, it starts to feel like people just have it out for
01:33you.
01:43Why do you suppose I just hurled a chair at your head, Neiman?
01:46But by our 30s, it's easier to separate the good from the bad.
01:50Not every compliment is a vile attack, and sometimes people genuinely try to help by offering advice.
01:56Because I want every media guy, every player's rep, everybody to see you for what you are.
02:01The best-kept secret in the NFL.
02:04At this age, experience teach us to trust instead of doubt.
02:07Should you blindly trust everyone in front of you?
02:10No.
02:11But you should stop assuming the worst, because honestly, most people do want you to succeed.
02:15Oh, poor thieves.
02:18Hey, you know what, you guys?
02:19I think I'm going to go walk her home.
02:21Changing yourself isn't easy.
02:23Controlling our vices sound laughable in our 20s.
02:26After all, those are supposed to be your wildest years, right?
02:30Old habits really do die hard, and if these aren't contained by the time you hit 30, then good luck
02:35shaking them off.
02:37Oh, oh, Professor Geller.
02:42Everything from smoking, weak diet, alcohol consumption, reckless spending, bad sleep, and living in excess becomes less inconvenient and more
02:50a part of your lifestyle.
02:52Okay, so that's, that's what, two bottles, and yet somehow we went through five?
02:56And even after they're identified as something to resolve, giving them up feels like letting go a part of what
03:02makes you who you are.
03:03So, if there are habits you want to change, we suggest starting now before they become a permanent problem.
03:09Damn it, let's do it.
03:12Okay.
03:13Making your own luck.
03:14Let's be honest.
03:15At some point in our youth, most of us start seeing ourselves as the main character in our lives.
03:20This mindset can foster a sense of entitlement, but as we get older, we learn that the world doesn't owe
03:26us anything.
03:26I'm not a bad guy.
03:28I know that.
03:29At the same time, many are afraid to ask for more, whether out of rejection or to avoid conflict.
03:34But you can't get what you don't ask for.
03:37By our 30s, it becomes clear, sometimes painfully, that the phrase, ask and you shall receive, is more than just
03:43words.
03:44Ask, and you shall receive.
03:48All right, you play ball, we play ball.
03:52This isn't limited to a specific area in life either.
03:55Nothing from love, career, or new opportunities is handed out.
03:59You have to go after it.
04:00Make your own luck.
04:03Sleep is a luxury.
04:05Ah, sleep.
04:06If you're over 30, just the thought of an uninterrupted eight-hour night sounds like an absolute, well, dream.
04:23Christina.
04:24And for most, that's exactly what it is.
04:26As responsibilities pile up, family, chores, work, bills, and everything in between, sleep is a luxury only a few can
04:34afford.
04:34For the most part, the Sandman shows up too late and the early bird shows up way too soon.
04:39In our 20s, staying up late and waking up early was a no-brainer.
04:43But by our 30s, the very idea sounds absurd.
04:52What do you want?
04:53These days, a late-night party usually involves getting into bed early and drifting off into a sleep that hopefully
04:59ends without the dreaded sound of an alarm clock.
05:09The importance of family.
05:11When we were younger, spending time with the family becomes secondary and sometimes even embarrassing.
05:16In our 20s, finally tasting freedom feels like stepping into a whole new world with no rules or boundaries.
05:22Naturally, family often gets pushed to the background.
05:25But it's in our 30s when we realize what's most important.
05:28When times get rough or when you need a safe space, it's usually your family you turn to.
05:33People raising families of their own begin to appreciate their parents and parental figures in a whole new light.
05:39In our 30s, being with the people closest to us becomes what life is really about.
05:44My son.
05:49My dad.
05:51It may take some time, but for many, it's one of the most important lessons a person can have.
05:56I'm sorry, too.
05:59But you did your best.
06:01You fought for us.
06:04You loved us.
06:08That's enough.
06:10Health above all.
06:11As life goes on, it truly is put into perspective how small your youth is in the grand scheme of
06:17things.
06:18It's usually after 30 that health starts to demand attention.
06:21And with it comes the reality that staying well requires a full-time commitment.
06:29So if your back starts to crack, stomach begins to rumble, or vision becomes blurry, then congratulations.
06:35Your 30s are in full swing.
06:37I don't want to change, man.
06:39I like who I am.
06:40I like who you are, too.
06:41But look at that.
06:42You know?
06:43You don't want to believe this, but that ain't us up there no more, pal.
06:46We can't do that the way we did it before.
06:48We're changing.
06:50We're, like, turning into regular people.
06:53While many can go all day and all night in their 20s, the next decade is a crash course in
06:58self-care.
06:59A good walk, hours at the gym, maintaining a diet, and protecting mental health all feel priceless.
07:04It's at this stage of life that most learn that nothing matters more than feeling good and staying healthy.
07:10Come on!
07:11Let's start running!
07:12Let's go!
07:14Not every friendship lasts.
07:16This one might steam, but it's just part of how the world works.
07:20When we're younger, phrases like ride or die or best friends forever aren't just statements.
07:26They're lived-in truths.
07:27But as time moves on and people drift in different directions, not every friendship is built to last.
07:35How about now?
07:36You still wired in?
07:37What makes it hurt isn't usually some huge fight or massive fallout, but simply because people just fade away.
07:43We had a couple of really nice hangs, but I think it best that we go our separate ways.
07:50Is it because of sliding glass door?
07:52Staying in touch goes from days to months to years.
07:56Aside from the rare few who really are in it for the long haul, most friendships are chapters of your
08:00story.
08:01In your 30s, you learn not to dwell on the bonds that didn't last, but to appreciate the memories they
08:06brought with them.
08:13Financial Independence Matters
08:15As Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says, don't become a philosopher before you are rich.
08:21Growing up, we're taught that money can't buy happiness, and some even like it to evil.
08:25And although greed can turn some into full-blown gordon geckos, the truth is that financial independence offers you control
08:32over your life.
08:33The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.
08:41Younger people are inclined to spend freely and treat money as something secondary.
08:45But by the time you hit 30, the value of a paid-off home, saving for emergencies, and funds providing
08:51for your children down the line is beyond measure.
08:54Yeah, I'll have the Thai chicken pizza, but hey, look, if I get it without the nuts and leeks and
08:59stuff, is it cheaper?
09:00Few things are as empowering as being able to rely on yourself.
09:03Financial freedom becomes stability, freedom, and peace of mind, so you'd better start saving up before it's too late.
09:09Oh, sweetie, you should really get some money.

09:29Time flies by.
09:31When we're young, youth seems to last forever, and the finish line is some distant future we can't even imagine.
09:37But the moment we hit 30, this illusion comes crashing down.
09:41Suddenly, time doesn't just walk past you.
09:44It sprints at breakneck speed.
09:46And just like that, we find ourselves nostalgic for the good old days,
09:50back when things felt simple, dreams felt attainable, and you felt everything would work out somehow.
09:55But then we meet teenagers who see us as old-timers, and the things we loved are considered retro or
10:01even vintage.
10:08It's scary and a little unfair, but that's the cycle of life, and the best we can do is appreciate
10:14the time we have.
10:15Now, do you realize in 10 years we're going to be 40?
10:22Why, God?
10:24Why are you doing this to us?
10:27Are there any other secrets to your 30s?
